I guess a lot of people ask that question before they come to Thailand, you can figure it all out before you move here.

Once you are here what are you going to do?Sit around all day?Nice for the first few months but the shine does wear

    of fast.

Do you have hobbies?Fishing? Traveling?Golf? All cost money and you will need to find something to occupy

    your time.

I have seen a lot of people turn slowly into alcoholics.

Thailand is a great country to stay imo but it is not for everyone.

Learn to say no and choose your friends carefully.

    Post of the day.

Far more such relationships end up in divorce though, the odds are against it working, but good luck to the ones where it has.

I would also like to see your statistics for your comment. I know  many that have gone back and been very  happy. Difference is the op is speaking honestly though TV.

  4. Is the babies father British? If the baby is born in the UK it will have British citizenship. However if the baby is born in Thailand and the father is British it will have dual citizenship. A lot more convenient if your friend spends most of his time in Thailand with the Thai mother.
    well said and very straightforward.
But surely a baby born to a Thai mother in the UK will also be entitled to dual citizenship?
as said before, the best way to have a child, is to be born in Thailand, and the father can register the child in the UK. Hence the child has no problems with the Thai side because he /she will have thai citizenship, and also be able to have a British passport. End of.

There's no need to register a birth in Thailand in order to have a British passport. As long as one parent is eligible to pass on their British citizenship, you can just apply for a passport. I got my 9 month old son (born in Thailand, mother from Laos) a UK passport very easily.

My query was why a baby born in the UK with a Thai parent would have difficulty getting dual nationality?

The reason is, dual nationality is not the same anymore, if a child is born outside the kingdom, the child is alien. But the uk as we know will give British citizenship to a donkey.
sorry brewter, but that's what I mean, you said you got your child's British passport easily, but Thailand is not the same, abd before I get shouted down, Thailand has it right,

  7. Please could someone tell me if it's legal to vape in Thailand. At the moment lm back in England and im coming back home soon, but I'm hearing some conflicting stories, some say yes I'm ok and some say don't even think about it. 8. This is the first post I'm doing, but I'm doing with a heavy heart. I do this not caring about trolls or people who might slate me.
Politicians are all scum, especially the ones in Britain, we now have a referendum in the UK now and all I can see is self interest. Europe has <deleted> the uk, but people still want to stay in. People forget all to quickly about the Kuwait war Iraq war Afghanistan war, where the french backed out. Sorry I'm trying to think who was there. Oh yeah I know (the Americans) or shall I say the Americans first then us.i know America has its problems, but by christ, I would rather be part of America than part of a cowardly Europe. Sorry if I have offended anyone.
