  1. Republicans are irrelevent in California. They did that to themselves. As California goes, so goes the nation.

This time next year, the Democrats will have the Presidency, the Congress and a progressive majority Supreme Court.

The Republican lemmings are all headed off the cliff with more calls to move further out into wingnuttia.

    Bye bye

This is what happened in California after a series of Propositions aimed at Latinos passed or were proposed.

"A record number of Latinos registered to vote and rushed to the polls. In a state where Ronald Reagan staked his claim as the godfather of the modern conservative movement, Democrats have swept every presidential and Senate race in the state since 1994." http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/trumps-california-campaign-shows-how-he-could-doom-the-gop

Here's another source to look at. http://www.latinodecisions.com/blog/2013/10/17/prop187effect/

I don't think pollsters are yet modeling for the huge increase in Latino voter registration that will surely follow Trump's nomination. And I'm sure that all the Trumpsters on this website don't even have a clue what's in the offing. In their mind. most of the latinos in the USA are illegal aliens, and, except of course, in California, won't be able to vote.

  2. I will tell you this...nothing is "going" yet...as the election is quite far off. How about now?

How has the past eight years been going for you? How has this all worked out for you?

You ready for four more..huh? good thinking.

I seriously don't know how democrats can deal with it....but you somehow do. facepalm.gif

good gravy...man! somebody help the poor boy out.

(sometimes I just wince at the insanity...and walk away) lol

You deserve what you got. deal with it.

Yes, and the man who promises to make it all better is going to accomplish this by making the rich and powerful even richer (thanks to yuuge tax cuts on them) which will make them even more powerful. And he hasn't forgotten the working people either. He's opposed to any increase in the minimum wage.

    GO TRUMP!!!

  3. Their not protesters! Their paid Thugs by MoveOnOrg by the Socialist Democrats. .They get paid $12 p/hr and most don't understand why

they are there. It's good pocket money while their on Food Stamps!

Wow, those liberals are actually paying above the current minimum wage in California. At least you can't call them hypocrites when it comes to how they treat their employees.

I'm sure you can provide evidence to support this contention. You wouldn't make such a damning claim without it.

  4. I don't think you have a clue about the size and fervor of the Nationalist Uprising going on in America led by Trump - It is an Anti-Obama uprising and will be against the Democrat that stands to further his agenda... it will drown out the effect of even those Illegal Aliens that Gov. Brown just signed a law to allow them to vote.

No, California didn't give illegal aliens the right to vote. http://www.snopes.com/california-motor-voter-act/

But what this and so many others of the untruths that the right wing subscribe to show how it is that Trump is on the verge of getting the nomination. Way back when, when most pundits and analysts, even the august Nate Silver were dismissing Trumps chances, one outlier was disagreeing: Paul Krugman. And the basis of his reasoning was this: Epistemic Closure. These people get all their information from right wing news sources. I used to cite fox news but now I'd say breitbart.com is more typical of their sources. And no matter how obviously improbable the claim is, they are unable to judge its truthfulness because their their sources of information are so tainted.

  5. Actually, he advocates violence against terrorists, torturing terrorists and killing family members of terrorists - not just anybody.

Oh that's okay then. Just terrorists and family members. Sounds good. Even better when you put it in BIG print. Well done Ulysses G. I can see everyone getting on board with torture now you have clarified things. I am sure things will go smoothly and the Middle East situation will be solved quick smart.

Trump is being undervalued Trump Make the World Great Again. Wow he's the man that's for sure.

Make that the alleged terrorists and the families of alleged terrorists. Another case here of doublethink. The same conservatives who allege that you can count on government to get things wrong somehow fail to apply that standard when it comes to the government alleging who is and who isn't a terrorist.

Of course the notion that it's somehow ok to torture the families of terrorists show how low the right wing has generally sunk.

  6. Every day climate change secondary to humans is proven fraudulent. Its no longer necessary to even tease the data, its self evident. From the fraud to the manipulation to the threats from climate changers/leftists its apparent... climate change is a socialist ideology that has cloaked itself in the priesthood appearance of Science.

Climate Change secondary to humans is another Long March. Its populated by lefists, radicals, liberals, etc. The entire poison and its antidote is contrived by the selective application and withholding of funds. Every single day in the news there is more proof regarding the Political Ideology of Climate Change being delusion. Science? Its ubiquitous.

People might be more receptive to this delusion if it was not populated by angry brown shirts couched as concerned citizens. Its despotic/

Political gobbledygook. 120 years of scientific research and evidence on GW / CC simply does not support your view. You have demonstrated post after post you do not have even a basic understanding of GW / CC science. Volcanic activity, Younger Dryas, all wrong.

    !20 years! 555555555555555555555

I remember when the "scientists" were predicting an ice age and that we should burn more carbon to prevent it, and I'm not 120 years old.

The only thing certain in life is that politicians will use any excuse to raise taxes, and CC, which is impossible to prove is based 100% on human activity, is ideal. The propaganda machines have been working flat out on this one.

I even remember when the "scientists" were saying sugar was good for you, and that smoking didn't kill you.

