  1. Report from Vienna embassy if there are also non-NES people curious how it works wink.png

you need to provide all documents:

    proof of employment

first return ticket (was enough to singapur after 2 weeks in Thailand)

first accomodation in Thailand - copy from reservation made via booking.com was enough

Evidence of 5000 euro on your account for 6 months - was okay to have this amount only last two months

It felt similar as when you are applying for visa to USA - you provide all documents but dont know if you will get or will not get visa - they only give you paper with date and time when you should come for your passport and hope to hit a jackpot wink.png

    Are you Austrian?

No I am from Slovakia but as we dont have Thai embassy we are directly under Austria

  3. great smile.png thank you very much so he can make self-assessment. and what about me? I think I am not able to write housewife :-D or do you think it would be enough just for my husband to have proof?

You need to ask the embassy/consulate you're applying at for a definitive answer. But if you are a housewife then put that on the application form and make them aware that you are traveling with your husband. As long as you can both show the money needed I am pretty sure they will grant the visa.

Why do you feel you need a METV. You could get a SETV and then apply for another locally once in Thailand. You'll have to exit Thailand anyway after 60/90 days so you could go and get another then.

I am not a housewife :-D I am unemployed from december and wanted to take some rest from corporate life ;) SETV is not enough as we need to return to our country after 90 days and we want to stay at least for 6 months so METV sounds better for us

On the other hand thank you very much for everything :) I´ll call to consulate on monday so hopefully everything will work just fine for us

  4. yes we have visa on arrival however I wish to find a job in Thailand and from what I heard I need to work at least 3 months in company before they will help with non-immigrant visa B. I am looking for a way how could I stay in Thailand for 6 month (maybe less deppending on job hunting and probation period). So option with crossing border each month was the best way I could find for now. I would be grateful if you know about some other option.
