1 hour ago, Promula said:The interesting thing is, this is a legal document intended for use in court. Simply ticking a box without having a reasonable belief and evidence that you are unable to leave Thailand could cause serious problems later. That's why I think those that are feeling happy that no evidence is apparently required to be supplied with it are unwise.
This form isn't a generous gift by the IOs. It's a sworn oath.
The first checkbox says:
I am not permitted to enter the destination country OR the pandemic situation of Covid-19 is still ongoingAs long as the pandemic is ongoing I'd have no problem signing this document

Hello everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on what options I have for registering my newborn to a tabien baan. My wife and 1st daughter are registered to my mother in law's house book. However, my wife and her mother have had a MAJOR falling out. We don't expect that my mother in law would allow us to add our new child to her house book when the child is born in September.
My wife and I own a piece of land in Chiang Mai and are planning to build a house, but it won't be complete before the baby is born next month. What options do we have in order to register the baby within 15 days of birth? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll go for the 3rd non-o visa

Hello, I'm wondering what visa options I have. Here's some info about myself:
- I'm on the last leg of my 2nd 1 year Non-O visa based on marriage, both issued in Savannakhet, Laos
- 29 year old Canadian male married to a Thai national
- My wife and I have a 2 year old daughter
- I just received a new passport because my last one had no pages left. My Thai visa is in my old passport
- I do not have 400k baht in a Thai bank
Some questions I have about the visa:
- Can I get a 1 year extension of stay for my current Non-O visa? My new passport does not have the Thai visa in it
- Will there be any issues if I apply for a 3rd Non-O visa in Savannakhet?
Thanks in advance

Ok I'll be sure to have those signed

Ok that's good to know, thanks!

Do you know if my wife needs to come with me to apply? Our child does not have a passport and want to know if my wife can stay with the baby in Mukdahan

Great, thanks!

I'm on my last leg of a Non O Visa for marriage to a Thai wife and am wondering what options are available next. My current visa was issued in Savannakhet for 1 year with no financial proof required. I also have an 8 month old Thai child if that makes any difference.
Will I be able to apply for the same visa in Savannakhet again?
Is it possible to extend this visa without financial proof?
Thanks

Thanks to everyone that replied. It sounds like it won't be a problem which is great to hear

If they didn't ask you for it that's good news. Hopefully it will be the same for us.
If anyone else has been through this process at Savannakhet, please let me know what documents they required from you

This is what I found on the Thai Embassy site http://www.thaisavannakhet.com/savannakhet/th/consulate-service/inspect/
- visa application ( request at the Royal Thai Consulate-General Loading from the State Department or the stars dozen on the Download the App. ).
- Original passport with copy
- 2 x 3 cm photos of 2 cards
- Copy of marriage certificate with original
- Copy of house registration of spouse
- Copy of ID card of spouse
- Copy of spouse's passport
- Copy of birth certificate of minor (In case of a minor)
- A copy of house registration of a minor (in the case of a minor)
- Fee 2,000 Baht / 3 months -
I'm heading to Savannakhet, Laos in a few days to apply for a Non-O visa for marriage to my Thai wife. We have all of the documents listed on the Savannakhet Thai Embassy website, but just realized that my wife's last name on her passport does not match her new ID card, marriage certificate, or house registration. Will this be a problem?
Thanks

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply

Is the Friendship Bridge connecting Mukdahan and Savannakhet open every day?

That's great news, we'll head to the district office on Monday to check. Thanks

My Thai girlfriend and I (Canadian) are planning to get married in Thailand. My mother is visiting from Canada and would like to see us get married while she is here. I'm wondering if we will have enough time to get married before she leaves Thursday, July 13.
My girlfriend was previously married in Udon Thani about 10 years ago. She received her divorce certificate in Canada on February 2, 2016. The divorce certificate has already been certified by the Canadian embassy, translated, and stamped by the ministry of foreign affairs. My marriage affidavit stating that I'm free to marry has also been translated and stamped by the ministry of foreign affairs.
My girlfriends previous marriage was performed at the district office in Udon Thani. Do we need to return there to present the divorce certificate? It would be much easier if we could do everything at the district office in Chiang Mai.
Thanks

Ok awesome, thanks to you both

I found this post regarding the opening hours of this bridge, but it doesn't mention if it's open on weekends:

Awesome, thanks Joe!

Thanks Ubonjoe. Is there any required time period between signing the marriage papers and getting the Non-O visa? I'd plan to sign the marriage papers within the next 2 weeks and head to Savannakhet around May 15 to apply for the Non-O visa.

My Thai girlfriend and I are getting married and I’m wondering what options I have for getting a new visa. I’m currently on a SETV issued from Penang and will be extending it at Chiang Mai immigration before April 18. I don’t have the required 400k THB in a Thai bank account in my name to get a marriage visa. I’ve read that getting a Non-O visa based on marriage from Savannakhet, Laos is a possibility with no financial requirements. Is this still possible? I’m a Canadian citizen and have been living in Chiang Mai for 1 year on tourist visas.
Police visiting house 2 months after visa approved to 'recheck visa'

I received a phone call today from an unknown number telling me that he is an immigration officer and will be visiting my house tomorrow at 10 AM to recheck my non O marriage visa. However, the immigration officer was just at our house 2 months ago when my 1 year extension was approved. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a scam?
Thanks
