  1. " he heard that his girlfriend was having an affair" was she? Maybe someone loose tongue has a lot to answer for?
  2. What is wrong with Thai men? Loss of face! Mental age of a 10 year old. Why was he carrying a kitchen knife?
  3. Thai drivers regularly use only brakes to slow and stop. I hear the clutch disengage as they free wheel down hills and up to traffic lights. Frequent use will over heat the brakes and quickly lead to failure due to heat, especially trucks and large buses. I have witnessed this many times when passing them on my motorcycle when there is stop/start heavy traffic. Also the brakes won't work while the driver is looking at his phone and not where he is going.
  4. It's going from ridiculous to bazaar. Markets are jammed every evening, dark damp smelly places with filthy floors, " oh that's ok, Covid doesn't go there" Covid only attacks after 9pm when people are drinking alcohol! I do think it's careless to gather in crowds in this pandemic but you should have a choice. However it's a night to remember, running from the police, jumping walls ect. Ha ha. I can remember years ago doing similar!
  5. I agree 100% . Sadly all over the world. But on the internet and make money, bring back the stocks and death for those bast####.
  6. Assuming she came out of south Pattaya road on to the sukmivit at 3-30 am. I've heard on many occasions the street racing on the sukmivit at this hr from my apartment. Pick-up trucks (maybe cars)tuned up with noisy exhaust probably black smoke, racing from lights to lights (if they are red?) maybe 4 abreast and bung! Really not hard to miss on empty roads. I live over 1/2 a km from the road. multiple cylinder motor bikes also. No police! Not even one with a camera! What about the cctv? Oh I know only 10% work.
  7. If they turned the lights out they wouldn't have seen them especially if they kept their eye's and mouth's closed.
  8. I've been in Pattaya area for 13 years, in the first 10 years I've done some stupid things, wandering around back streets, drunk lost in the early hours of the morning. I never had a problem, laughs with the few Thais taking the <deleted> out of "farang mow". I wouldn't dare now in the day time sober. Taxi drivers are aggressive along with the smack heads if you look at them wrong. Thanks to the covids I think or what exactly is in that vaccination! "Land of smiles" has gone.... Hopefully not for ever!
  9. The police don't know, nor do the instructors or the license department. If you fail your test 3 times they will give you a pass for trying!
  10. If you are going to contract Covid the number 1 place is the daily market, crowded enclosed places like long bus trips or plane would be number 2. Needless to say I have not done either for nearly 2years. Boring but safe.
  11. I surprised it's so high! 8 years teaching in schools in Thailand I have found that. Very few Thai English teachers can speak English to a simple conversation level. English lessons are always taught to be fun and games. Correcting a Thai teacher is a big mistake. (Loss of face). Every student will pass their tests, even if they can't right their name in English. ( Thai never fail). Thai can attend class whenever they want. 30mins late? "Toilet, toilet, toilet", "what for 30 mins?" (Thais are never wrong). Thailand is the worst English speaking nation in ASIAN? ( Every one else cheated).
  12. Unfortunately I think you're correct. I've always said "you can't stop a mutating virus, as in the flu" we have as long as the government want us to have the restrictions.
  13. What was just said "culture is more important than personal choice" ? Something is seriously wrong here and I fear it will end in tears and violence.
  14. If I was brave enough, I'd go to beach road opposite soi 9 and record dozens of police riding on the pavement some without helmets. But it's not good for my health or camera/phone.
  15. They were the unbreakable cloudy glasses, the sort you get around swimming pools that sell drinks. The band was good, very loud rock music and probably 60-70 people there on Tuesday night. I thought there would be a raid!
  16. If you have no stop/give way lines and right away "up to you cap", give way to side roads because Thailand is polite, " cap", pull out then look "cap" and ride in the gutter "cap" with out any lights "cap" you'll have the many deaths "cap"
  17. Not a motorway, one of many multi lane main roads around Sri Archar.
  18. I heard it was flooding! Or NAM <deleted>. " How do Thai say it?
  19. So they should, I always ask in company or just leave if it's obvious like children or eating. General curtsey.
