THere should be a decent  social welfare system, instead of 3000THB a month. But therefor everybody should register in place they live instead of the blue book, Everyone should fill in a tax form, everybody should be paid monthly.  A better tax policy could solve a lot of problems including a good medical care for everybody.

Which elderly people get 3000 baht a month?  My wife said her father got 700 baht a month a couple of years ago.  I doubt there's been an increase since then.

Yeah, they are and have been uneducated so far:

The Tsar, the writers as Dostoevsky or composers as Rachmaninoff. All uneducated? I suppose many Russians here got a diploma from University, which I can't day probably about most of Expats here.

    Do you agree?

I love these posts that go way back in history to support a point they are trying to make.  I read (a joke?) about a bloke and his Russian girlfriend in Moscow. He asked her why everyone kept looking at him.  She replied, because you look intelligent.  Stalin had all the intelligent people killed when he was in power.

Another one who is brain washed by the rambling orange buffoon me thinks.

Who'd have thought that Trump Derangement Syndrome would go hand in hand with EV Derangement Syndrome?

Biden is doing such a great job I can't wait until the VP takes over.  Next they'll want to get someone like Bubba from Forrest Gump to run the USA.  Forrest himself would be far to smart for Democrats to relate to.  LOL

In my experience, also pretty much everywhere reading the road a head will save your life and limbs time and time again...

I was reading the road ahead while crossing the median strip to visit a shop. Should have been reading the road behind too. Got smacked in the right hand front wheel by some idiot trying to pass at high speed. He had two empty lanes on my left. I think he came out of a car parking area and drove up the wrong side of the road in the direction he needed to go instead of crossing onto the correct side of the road. Lucky no injuries but also no pickup for me for a month. At least he admitted his mistake and was insured so no cost to me.

You tink to mut, the villages will get away with it, little to no contact with the outside. I used to think there would be a rush of unemployed coming back to the village from BKK but that hasn't happened. Yes they know about cov-19, they watch TV like anybody else, it just isn't part of their reality, like the rising and falling of the stock market it's virtual reality.

Maybe their daily (almost) intake of Lao Khao will kill the virus before it can get a hold! It seems to kill some of them!

Not sure why everyone blames the Government for the road toll.  If you want a nanny Government to take care of all your needs and responsibilities then you should stay in your western country.  This is a cultural problem that can be solved with education in the home.  I always make my kids wear seat belts in the car in Thailand, they hate me for it, but stiff.  Though when they grow up and have children in Thailand they will also make their kids wear seat belts.  The problem can be solved at home with education.  Perhaps wealthy car companies could help with more advertising regarding road safety.

You might be stretched a bit thin going to all the Thai homes to educate them. Thai parents don't care enough to teach or discipline their kids in anything (rare exceptions) and when they know very little about correct driving techniques or safety how can they teach them?

Why do these people insist on overstaying knowing very well that the long arm of the law will eventually catch up with them? I can’t imagine that it would be a comfortable existence, having to look over your shoulder all the time.
Could it be that they are fugitives from their own country? If so, then Thai immigration is doing everyone a big favor by rounding them up.

Maybe they like the place but can't/don't want to put 800,000 baht into a Thai bank for the privilege of staying.
