  1. I was in the special forces in germany and that is the reason i never will have a gun in my house. as soon the trigger is pulled it's none of your business anymore and a bullet flies as made for purpose over kilometers.

honestly, some pair of shoes in front of the door works wonder when you are not at home. That is my main fear or paranoia as i would hate it when my house getting raided and i am not present.

So are 20% of the posters here and 50% of the guys I have met when out having a beer. Is Thailand the number one destination for all you Special type fellas?

  2. I see people on here bagging on Phuket a lot.....I don't think most of you have been here, and if you did it was probably Patong, which I avoid as I live on a nice quiet beach which has around 30 people on a busy day.

In Big C in Phuket Town I have never had a problem when I ask for things....in fact I have never heard that phrase before. There is usually somebody who speaks English, and they usually go out of their way to be helpful. My main beef is the airlines like Lion who won't accept my credit card online. So I end up calling them after a number of failed attempts online, to be told they only accept Thai or Singapore issued credit cards. When I hear that I point out to them that it should say that somewhere on their website and then I wouldn't have wasted 45 minutes trying to fly on your airline.....of course this is met with silence. But Nok has their act together which makes life easy.

Off topic but check out the lion air thing. I book with a Canadian CC all the time and have never had an issue. That seems like a variation to the Mai Mee for you man. But seriously I book flights all the time DMK to CNX never had a problem

  3. Thai Buddhists are no different from Christians who are against abortion (because only God has the right to take back what He has given) but support the death penalty. Every country, every religious group has its contradiction coffee1.gif

Religion is a farce all over the world, just because they call themselves (insert religion) does not mean they really act like it. People love cherry picking what they need.

Its the same all over the world.

Its NOT a farce its a damn LIE based on nothing with zero evidence......Im always staggered by its grip on people, rather than just accepting we "dont know" the answer to everything we make up some mystical being............incredibly it looks just like us.............CRAP nothing more..... and dont forget to say its "CRAP" is a crime in itself these days!! CRAP!!

It's a game of who has the cooler imaginary friend. Nothing more nothing less

  4. Try going to Myanmar. Old values still hold and as I was sitting in a small local café of sorts the old lady asked me where I lived while giving me a plate of curry goose. I said Thailand with out warning she laughed and said the road to hell is lined with orange robes. She then smiled and left. From that I gather that in Myanmar they see the practice of Thai Buddhism to be a bit out there as well.

  5. Good job man. Nothing wrong with a little do it yourself. People who hide behind rules and cower when they think the powers that be are watching are sheep noting more nothing less. I grew up with the theory of there are 2 types of people. People who bitch about problems or people who solve them. Glad to see you are the second. I have always worked in the same manner and if you were my neighbor I would have gladly helped and bought the beers after. Good work man

  6. Sell it here for the crazy inflated price they go for. Take the money to the US buy one with the cash you sold this one for. Then go to Disneyworld with the cash left over from the money you got here. Honestly if you have a bake here and its been in the shop a few times here it might have problems passing checks in the US.

  7. Excuse my miss understanding or lack of reading after the 2nd page but just a few quick questions. What time of day was it? What Airline? And lastly where did you fly in from? As I fly in and out for work quite often I find the airports to be quite different at some times of the day.

    Midnight , Emirates, Hong Kong

Ahh got ya. I am not sure on Emirates flights. But as I fly around the SEA region for work I can say it seems time of day you arrive seems to affect the service you get. Come in at late night always seems to get a grumpy eye as well as early morning. I find afternoon and evening seems to get the people in a hurry quite often a smile a point at the camera and wave you on. Fast track is by far not what it used to be and unless there is a huge que at the normal I will often skip the walk to the fast track and go in the regular customs line. Only good think about flying business on Thai air is the fast track out of the airport.

  8. There is a test of sorts I find. Take a trip into one of the areas with mountains in Thailand. When your there for a while and realize that your kinda stuffy nose is gone and you cough up a few nasty things (and are not a smoker) its a good indication of you living in a bad spot for air pollution. I have ridden from BKK to CM a few times and its almost as I can feel the different air quality once away from a major hub.

  10. I guess I have always been in the mind set of playing different courses. I like to play around and the idea of being stuck to a "home" course does nothing for me. Being I grew up on the west coast of Canada golf is rather in expensive as well. Thai golf is quite a bit cheaper than the other countries around the area, More courses and choices to. Working in KL for a few years a while back opened up my eyes to the cost of a round at times. I think it's like most anything else though check the amount you intend to play and the deal that course gives. I would wager that one could find some solid deals if they want a "home" course.
