In Thaitown behind the main market there is a shipper who will ship everything custom free. No need for hassle or tax.

There is not much to do there. Many Farang but mostly backpackers on there way to the island. Rent for a place in the city should be around 1500-3500 depending on what you want.

Sorry the website is actually xxxxxxxxx.com and just confirmed with a thai female friend that all her friends know about this sight.

So I am on the BTS and this woman comes up to me and says you have many pictures of yourself on the Internet. I ask her what she is talking about. She says I saw you on a website called xxxxxxxxx.com. I ask her what's the website about. She says it is a website where you post your boyfriends or husbands picture and ask if he is seeing anyone else. At that point my jaw dropped. Anyone ever here of this before? Tonight should be interesting when she gets home.

You will need a visa. The cost for a visa for UK and US is differnet then then other nationalities. I recieved mine from the chinese embassy in Bangkok 2 weeks ago and the cost was 5570 baht other nationalities only pay 1000 baht. Be sure to have a copy of your ticket and a paid hotel reservation.

i'm going to bring a 10,000$ fully loaded Mac Pro desktop computer, checked as baggage (with overweight/oversize of course) through customs in a month. In coming through today, I noticed that everything is no longer eye-checked, but put through a scanner first. My question is: what is the official policy for properly declaring such equipment (this is a personal computer to be used for consultant work with an NGO for a year here). Any advise or help on how to properly do this would help. I've seen various answers merely from experience in other forums, but no hard policy or Thai website statement. I just don't want the amount of money to come on a whim from some guy looking for a nice night out on the town...
Thanks,
CS
Ive brought 5 different desktops here in the last 5 years and I have never had a problem. They are not going to scan a desktop or let alone even take a peak. Don't worry about customs it's those luggage handlers that take such good care of your bags when they throw the damm thing to the ground that you have to worry about.

Are you in Thailand or state side? The have applications in English and Thai. Just go on in and ask? Also go to the U.S. Embassy website. There is no sense of paying money to a agency when all the info you need is already there at the Embassy.
-
Why do you need a agency or attorney? She should just go down and apply. Unless she has less then desirable background she doesn't need any agency or attoney.

The wife and I are back for a visit in Los Angeles and to my suprise walking in the market is Chang Beer. Never thought I would see that here as I was told it couldn't be sold for some reason or another in the states.
How much for a bottle?
It was around $2 for a large bottle.

Khanom is very quiet and beautiful mountains but the beach is polluted and dirty water.
Hi!!!I planed to stay a few days in nakhon sri thammarat at sichon or khanom to be more precise. I wondered how the beaches looked like (white sandy beach?) and if the water was clear enough for snorkeling. As we are looking for a quiet place to stay I would like to know if this area is very busy during this period. Sorry for my english!!!!! hope you understood what i mean....
Thank you for your replies!!!!

We have 6 rais of beach land for sale in Khanom
3 rais on the beach side of the road and 3 rais on the other side, will not divide the land.
Chanote land title, water, electricity and paved road access. No neighbours.
40 metres beach front.
About 1 km North from the hotel.
2 million baht per rai.

Thanks for the info!
It seems better take the plane!!! Bangkok air rate is around 200 USD for the round trip ticket! Where to find the cheaper one?
Take 12go airlines from bkk to Surat Thani (1700 Baht) then take the bus at the airport to the ferry and off you go!!!

Just curious as to how many Farang's live in or near Don Sak. I haven't seen but 1 since I moved hear.

Thanks to everyone for your replies, but just to play it safe, we will go to the States and have a "Commitment Ceremony".
Which means it looks just like a regular wedding without the legal documents being filed. When we return we'll go the the embassy and do the standard I-130 when we decide to return.
But like I said before, our 10 year plan doesn't include emigrating.
Thanks again, everyone.

Lotus eater,
Your girlfriend will need or as it was last week 50K euros in the bank, medical proof of coverage, the actual plane ticket pre-paid and a 3-5 week wait for approval. This was given from a friend who works at the embassy.
Good luck
