Ha, ha, ha, lawyer in Thailand? Slander charges ha, ha, ha. If you have a little knowledge of law (especially British common law) you would understand it is very difficult to charge someone with Libel or Slander.

It had to be spoken to a group of people big enough to damage her social standing and the status of the person whose social standing was damaged would be brought into consideration. If She is a nobody in the society and all the people who heard the slander were just a small group of pot-belly beer drinkers the judge would dismiss the case forthwith.

The judge said, "What ? just some washouts & opportunists from Britiain other farang countries were listening ? "There is no case here", he said with a wave of his hand to the court clerk and he retired from the bench.

Mr PM,dotpoom or whatever you called yourself, if the Thais understand laws and follow the laws then Thailand would become "A paradise" in every sense of the word.

You should not kid yourself. Defamation is serious thing in Thailand. Look at all the news where top officials take the person who said something to court over almost anything as it was slanderous and made then person look bad. Be it newsprint or such. Be it Thai police to government that is always their response when questioned about intent or statements they deem as losing face or stature.

Really? can you show us where you read this?

I was trying to be sarcastic. Who knows when the message was written. I don't do you? I was implying that there seem to be a lot of things that did not make sense. And the Thai police seems to be saying that message proves something such as proof of suicide that the wife had Conveniently gotten. Maybe he did type it maybe he didn't.  I`m sorry that you take the quote as verbatim when it was not.

  3. "time to fulfill my life dream of moving on" Think about this. That is what he wrote. That does not sound like proper English nor the way a American would speak but I could be wrong. Which they state is his way of saying I am going to kill myself.  Say what? Then he puts on a diving suit and packs a bag with money then ties himself to a piling and cuts his throat. Things do not add up. His wife then produces the message to tie things to a suicide. Why all the effort. Some thing smells like rotting Pad Thai here.

  4. Umm Yeah this sure sounds like a suicide. Nothing suspicious at all other then the money in the wife`s bank the weird message the being tied to a post and slitting his own throat. Amazing Thailand continues to amaze. Oh and he wrote the message 6 hours after he died. But please the Thai police are a professional group and never blunder or make mistakes and are never wrong.

  5. Get out quickly before the new rules take effect, preferably through the biggest airport.

Get there very early, be well dressed & groomed, & yes Sir, no Sir, have the cash ready, u should be OK.

As previous post DO NOT DO IT AGAIN,,, next time big trouble for u

I doubt how one dresses make a huge difference yes a bit but I think the money in hand is the part here that they care about till the new rules.

As for persona non grata that could be an issue on the next attempt to enter Thailand.
