I'd this the same document as for Non O married to thai proof of income?

After you get the one year extension by proving the 40k baht income you do not have the income until you apply for the extension. At that time you would have to show the income for 3 months prior to the date you apply.
If you get the multiple entry non-o visa you could get your new entries at the crossing in Mae Sot or at the Ban Phu Nam Ron crossing in Kanchanaburi.
Sorry Joe your first paragraph??
Come again please?

A Non-O visa based on Thai family (wife) is very easy to obtain at Savannkhet without showing any financials as of last month when I was there. Take the original marriage certificate, a copy of wife's ID card and House registration along with a letter from the wife asking that you be given a Non-O visa. As always have pictures and copies of documents. Submit application before 11 am in Savannakhet and pick up passport with visa the next day after 2PM.
hey thanks for your reply. What will you do for an extension now?

Thanks guys. For clarity my salary is regularly above 40k So I will consider this again. However if for whatever reason say I take 6 months off. Can I get some information regarding the leaving every 90 days?
We live in Uthai Thani
My friend I mentioned earlier lives in Bangkok so he goes to the border with Burma.
Anything closer for me. Could I use Mae sot?

Many reports here of others who make the trip to Lao sound easy. I am planning to go soon.
However it's what happens next that has confused me.
My salary is straddling the 45k limit and so I really won't be able to meet the financial requirements. (Hence Savannakhet)
How do I apply for an extension?
Or is there another way?
A collegue of mine has suggested border crossings every 90days.
Is this really an option?
I have a UK passport.
Wife to be is thai with both uk and thai passport.

For one who resides in a forgotten province also. It's not impossible too. As earlier mentioned.

As Ubonjoe suggested. Get a proof of your residency from your local immigration office. Then take to Kasikorn bank. They will open an account for you with card and book and web access.

Hello!
I am having a bit of a freak out and i need your visa knowledge skills to tell me what i should do.
Here was my plan:
- fly to Bangkok
- stay on the tourist visa for 28 days
- go to the embassy and extend for another 30 days
- fly out on the 58th day to Laos or somewhere for a few days
- buy a 60-day visa out there and come back to Bangkok then travel to Chiang Mai
So, will that work?
My big concern is getting in as I have a single from London > Copenhagen and then to Bangkok with Norwegian airways
I have read that people have barely ever been asked about having a return or onward ticket. or if they have they have said they intend to use land borders and have been let through.
so what should I do, buy a single flight to Laos to just cover my bases? (and then not use it)
Any help for my confused worried mind would be great!
Thanks!
SETV's include 60days not 30.
If you apply for one before you set off

Border run required this weekend (arrive) Monday morn.
Although it is not my first time here it will be my 3rd time.
Tried looking for anybody's recent reports and could not find any.
Any advice?

Yes there is a bus from the bus station in nong khai to the bus station in Vientiane it cost b50

You have to cross the bridge to Laos from Nong Kai. Then from there to the consular section in Vientiane to apply for the visa.
The consular section opens at 8:30 and closes at 11:30 am for visa applications. You then pickup your passport the next afternoon at 1:30 pm.
I would guess at least 2 hours will be needed to get from the bus station to the consular section.
You will pay from $30 to $42 dependent upon your nationality or 1500 baht for the Lao visa on arrival.
Effective yesterday there will no fee for a single entry tourist visa.
Can't help on the room question.
Hotel opposite visa section about B1000

Hi I'm currently in the Uthai Thani region with my Thai partner on a SETV (60day) due to expire first week in November.
Question is I am planning to visit local immigration to extent by 30 days next month however following that extention what would be best to aquire another SETV as previously advised by Thai visa moderator.
Would a simple border run by car to say Laos work to aquire another?
I remember reading somewhere that only by arriving by air this would be possible?

Wise or unwise?
I've found an interesting way to rent an onward ticket.
Again your thoughts please.

What to do then if your immigration office will not offer this conversion?
Suggestion to leave the country instead.
Is there a way to ( educate). I use this term gingerly.
