How do I pay for covid tests in advance at hotel under the Sandbox model
-
I like many other Expats are stuck in their home countries and wanting to return as soon as possible to their families in Thailand. I have lived in Phuket Thailand for 13 years at the same address in a defacto relationship using the monthly 65.000 baht plus method. No problems until Virus. I departed Thailand on 3/2/2020 on a muliple re-entry permit. My Extension of Stay issued in Thailand based on an OA Visa issued in Australia expires on 23rd August 2020. I would like to get back before then. I see that Australia may be included in the Travel bubble. If all this occurs before my expiry date.. My questions are.. Do I now require Insurance to re-enter Thailand. Do I need a Fit to Fly certificate. Are there any other requirements so far announced for me to re-enter. Sound advice would be appreciated. Appears to be still confusing and Thai decisions not firm yet. Cheers.

Thanks for advice.. Keep the beer cold

Thanks Joe.. BUGGAR.. Thought that would be the case. I guess my options are to get a 6 month tourist visa in Australia..convert it to a O visa then upgrade back to my Retirement. Is that the correct and best way to do it.

My Extension of Stay based on Retirement expires on 24.8.20. I left Thailand on 3.3.20. I wish to return asap. I am stuck in Australia as at this stage. Australia won't let me out and Thailand won't let me in. I don't fit into any category as a prefered person for early re entry. Has there been any discussions or decisions regarding leniency regarding extensions of Stay for me and others trapped away from Thailand.

For those who may use Phuket Immigration Drive Through Service.
Returned to Thailand on 10th Sept. Went to Phuket Immigration drive thru morning of 11th Sept to report my return to Kingdom. Received Receipt of Address Notification in Passport dated 11th Sept. Received Receipt of 90 day Stay in Passport until 8th December. Partner/wife also reported at drive thru as House Owner. No problems. No questions. No fees. No complaints. All done 3 minutes. Like to do personally so can keep abreast of any changes in interpretation of Laws. Excellent Service.

Some international transfers from Transferwise are recorded as FIT on my Bangkok Bank Statement. lately those international transfers have been recorded as SMART. I asked the Manager of the Bank WHY... she replied all depends on the system used.. so I asked her.. would Immigration accept the code SMART.. she replied. . if they don't understand then I will give you a letter to clarify the coding.

Dont expect any leinency at Phuket. Yesterday I went to Phuket Immigration for Extension of Stay based on Retirement. Together with all the other forms I took a Letter from my Bank and my preceding 12 MONTH BANGKOK BANK STATEMENT SHOWING 12 MONTHLY INTERNATONAL TRANSFERS Of 65000 BAHT OR MORE TO AN ACCOUNT IN MY NAME ONLY. The Statement and my passport was
heavily scrutinised by the Officer, who, to my relief stamped it and said to come back on Monday after lunch. Paid 1900 baht and left very quickly. Cheers

THE RULE..Today we went to Phuket Immigration to renew my Permission to stay for Retirement on the 65,000 bt. plus per month. Immigration boss said even though the law came in on 1/3/2019, he wanted to see 12 month retrospectively every month from today with ONLY overseas transfers. HE SAID..There no leniency or diversion to the rule...or 800000 3 months before. Looked at itemised Bangkok Bank Statement at 10 overseas monthly transfers. My two other monthly cash deposits of over 65000 NOT accepted. He suggested to start over with OA Visa issued in home country. Very disappointed. Now have to consider agent. Cost 30,000 bt. or go get OA Visa.. Cheers.

I suspect the visa run companies can pay for overtime for some of the officers needed... so they likely are still getting service.
So correct.. this is great for visa run companies and Thai visa officers.. will be more efficient... user pays.

I was my belief if you had an O A visa issued in your home country then you only have to show (to Immigration in your home country that you have sufficient funds in your home bank) nothing to do with Thai banks. Is that true or false.

In most countries for Criminal matters "the standard of proof is" beyond reasonable doubt, and for Civil matters "the standard of proof" is on the balance of probabilities.

Got my pink ID card last week. Took 30 minutes and 60 baht tax and 100 baht for photo. I travel a lot around Thailand by motor vehicle so I will attempt to use it as ID every time. E.g. Hotels, national parks, other entertainment venues and any occasion requiring personal identification. Let's wait and see the result.

I have a yellow book and now I want to apply for a pink non Thai ID card. I have tried to search for a photo of this card on the forum that was recently shown but can't find it. I want to show the local Ampor a sample of this card to avoid long conversations with them. Can someone display a copy for me and others who may wish to apply. Cheers.

Came through Customs last week at Phuket International Airport with a new low pressure spray gun unit. Asked what was the machine.. Explained.. Then asked.. Is it new? I told them second hand but in very new condition. They said Ok. I think they might have been looking for some Import Duty on new imported items only.

I don't know about renting.. I used my friends vehicle on each visit to Bali. From what I can remember the car rent costs are not that much. I would check with regards to an insurance cover. Renting a van with a driver is another option. There are many. Hapy motoring.

You will have no problems driving around Bali.. Same side of road.. Same laws as Thailand.. chaotic.. But it all seems to work....Make sure your your types don't touch the stop line at the traffic light.. Easy prey..Otherwise more coffee money? Traffic not as bad as Thailand.. But a lot slower. Lucky if you get over 80 ks at any length of time even on the best pieces of road.. Enjoy your driving experience..

Hello,
Can I extend a 60 day tourist visa issued in Australia for an extra 30 days stay in Thailand.

In 8 years at Thailand Phuket and other immigration offices have never had a problem with my paperwork. Yes a lot of paperwork but that the system which is being modernised. Do not expect shortcuts. Do it right the first time, every time, on time. No problems
