I've lived at Rimping 15 years and it's certainly quieter now. The number of condominium blocks built across town give far more options along with the ever increasing number of moo baans along the ring roads certainly folks have plenty of choice these days.
Personally still well content here and seeing some of the prices quoted for rentals/sales around Changklan recently I would say it's an excellent option for those wanting to live in town and this being an older building - 25 years will be close - likely more solidly built than more recent offerings and condo sizes will typically be larger.Good to hear that. ????

Rimping Condominium near Warorot market and overlooking the Mae Ping River used to be one of the better places to stay in Chiang Mai some 20 years ago.
But from the outside it now looks quite deserted and there are not too many cars in the parking garage.
Anyone who can tell me what has caused this? Or is it maybe just because of the many new places available nowadays?

She did it in one day.
Not a clever idea.
Land borders different.
I suggested Udon Thani return flight.
Udon airport is hour from friendship bridge.
Also domestic flight more simple than international.
Can I do the border crossing Nong Khai - Vientiane, in order to get a Visa Exempt, the same day?
That is not being frowned upon by Thai immigration?

My mistake, sorry for the confusion : I'm interested in the length of permission of stay of an e (tourist) visa. Would that be 2 months which then can be extended once with 1 month?
@CartagenaWarlock: what is a TB?
-
Thanks, but I find it a bit confusing. I quote:
"A tourist visa requires a return or onward ticket out of the country to apply for it.
If you have a valid visa a return or onward ticket is not required when entering the country."
So I need a return or onward ticket to apply for an e visa? But then once I have successfully applied for such an e visa a return or onward ticket is not required anymore when I enter Thailand?
-
Is it correct that if I'm a citizen of one of the "elegible countries" I can get an eVisa with a validity of 2 months? How long can I extend this evisa at maximum, 1 or 2 months?
I also read about a requirement of needing to have a return ticket to one's home country. Is this strictly enforced, or could it also be a cheap ticket out of Thailand?

I just saw this fwdgi company is Thai. Do they also insure for the Philippines? Since this is the Philippine chat forum I thought it was obvious that I was looking for insurance in the Philippines.

The cheapest around... and to save you asking for how many months... get one month cover only...
I don't need to be covered for the whole period I'm staying? They won't ask about it when extending my visa?

Can anyone recommend a cheap covid insurance? What I've seen so far is pretty expensive.

Thanks, Tanoshi.
In reality, is it doable to get an agent assisted retirement visa in Bangkok and then move to Chiang Mai or is it much better to find such an agent in Chiang Mai?
By the way, a while ago I read that immigration in Chiang Mai is much stricter than for instance in Pattaya. True?

Agents can be found almost everywhere.
The fact is the stamps will often be issued not from where you use agent (i.e Pattaya and BKK) but from another province.
Thanks.
I don't understand what you mean with "the stamps will be issued not from where you use an agent but from another province", sorry again for my ignorance. Care to explain?
And does it make any difference where your agent is located even if he's in Pattaya and you want to live in Chiang Mai?

How many offices out of about 80 have agents available to help him. I would guess maybe 10 might have them available.
Sorry for my ignorance but are you referring to agents that can assist with "retirement visas" without having funds in a bank account? And are those 10 agents mostly located in Pattaya and Bangkok or can some of these agents also be found in for example Chiang Mai?
-
And is the risk of getting into trouble with this volunteer visa the same as for an "agent-assisted retirement visa"?
And could I with such a retirement visa also move and live freely around Thailand or am I restricted to the area where the visa has been issued?

How to find these "special" agents?
-
And after getting this "agent-assisted visa", could I move around and live wherever I want to in Thailand or am I more or less restricted to the location where the visa has been issued?

This forum is an excellent source for detailed visa information but where can I find an overview of all the steps to take and to consider in order to enter Thailand?

Now that many Burmese workers are without a job, is there any place they can turn to for their daily food necessities? Do they get any support?

Finasteride is not a drug provided by Thai government hospitals.
Doctor said I could try it if I wanted to buy it myself.
I see.

Never had a prostrate exam in my life.
@BritManToo: I think that is quite remarkable, after all finasteride is a drug meant to shrink the size of the prostate. How can a doctor assess this without doing a prostate exam? Or did you take this drug without consulting a doctor? Just curious.

I never did, the Thai doctor just said "I know exactly what's wrong with you"
Took a blood sample then gave me the Doxazocin, no prostate exam.
The PSA number was low.
He worked me up to 5mg, starting at 1mg, and increasing the dose until everything worked again.
But in the past I guess you had to undergo a prostate exam before being prescribed finasteride?

Get yourself a split bicycle seat, about 400bht on lazada.
I take Doxazosin 5mg/day to fix the weeing, (I went from catheterised couldn't wee at all to completely normal in two months) it also reduces my blood pressure to about 95/65 as side effect.
Not sure what happens if you're already taking BP medication, you'd need to see a doctor.
If I remember correctly, I read a while ago that you took dutasteride (or finasteride). Do you take this together with doxazosin or did you stop taking dutasteride/finasteride?
-
Anybody who has both used doxazosin and tamsulosin? Which one was better?

AirBnb hosts are required to submit information about their guests to Immigration.
But do I need to submit a picture of the biodata of my passport to the host?
Or is supplying information of the passport data enough?
