What I don't understand is how used car values can hold up very well under obvious oversupply. Every car yard I see in CM or CR is full of unsold vehicles.
They have no conception of depreciation, that and the tendancy to ignore even essential maintenance, wash it, polish it, and add a few goodies.

I don't know the OP's intentions with the gold he brings in.
For what it's worth, Thai gold is 96.5%, not the 99.9% of bullion from most countries.
I don't know what the limit is. It does seem a bit like bringing coals to Newcastle.
Incorrect, Thai gold goes from 99.9 to lesser grades, try thai gold sites.

Two Chinese Tourists Officially Charged After Starfish Incident in Phuket
By Goongnang SuksawatPhuket – Concern has been rising after photos of divers touching starfish under the sea in Phuket went viral on Thai social media.
The issue has been brought to light by the Facebook page ‘Monsoon Garbage Thailand’ earlier this week. They posted photos with a message that concluded, “Illegal tour companies with illegal tour guides are around Racha Island (in the Chalong area) . This particular incident was on Thursday (June 22nd) in the afternoon. We received a video clip from a Good Samaritan. Divers in the video clip appeared to pick up starfish and took photos. Some divers even climbed on coral reefs.”
They have called for relevant authorities to investigate the incident which took place over the past several days.

Money talks, morality walks.
The military like everything else suffer (or revel in) corruption.
Village boys get dragged in, some it will make, some it will just abuse and confuse, and quite a few arrive back in the village, whilst a general somewhere collects his pay. Technically he's still in the army and will make the odd apperance if required....but...

Prayuth has failed the people so miserably, that there is alot more poverty, homelessness, unemployment, suicide, and desperation happening right now. More than ever before.
Let us hope this kind of thing does not escalate, as we continue to endure the "Prayuth precipice".
Thailand is still a very safe place for most of us. Not Dark Tao. That is a very dangerous island. At least it used to be. A poster on here commented on another related thread, that they finally got rid of the serial killing son of the headman of Sairee Beach. Somehow. That likely makes the island safer.
Death Island, if the Thai police had done their job properly the boy and his uncle would have been caught, but no. Thais can do no wrong, so two burmeese boys get arrested. All of Samui knows what happened, and the nest was run from Chumpon.

We aliens like to have quiet because it helps us relax, and sometimes contemplate the meaning of life (even if we never find the answer). It gives us the opportunity to think. Thais do not like to think because it can be complicated. They are also selfish and don't care what affect their noise has on anyone around them. It's a cultural thing. Me First again.
By the way, the meaning of life i⁸s 1 - to find a way to do less work for more money and 2 - find clothes to wear that never need ironing. I've accomplished both so can live happy ever after ????Thais plant the rice

I have a bad feeling about this, this person has never done anything for the people, he like most modern politicians is an opourtunist looking only for gain at anybody expense, this is virtue signaling at its most pathetic. When the people wake up tp the fact that they have been lied to, deceived and God knows how many will have died due to his total indifference he will play the 'But I gave up my salary to help you card' the vaccine is at best questionable (unless of course you are selling it to the public). For a fraction of the People's money he and his cronies have wasted on secondhand subs and gunships he could have supplied the whole population with sufficient Ivermectin to tide them over for the next two years, and despite what the western press Who and every other monkey with questionable motives...Yes it does work, and it is extremely cheap and effective. Although your local shop will tell you it's for chickens - for which it works against parasites, true but there is a version for humans, format is 2 x 12mg tabs day one, skip a day, 2 x 12mg tabs day three; bingo you're covered for a month. Stop believing the TV and media. Stay safe xx.

Having said that open the account in her name but with no drawing rights or not without your specific authority. Whilst you may have absolute faith in your stepdaughter, the pressures that can be put upon her once family members know she has 1,000,000 Bt will be unbearable.

The answer to your question is no, very difficult these days to open normal accounts without some form of residency. What your suggesting would be termed an offshore account and usually come at a premium.
I fail however to see the doubt you have over a Dutch account, UK immigration will know that either would have been funded recently and I suspect seen in the same light.
I would suggest that you use the Dutch account and write a sponsorship letter to the effect you have funded the account and are prepared to meet costs incurred during the time in the UK.
It could be the university will pay retrospectively so the student would need funds to get started before the funding kicked in.
When my niece was at uni in China we had an account with a Chinese bank here in Thailand and we would deposit in Thailand and she drew it out from an ATM in China. May be worth looking at a UK bank that has branches in Holland. Wise would also be an option, used to be called Transferwise.

28,277 cases 92 deaths or 1 in 307 and of that 92 how many were actually due to Covid. What with air quality, diabetes, and natural causes I fail to appreciate this is remotely serious. I would suggest the restrictions both in Thailand and worldwide have posed a much greater danger and loss of life.

...and the Thai vaccine farce continues.
If they'd had the foresight to be part of Covax then they would already be administering hundreds of thousands of shots.
There is an old saying in medicine that “the cure may be worse than the disease.” The phrase can be applied to vaccines. In the current paper the concern is raised that the RNA based COVID vaccines have the potential to cause more disease than the epidemic of COVID-19.

Who were those scammed? Thais, foreigners or a mixture of both? In this day and age it amazes me that so many people are so gullible. If it appears too good to be true, then it invariably is. Keep clear!
Yes I agree..but his timing was excellent; so many thousands out of work with no chance of income, both Thais and Falang...it was the setting for the perfect scam. But my heart goes out to those who thought they had found a lifeline only to have it snatched away.
