  1. Does the "Lucky break" apply to a work permit holder who says uses their work permit to work say in two schools where the permit bears only the name of one of the schools? My school gave me a free day to work in another school that they looked it for me. What are the consequences if I am caught in the school that I work for one day a week? Will the lucky break apply in my situation if I am caught? Because they will say I am working in a different school with a work permit from another school. Thanks for your feedback.

Not in my experience...but then I'm not a psychologist.

Let me remind you. Do you think they are very comfortable with the strictest Lese Majeste laws in the World? How do you feel when you are compelled to smile when a severe reaction is needed? You smile and pretend to forget but the matter keeps bubbling in your mind. How do you feel with "Mai pen rai" when you know that it should be "Pen rai"? They keep saying "Never mind" when they mind it so so much and keep dying in silence.

  3. Thais are often too violent because they have been silence in their thinking and are conditioned to act often against their will for too long and they have a million and one things/problems in their minds/hearts that are eating them up but they can't speak them out. So with the least problem, they are forced to explode like a bomb. When one speaks their mind, they are relieved of all the burden that are in their minds. When one carries so many problems in their minds, they can only be an angry person and will always act violently when there is a small problem.

iPhone payments and motor bike payment eats up the majority of their salary. Its also why they never leave home

Setting false standards, cutting their clothes more than their sizes. How on earth is someone earning 13k and takes a car that she pays 7k per month? My gf told me they do this and at work can't eat, eat noodles every day, park their cars and borrow her bike to run around due to no fuel. Look for men here and there to meet up with life's demands, etc. It is a sham.

so why is it on this forum that nobody ever talks positive?   i think my real bitch is about all the negativity on tvf..  day in day out people move to thailand and just complain about things.

I think you should read this from Sanemax "Did you read the thread title and really expect to see some positive comments ?

The very nature of this thread clearly suggests that comments will be of a negative nature" The thread is asking for bad aspects or bad side of our Thai wives or girlfriends. How do you then expect to see positive replies???????

I am quite sure bus will be more dangerous that airplane.

By air is the best option. One friend was on overstay and went to Bangkok by bus and as he left the bus station with his luggage, a police officer corned him and got 10k from him with all the threats of sending him to the IDC and him missing his flight out of Thailand. When the police see foreigners at the bus station with luggage, they suspect that they may be on overstay and may be leaving. At the airport, they are mostly concern with checking your name and the name on the air ticket as well as the photo to confirm that you are the person.

There's an old saying in Thailand that I've found valuable to remember through the years:

If you're living here, best to be worth more ALIVE (to those around you) than dead.

I have a will and other financial documents in a very well sealed envelope at home. The wife knows it's there (but not the details of what's inside), and that she should open it if I ever die unexpectedly.

But I've also told her very clearly, if she ever opens it BEFORE I'm dead, that I'll cancel everything inside. (I'm not sure I'd really do that, but that's what I've told her repeatedly, in no uncertain terms).

Curiosity will force her to open it before time. Women are what they are.

  9. I think you are making a mistake. The immigration is giving fines to people who are resident in Thailand and not to tourists in my opinion. Someone for example registered their address and has been using it to do the 90 days reporting and has changed address (changed the home) but didn't care to use the new home's address to do the 90 days reporting. Of course if the immigration finds out this, they will fine the individual.

That's a Ferrari 458 Italia. Doubt one can get it for 'just' THB2m. Especially not in Singapore. Even in Malaysia where the import duties are lower, it's going for a little more than that. But, it's not the newest model (the newest being the 488 GTB) so if one bought it second hand, it might be closer to the THB2m bracket.

Where did you keep the 0 after 2? I thought I read 20m and not 2m baht.

Sure, if I have a sudden medical emergency, the police are going straight to the immigration office to search through their records to see if there is a foreigner information form with someone to contact in an emergency. That is far easier than having a "who to contact in case of emergency" card in my wallet.

So the only problem that you think and know you could have is a medical situation? Did you see anywhere in my post that I mentioned any medical situation? Someone's life being in danger could not only be a medical situation. The example that I gave was not a medical problem. When you create suspicion by claiming not to know things that anyone knows that you know or you should know, you draw attend to yourself and hiding information in this case, one may be tempted to think that you have something to hide.

