Thanks. I will take a baht bus north on second rd and then a east one on Pattaya Nua.

I am staying near Pattaya Klang.
Thanks

I made the journey safe. The bus always stops at Pattaya Klang (2nd stop) and the driver will shout loud and clear.
After I got off the bus the taxi mafia harassed me, but I was smart enough to study the google street view and walked over the bridge to Pattaya Klang.

I have just checked a few places and definitely TT is the best. I was surprised to see that TT will pay for euros more than the xe market rate. So people exchanging euros are making money! The loss on the dollar is about $1 for every $100 of $20 bills you sell.

Probably Super Rich. Their website is offering B32.06.
According to google maps there is only 1 Super Rich shop in Pattaya, and apparently it's not the same company as super rich in Bangkok. It's a scam.

Hi!
Where can I get the best exchange rate for $20 bills in Pattaya?
Thanks

Anyone knows if the Roong Reuang Coach from the airport to Pattaya stops at the central Pattaya road intersection?
In their website (http://airportpattayabus.com/V2/airport-to-pattaya/) it only says it stops at the hospital, south pattaya intersection and Jomtien.
Thanks

I read something about having to register the sim card.
Will the store employee help me register it, or I have to do it on my own?How much does the pay-as-you-go plan cost? I only need to make very few phone calls. I don't need any data.
Thanks -

If I was you I would look into a "Usufruct" for Thailand if it is not too late, as this offeres you the best protection and rights in Thailand. I few telephone calls and you shouldn't have trouble finding a lawyer in your area to draw that out for you. It is well known here. The cost also wasn't very high, although I can't rememeber now exactly what it was, but under $300. I had mine drawn out in Thai and also English, and witnessed by the Lawyer.
With a Usufruct, you wife would still be the owner, but you would have rights to use this house and land as you like for the rest of your life. You can even rent it out to somebody else if you like for up to 3 years at a time. You can reap all the profits from the land as well.
With a Usurfruct you are also regestered on the Land Title for life. I brought in the papers from the Pawyer and it was done no problem. The Usufruct can only be removed if you die or agree to move it, or in a Court Settlement, as in a Divorce. No Contract you make with your wife in Thailand is binding, as a Divorce can break any of those, so not less protection than you have right now.
The best part of the Usufruct is that it is for life. In the even your wife should die, and the property changes hands, you can still stay on the property as before and until you die. Not sure you can do that with a rental agreement or lease. From my research it offers the best protection you can get in Thailand. I to was married two time before.
How would that "Usufruct" work in case of divorce or if the wife decides to sell the land? (knock on wood)

Their shared van at 250 baht every 2 hours is not bad. They don't mention any price for private service though.

There are no flights, there are no boats and there are no trains , and as you dont want to go by taxi, its either bus , bike or walk
What is wrong with bus? Buses have always been good to me.

Also available at the airport, as a rental service:
$5 * 30 days = $150 = 4881 baht
I can buy a device for 2000 baht, why would I rent for 4881?

Thank you very much for your perfect response.

Hello.
I am going to stay in Thailand for 30 days and I would like to check my emails on my laptop, and probably also google maps.
Not only I don't have a smartphone, but I don't like to read or type in small screens, so I use my laptop.
Can I buy a USB dongle and a sim-card in Thailand with a pay-as-you-go plan, or a similar tourist plan? Thanks

»Is there any step by step guide to start a small business in Thailand?«
If OP mean starting a business in general, I believe an education is the answer – there might be online options available – however, if OP mean how to establish a limited company in Thailand, there are many treads recently about this subject, with numerous good advises (I posted myself in some of them).
Consulting an experienced Thai business lawyer will often result in a step-by-step plan to establish a "small" 2 million baht Thai company limited with one foreign Work Permit as option. First informative meeting with a law firm is often free-of-charge; so that may bee an excellent place to begin, after reading some of the advises in previous Thai Visa Forum-threads.
Just searched the threads I've been posting in recently:
"Setup Thai company for property purchase, and ongoing annul costs"
"starting a new business in thailand" (My post here, about opening a restaurant)
–there are many more, if you use the Thai Visa search-function....
Wish OP good luck with the project...
thanks

Re investment here in Thailand yeah it's a rough ride however I would stay clear of the Bar, Food entertainment type of business,
However depending on the amount of funds you wish to invest with & how long you want to wait returns,
People coming here to Thailand tend to think ahh I can make a lot of money operating from the City no way,
My advise if you would like to live here & relax set up a Thai Company purchase 10/ 20 Rai (Land) & be patient for a few years you will make money,
You can build a House on the Property & live like a King as low cost to live here as the Cost of Living in Australia is going beyond reach,
I have done as per above & after 17 Yrs I can get a good return however I will leave all of my Property's to my Daughter to give her a good start in life,
Good Luck Mate
I thought farangs could not purchase land.

Thank you for all the responses, even the patronizing ones.
I have never lived in Thailand.
I was not asking for a guide on how to operate my business rather the legal step by step burocracies:
getting an accountant
going to the bank
registering the business
getting licenses
If i were to open a hostel i would definitely avoid the big city or the over saturated touristy areas. In such an outdoors country like Thailand there is market for rural hostels.
A restaurant on the other hand needs some population, it would be risky i admit.
Not being able to own more than 49% is a bit of a turn off.
Maybe I will try farming.

yes, but YOU didn't buy the land- not legally, anyways, not more than 49%...
OP asked about hostels and restaurants, wholly different than villas, and 2 businesses that are COMPLETELY oversaturated in any area in which there is sufficient traffic/demand/type of clientele to spur success...
and if he doesn't KNOW anything about the businesses (which he seems not to), that is a prescription for disaster...
I don't see a structural difference between a Village and a Hostel. You can turn a Villa into a hostel, and Vice versa.
