now it's look better but again you need a plot, a big one with 15-30cm depth for growing herbs. but those herbs need more sunlight, but you can try put some plots under that mini greenhouse and leave another one outside, both way plants will be doing okay but outside the greenhouse will grow faster and tastier. lets try it out.

Now i back after done this mixed farm project since 2016. IMG_5622.HEICIMG_5733.HEIC

the tiny moveable greenhouse is not good for growing any herbs or plants you mentioned, coz it used for nursery or seedling only. so i recommend to use the concrete block or clay brick, line it up 75 cm width 1.5 m long and 30 - 45cm depth. then you can grow all plants you mentioned, much better than growing in that mini greenhouse.

9 x 6 is quite a small pond, the deepest you should do is 3 meters. the side slope angle should be around 30-45 degree. clay soil is very good for holding water and not easily cracking, so you either planting deep root grass or using rice grain spread it over around the edge of the pond it's growing very fast or you can grow both i mean vetiver and rice, with these two combined will protect it from cracking

Since Feb 2016 we started this farm, everything still going well, more than that we got a lot of tree and now it become like permaculture, more stuffs on our land but less works required and less energy needed. every tree growing on its own and we just make sure that the eco system is balancing. we learned how to be self sufficient, learned to save money and care about money and now we become independent from money or on the other world we are now able to control money.
we know the fruit we eat is so delicious and good for health. we don't need to sell it just for small amount of money. it is better to keep it for ourselves. it is the same as egg or chickens we don't need to sell it if we want to.
This is simple thing i learned " as long as your expenses is lower than your earning, you will become richer and richer and rich forever" and i'm now at the beginning of this stage already
when you don't worry about your health, don't worry about your money and you have a lot good friends around you, i think you already become successful with a lot of happiness and that's it i think life is all about. ^^__^^

Hi Mr. Kie,
thanks for your update. your story inspired us to start a similar chicken-barn project. Recently got the first 50 layers at 18 weeks old. The eggs start coming now. although small and low count, it is just 3 weeks after their arrival. Got a barn of around 44m2 and are working now on an adjacent meadow of 300m2 for free-ranging. Also planning on using the chicken-poop to fertilize our land and get the chicken-food from this.
A slight difference in the setup is, that we cover the ground in the barn with hay (grasses cut from our own land) and going to exchange it, probably every week (as soon as the layers are increase to 200) as a poop collection system. This then will be aged for a couple of months.
Tried to get r.i.r. chickens but all that was available, as far as I could find, where hybrids.
Please continue with your updates. Thanks very much for all of this.

Looks like a bit of permaculture going on there Mr. Kie. Looks good. We diversified last year from rubber and added a commercial broiler farm. ROI is impressive, there are risks and we are only one year in but, touch wood.........we also got those leaping fish ????
yes we want to diversify things we grow to minimise the risk especially low price in some growing season.
any corp with price below 20 THB/kg we won't grow for selling. we will grow only crop that has good price or above 50 THB/kg. trying to add more nutrient to the land at low cost as possible while trying to sell at high price/kg as possible.

thanks you guys for all the comments... after we started running this farm, we got a lot of food to feed family members and more for others, we know more people and more people know us. we got a place to sell our produces. more than that the trees we planted now growing bigger and bigger. at the same time i keep money and invest it in other asset. i pretty sure within 5 years from now, i will be wealthy retired without any problem and stay peacefully in our land. we will use only the interest and never use the principle.

to get the bamboo shoot we do need to water it especially in dry season but we don't have any problem with water in our land now.

Vegetables. What, and how, could I grow in this small unit?

you said earlier that the area where you r going to plant the herb is only explored to the sunlight only few hours so i think that is good enough for the plant to get sunlight. So i don't think it will be good if you just keep them under the shade all the time. i'm not an expert on all the plant you wanna grow, but i have seen in my garden that leaving it outside the shade for few hours a day is better.
