I've got a Beto and I am very happy with it. Pumps the tyre up quickly & easily.

OK Thanks very much for all of you who replied. My body weight is pretty steady around 80Kg. I mainly ride on tarmac roads (+potholes) & concrete.

I'm looking for advice regarding tire pressures. I have Bontrager AW1 Hard Case Lite 700x32 tires on my bike. On the tire it says inflate to 55-100 psi. For "normal" road riding, what pressure should I inflate the tires to? When would I need to inflate to 100 psi? All advice greatly appreciated.

I've heard good reports about the military hospital but never used it personally. As far as St. Marys vs BKK I would choose St. Marys every time and that's based on my personal experience.

Best of luck to the OP.

The way the duo trap works is it detects a magnet attached to your rear wheel and your left crank arm to display speed and cadence.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkThanks for the clarification

If you don't have a computer yet suggest getting something like a Garmin Edge 25 which has GPS built in and will show you speed without any sensors on your bike
Thanks I'll look into this model.

What do you want to know? It provides cadence and speed, if you don't want to stick magnets on your wheel you could use a Garmin sensor instead, one wraps around the front or rear hub for speed and the other around the left crank arm. Easily removable and transferable across bikes as well (if you have more than one), Wahoo also offers something similar to the Garmin system.
I dont think i would need to attach magnets to the wheel as my bike is compatible with the Duo Trap and the literature says:

Thanks for the reply. At the moment I only want to know speed & distance traveled. I haven't ridden a bike in anger for more than 40 years and am just getting to know my bike.

In a place like Chiang Mai, where apparently you have to start queuing at 4am how can you possibly get a same day bank letter?
Not all offices have the same application of the rules / requirements. Best to ask your local immigration office in advance of your application

According to section 38 of the 1979 immigration act, "House owners, heads of household, landlords or managers of hotels who accommodate foreign nationals on a TEMPORARY basis who stay in the kingdom legally, must notify the local immigration authorities within 24 hours from the time of arrival of the foreign national."
A person on a Retirement Visa lodging for 1 year or more is not temporary basis lodging, is it? So on that basis, I would say , by Thai law, you would not have to register via TM30 if lodging long term. Reporting addresses on arrival card and by the 90 day method surely would be enough and following the rule of law.
And if you consider "1 year" = temporary, can I convince you that staying in your own condo full time forever is not lodging temporarily, surely?
Heading out from your permanent lodging to stay in a hotel would then bring the TM30 into play.

I don't make the rules. I just follow them.
Have a rippa day everyone. The title on the TM7 form is "Application for Extension of Temporary Stay in the Kingdom" and at the bottom of the page it says "I wish to apply for an extension of temporary stay in the kingdom for another period of ....... days."

What do you have that you want transferred? Unless on an extension of stay there is no need to do any transfer. If you have a visa entry you can just leave the country.
If you have an extension you will need this form completed. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/transferstamp.pdf
Copies of every page of your old passport that have anything for Thailand on them. Copy of new passport photo page. Letter from the embassy.
I have a one year extension of my permission to stay and a multiple re-entry permit.
OK. I already downloaded the transfer form in your link but wasn't going to use it as it is addressed to INSPECTOR OF SUB-DIVISION 2, BANGKOK IMMIGRATION DIVISION . Since I will be going to the newly-opened Buriram Immigration, I think I'll wait and see if they have their own version of the form. I've read elsewhere that they are using different forms than the ones Surin Immigration use.
Thanks to everyone for all the advice given.

I'll be going to Immigration sometime this week to get the appropriate information transferred from my old passport to my new UK passport. What supporting docs do I need to provide? Is it simply a copy of my old passport, the ID page of my new passport and the letter from the UK Embassy confirming I have a new passport / asking Immigration to do the transfer?
Any advice appreciated

Thanks @willyumiii. I actually have the list of what is required (in Thai), so I should be good to go.

For your extetion you wil basicly require everything you submitted the first time you applied with updated dates and new photos.
I just make fresh copies of previously submitted forms with current dates and take three new photos, if none of my information has changed.
Don't forget your a current proof of income letter dated less than 6 months in advance.
Depending on your country of origin, a noterized letter from your embassy may sufice,. People of many countries are required to provide current bank records as well.
If not too inconvienent, stop by a week or two early and ask for a list of what is required and if anything has changed since last year.
You should have everything filled out and in the proper order when you come in to reply, the immigration office is no place to sit down and start filling out blank forms.
Again, arrive prepared and you should have no problems.
@willyumiii: Can you tell me the "correct order" of the forms please?

My last 7 extensions of my permission to stay in the kingdon have been "RMMRRMR" and each time I changed from "M" to "R" or vice versa, the new extension has started from the date of application and not the end of my current permission to stay. I argued vigourously the first time but once I realised my argument was falling on stoney ground, I just accepted that thats just the way it is....

I've lived here permanently since 2009. I'm one of the "lucky" ones who has been able to do 7x90 day reports online. Our lass has never submitted a TM30 (Foreigner living at her house) and I have never submitted a TM28 (Change of address) despite having lived at 3 different addresses since I arrived. Never been asked to fill in the "new form", but they (immigration) have most of the information on file already, so I'm not phased. All will be revealed when I renew my permission to stay in the near future
