@FolkGuitar is absolutely right.
I know both restaurants, the new one and the somewhat aging one in Saraphi. The new German buffet is much better than before in the aue. Especially the taste of the food is much better now. And the taste is, at least for me, the most important thing when I visit a restaurant. The change of the chef is a big step forward.
I can only recommend the new German Buffet.
It is located in the city center, so i don't have to drive 25 kilometers outside CM. Convenient parking in Loy Kroh is another big advantage there.Try it and you will be pleasantly surprised.

just one hour ago:
a 7/11 shop in Chiang Mai center, bill amount 170 Baht, everything was packed nicely, without hesitating in two white standard plastic bags

OA= also now requires health insurance both for new applications AND extensions for retirement
too much misleading information...
NON-O-Retirement still doesn't require any insurances
for the OP: try to get a Non-O
for all other retirees: just look in your Passport which kind of visa you actually have, is it a NON-O or a NON-OA???
with a NON-O-Retirement Visa you are fine without any rip off insurances, at least until now.

When I see something like this, I start to think again about leaving this country. After 15 years staying here, i know this is a common behavior.
In particular, these always friendly, lovely Thai girls with their smile and their almond eyes... in this video, the reality becomes apparent... out of control, ready to kill this nasty alien for nothing worth.
Little robots running amok.
Welcome to LOS.

Where in Thailand the keyless top case luggage box is available.
In Europe they sell this box long time already.
The Honda dealers i asked don't even have a clue that such a box is an original accessorie.

thanks for the link http://www.dpa.or.th/
In section 22 they describe what a "Non-Resident Baht Accounts (NRBA)" is.
According to this, our usual 'Savings' or 'Deposit' accounts are protected.
Though we are 'not even' Thai :))

Bangkok Bank says the Deposit protection is up to Baht 15 million
here
they say:
Which types of deposits are protected?
Thai Bath Account, deposited with domestic financial institutions (except for Non-Resident Baht Accounts (NRBA))So what does this mean? Will i (as a foreigner) be protected because of my thai address, or will this protection be only for thai nationals in the end?

L&H Bank has quietly reduced his interest rate from 1.85% to 1.80% effective from Febr 10th.

please tell us where you can get 2.5-2.7% on fixed savings

They both made it clear they need Tabien Baan.
What would happened if you would not own your own condo and live in a rented one. A simple confirmation about your address from the immigration at Jomtien would have been accepted. Maybe next time it can work, if you don't tell them too much.

@Den: why you don't make a Thai driving license. It is done within a half day and is accepted as proof of your address in many cases.
I opened an account at L&H Pattaya without any problems 2 month ago. They requiered my passport and a Thai driving license.
Back to topic:

New German Buffet in town!
in Chiang Mai
Posted
from the old town where i live it is exactly 12.6 km, with a little Chiang Mai traffic it takes me 30 min one way. The round trip is 25.2 km and would take me 1 hour.
(can someone calculate what that would cost? All expenses of a car... I guess 200-300 Baht)
LoyKro Soi 3 is a nice walk of 5 minutes for me.
But even if the Au would be in my neighborhood i would prefer the new German Buffet in Loy Kro, because it is really so much better.
