  1. 2000 baht per treatment for Thais around Pattaya area at government clinic. Thais typically get 2 treatment per week depending on their weight.

Farangs might get 3 which is typical in farangland depending on the treatment time and person's weight, etc.

Below are LTR Visa applications snapshots as of end of 31 Oct 2023 and 31 Aug 2023 to give an idea of activity over the last two months....from the BoI LTR website.   Seems to be around 300 applications per month.  Please note this is applications (applies); it does not say how many of the applications were endorsed (i.e., approved).   The Pensioner category is still the most popular closely followed by Work From Thailand Professional category.....Dependents category in third place.

Not even close to their goal. They were trying for 200,000 applicants per year?

I have a pension that is more than $80,000 and Pacifist Cross insurance. I applied for the pensioner LTR in Oct 2022 and got it with no problems at all. I submitted my US tax return to verify my income and never got additional questions about it. I submitted my Pacific Cross insurance certificate and they accepted that as well. You should have no problems. If they ask for more information just give them what they ask. Your situation, and mine, are as simple as it can get and exactly what they ask for on the BOI website.

Were you able to cross out your SS number? for risk of identity theft and security?

to say you got ripped off is an understatement

3 weeks ago i had inguinal hernia repair at Hua Hin Government hospital.

I was in for 2 nights, VIP single room, food, meds, nurses, everything...........19,000 baht.

    I had open repair.

I shopped around big time before choosing which hospital

all the private hospitals would give me an estimation, then ask me to sign a disclaimer stating, but if this, but if that.........etc..........i walked away each time......could see through them easily.

nearest quote i could get was 100k, but if, bla bla bla

Since you shopped around, how much private hospitals such as San Paulo and Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin wanted?

Many foreigners do NOT know that they can use a Thai Military Hospital once you are registered at THAT hospital. Many doctors are US or UK trained, English is usually not a problem.  COST: you pay the SAME cost as Thai civilians using the military hospitals.  It is slightly more expensive than govt civilian hospitals, way way less than a private hospital.

Yes, many foreign students all over the world apply to American school system for free tuition at the expense of US tax payers. Vast majority try to stay in America and few do go back to their countries, especially after making good money. Very common practice.

  6. I also had weekly package that got deducted so I only kept minimal balance and once that runs out no more money is taken since I have no money in my account. Once I return, I add the money again for my duration. You can also add time for validity using MyAIS app with bonus credit they give you for refilling in your country using the wifi connection so you don't lose your account/number.