  12. Do you really think leaving out information that is vital to your life in here is waste of time and paper? What if something happens to you and they need to contact someone who could help safe say your life if you were in any danger? We shouldn't just criticize for the sake of the word but we should be objective in our thinking. I think giving the names and contacts of people who could be contacted if something goes wrong with you here is very important. What do we really think the immigration can do with say the contact of a person you give from your country or even a friend you give their contacts here? Will they go harrasing them in any way???? I think a big no. It is also very important to know the contacts of people will deal with or that of family members. I went to Myanmar for a Non B visa and when I returned to Thailand, the immigration officer said I was a footballer and almost sent me back to my country. I told him I had a teaching job and was in Myanmar for a Non B visa. So he said ok and that he needed to call my school director to confirm what I was saying. I had no document with me from the school as I left everything at the embassy in Myanmar. But I had the director's contact (though I had been in the school for only half a month) He called the director and I was let go with ease. If I didn't have that contact, things would have gone bad for me. We shouldn't hide information that is for our own interest and safety.

  13. I think it was posted by the lady and her friend or husband that the watch was of little value. So even if they were still in THailand or knew it in Thailand, they wouldn't have reported it to the police because it was not worht the pains due to the low cost of the watch. Many posters here confirmed of similar thefts by those same kids. So what are police making this too much noise as if those kids are angels???????

Yes, very tempted. The reception in my lobby told me AIS is fastest. What speed do you find sufficient? They have 15/5, 20/7 and 50/10.

Also, did you find any English entertainment channels on the playbox - in the AIS store they said it was all Thai.

As an aside, how good is the playbox as an android set top box? They do allow you to select the package without the playbox for 150 baht less per month, so after a year you'd have paid 1800 just to rent it... maybe worth doing if it's a high end piece of equipment though.

I am very sorry that I don't know all those details. But the connection that we have is very fast and effective. The gf did it for me so have little knowledge about it.

  15. Go for AIS and if the promotion is still on, then it is only 550 baht per month. You will have many English channels like Euro News, DW, NHK, Asia News, France 24 and more still in English but no Al Jazeera, BBC and CNN. There are many sports channels with each appearing double-one in Thai and the other in English.

I think for the poor family members here, it is easier to find the Burmese guilty because they can find closure easier that way. Of course this is an unconscious thought process stemming from Thailand offering to them 'guilty' people. If they do not believe that these 2 are guilty, then in their minds they still do not know what happened to their loved ones, and so the suffering and painful search would continue.

If the families of the victims should find closure on innocent scapegoats who have been condemned to death and will die like their love ones too then it means they will never find any closure because the ghosts of the two scapegoats will haunt them forever. In MHO they should be fighting hard to know the truth and that will give them more closure than allowing two innocent souls to be killed in the name of finding closure. That closure will be false closure indeed.

  17. It is very disturbing that the police officer in charged arrested the brother of the headman and said that the son of the same man had escaped to Bangkok and that they were in the process of arresting him from evidence the police had. He also said they were not scapegoats. Why was he removed from the investigation? What happened with the CCTV evidence that he said led to the arrest of the headman's brother? This is injustice of the first rate brand. In a country where dogs' lives are valuabled more that human lives, getting two innocent foreigners to put them on death roll is not strange.

No it is not what you think  I just in love with my mife

Your wife? Move on. She is not more your wife as she doesn't want you. So why keep talking of your wife as if you are still married with her?

If it is for Life Insurance it may be tricky for her to do this as usually you have to sign giving them permission to check into your medical history, or actually do a medical before they will give you insurance. But for accident insurance I see no reason why your Wife couldn't take out an accident policy on you. Although for a Girlfriend, there may be some restrictions as she might need to be a relative first. Not sure?

But what I do know for sure is that in the past I have had both life and accident insurance on me, with my wife being the one to receive this money in the event of my death, and she did not know about this. But I was only able to get Life Insurance after passing a company medical first.

I would say as a Girlfriend her chances are very slim for any kind of insurance unless it is some joint bank account or loan.

I have rolled out the possibility of her taking a life insurance on me. But I strongly believe that she wanted or she has taken an accident insurance on me. I will keep doing my findings and follow the advice given here. Thanks.
