Ah yes the low leg kick ( Tae Tad ) is priceless.
I made the mistake of having the Thai characters for this tatooed on my left arm whilst drunk one day. Now everytime it is visible to Thai people I get a huge amount of interest which occasionally ends up in a forced demonstration.

Dude , you know your Taxi drivers!
Chung-loi , kow-jai mai ?

You have to remember that they are the toughest people on earth and the smallest skinniest little Thai dude is capable of kicking almost any farhang ass...even a prize fighter.
Hmmm , like to see that one proved !
Granted they are tough people , but having trained in a boxing camp ( Sityodtong ) I can safely say that there are tough Thais and un-tough Thais.
In a scrap situation they will probably put more effort in than a tourist/expat because they have less to lose, but if they receive more than they expected they will back off like any other race.

Isaan is famous for eating dogs.
Ummm I agree they eat dogs in Sakhon Nakhon , but about 15 million people in Isaan would not be pleased with your generalisation , my wife included....lol
Edited by RDN because it was all screwed up!

Rented accomodation is easy enough to get in Bkk, as long as you know where to look, ( agencies etc) , its probably best to book a hotel for a couple of nights and ask around.
Regards where to stay longterm , do you like beaches/cities/neither etc ?
Personally I would do a mini tour of 4 or 5 places that fall into your criteria, then make a decision based on your own experiences.
Have a gret time!

TBH getting married in Thailand and getting a visa for the UK are two different things.
To get married in Thailand would take next to no effort, if you wanted to return to UK as a couple, thats another story.
Rephrase your question if thats the case , I have experience in this field ,as do many others here.

He He , in the beer bars, if it's a girls birthday they will have baloons and such outside. You can usually get some free food at these events. Obviously Roger drinks in higher circles than some of us

Shouldn't it be "You know you've been slumming in Thailand too long when..."?
How about you start a new thread ? " You know you've been living in a tower of ivory too long when ? "
a) You keep posting in the wrong forum.
You argue with every ones opinion.
c) You think people are interested in yours.
all hypothetical of course.
