When you arrive, you know it is safe and or you have the time to back in, otherwise you don't, but you don't know what the situation will be when you are ready to leave.

Most of the time I back into my parking space.

Excellent point. The middle lane between two parking area is small in Thailand as well space next to your car. If it is big enough, more often than not, people might double parking (Suvanabhum airport, there is even a sign saying double parking is allowed). If above circumstances happen, backing out of parking lot will be more challenge. Backing into parking space can avoid these.

  2. There is no old ginger right now. You need to wait until next Month for semi-old ginger. The 100% old ginger needs to wait until February.

But I guess your friend will not need you to find them, because he can find from his regular channel.

I know there might be some refrigerated old ginger out there, but they are pre-ordered, you can not get it, the final stock should be out right now, because new stuffs will be out next month.

Fruits/vegetables are like this. When you hear people needing these stuffs in a hurry and willing to pay higher price, it normally means they are in severe shortage.

  3. I do not know paying in full. My experience is financing the car (Honda, BRV SV, 25% down-payment). Other than the standard extras (promoted interested rate, free first class insurance free for one year, rain guard, cheap tinted window film (which I did not want it and sales took another 3,000 baht off the total price) ), one dealer lowered MSRP for 20,000 baht. The other dealer didn't want to lower at all. Of course, the one who lowered the price got my business.

talk to the electric cy in your area. they may have special tariffs for BIG users.

It's true. They do offer special rate for big user. I was surprised that they offer discounts for industrial users when my colleague went to talk to them and got it. I thought it's a monopoly business. BTW, no, we did not offer anything under table, just sat down and talked to them.

  5. Hi, Crayfish,

Thank you for starting this great thread, I have enjoyed reading it very much.

You mentioned you thought about growing red claw crayfish commercially but didn't. May I ask you a question? What if someone grow commercially (I meant 5-6 rai), Where is the market? I have not seen this crayfish being sold and served neither in market nor in restaurants. Is there really a market out there?  Do Thais really eat this crayfish? Or is it possible to export to China?

Yes, if everybody had clearly defined roles, all roles were assigned, and everybody were competent, there would be no need for me to help out. But this is rarely how it works in practice.

I feel you. It's difficult to find competent staffs in Thailand. Higher salary helps, but it does not warrant us a competent employee.

Sometime, when we provide current up-to date information and tell employee.s They would think we as foreigners know nothing, because we are not Thai....... I think this is cyberfarng referred to.

Hi, I would like to buy a few crayfish for commercial breeding purposes. Where can I get them in Bangkok/near Bangkok area? I emailed ratchaburycrayfish a week ago but still no reply.

    Thanks

According to the last post of Ratchaburi crayfish farm facebook page, they are closed. I would guess that mean permanently.

  8. From my personal experience, you have to be familiar with the current business field you apply for in Thailand. They will ask you what you can bring to Thailand. How is your business model/technique/technology better than the others. For my case, this was crucial, because my company applied in agricultural field. They took it more seriously in this field. If you have strong background in this field, it also helps.

When you filled proposal, you provided flow chart and some projection for this proposal. They will go through it. You should know it better than anyone. If they think there is some flaw in the chart, you will get the chance to amend you proposal. Do not worry too much.