At one time a small minority of climate scientists said that. The theory never gained wide currency. http://www.skepticalscience.com/What-1970s-science-said-about-global-cooling.html

  7. There is always going to be a small minority of people swayed by self interested propaganda. This type of misinformation strategy occurred with Tobacco and cancer, lead in paint, Ozone depletion etc. In the end the scientific evidence wins out. This has been a hard fought issue as the sheer wealth of the Fossil Fuel polluters and their ability to disseminate misinformation and propaganda and bribe / threaten governments they fund. The UN 'historic climate change deal' puts an end to all that. The course ahead is set.

The Fossil Fuel polluters themselves did not believe GW / CC was a hoax they knew quite well it was an eminent threat they simply wanted to stall the process of transition to clean energy for as long as they could and protect their profits. They have been very successful over the last 25 years. The sad thing really is the world could be a lot further down the track in addressing Fossil Fuel pollution. A lot of valuable time has been wasted.

What fascinates me is the small minority of people who embrace misinformation and self interested propaganda and are drawn to it like moths to a flame. When ALL the evidence is pointing in one direction one Fossil Fuel funded blogsite brings any semblance of rational thinking crashing down.

This agreement marks the beginning of a new and exciting future as clean energy Corporations are formed new technologies creating thousands of billionaires. There is no end to where this new direction will take us. A cleaner more sustainable planet will just be a small by-product. Polluting Fossil Fuel producers will reinvent themselves or fall by the wayside. Their supporters and promoters of their propaganda can please themselves.

Thank you for this response. I disagree with your conclusion but applaud your delivery. Really. As an aside, I think the fossil fuel industry is about as corrupt as any mafia. I cannot calculate the harm they do to the planet, their gross suppression of alternative energy sources, and the stranglehold they have on global politics... and war. I support most efforts to curb pollution. As much as I detest their poor stewardship I would caution that the entire modern world is built upon petro derivatives, let alone its energy uses. When/if success arrives, and the fossil fuel people are homeless, everyone else will be also.

"All the evidence" does not point to the conclusion climate change[rs] posit. Indeed, "all the[ir] information" is specially culled and manipulated to harvest their "Climate Change" argument; it still does not even achieve their goal. "All of the information" excludes "all" the largest contributors of climate change, and these are solar, galactic, and electromagnetic factors. In the end many like me would be more malleable if it were not for the politics that so obviously motivate the entire debacle. Still, thank you for your fair comments above.

Unfortunately for you it does. No scientific evidence supports your view.

Is that all you've got? Some of us come up with hard data and this is the best you can do? I can put the essential content of what you've just posted into one small sentence. Here it goes: "The obviousness is obviously obvious."

  8. You didn't follow his response to the David Duke incident, did you?

He is responsible. He EXPLOITS the racist / fascist portion of his base, which is very large, and he is totally aware he is doing it.

It's all about winning for him and he knows, and he's correct, that he would have never gotten this far without his large base of horrible racist haters.

    Yes, he is responsible.

And the majority of Americans,. who are not like these disgusting racists, have got to make him ACCOUNTABLE for that political sin in the general election.

We have the opportunity for a revolutionary election to cripple the republican party for generations to come.

It's possible, even probable, the democrats can take POTUS, SCOTUS, take back the senate, and weaken the republican majority in the house.

So I say nominate the orange clown monster, and get moving to crush him.

I agree with your closing remarks. So, in sympathy with that, I say GO TRUMP!!!

  9. Here is an example of why Americans should be afraid of a President Trump in regards to his rhetoric against the FREE press.

A reporter did a profile of his wife.

There were SOME critical items in it, as you would expect from a reporter working in a FREE press in a FREE country.

But this reporter is a JEW.

This is what she got from Trump Nazis in response:

    http://forward.com/news/breaking-news/339709/journalist-flooded-with-neo-nazi-hate-after-writing-melania-trump-profile/

Like I said, he's got some very sick supporters and Trump does absolutely NOTHING to dissociate himself from the mentally diseased white supremacists / racists that comprise a SIGNIFICANT part of his base.

Trump isn't Hitler, but a lot of his supporters clearly want an American Hitler.

We all know what Putin has done to the free press in Russia. Trump shows strong warning signs of wanting to do the same in the USA. Such total evil must be resisted at ALL COSTS.

“The irony of this is that today, when I was getting all of this horrible anti-Semitic s—t that I’ve only ever seen in Russia, I was reminded that 26 years ago today my family came to the U.S. from Russia. We left Russia because we were fleeing anti-Semitism,” Ioffe said Thursday, according to the Guardian . “It’s been a rude shock for everyone.”

Ioffe fears that if Trump is elected president, freedom of press could be threatened. “What happens if Donald Trump is elected? We’ve seen the way he bids his supporters to attack the media, his proposal to change libel laws to make it easier to sue journalists,” she said.

However, TACTICALLY, I think leftist protests against him are a MISTAKE at this stage. Let him be nominated, he clearly is probably going to be nominated, obviously leftist street protests aren't going to stop it.

Then regroup and work on beating his movement into the GROUND.

Whatever his faults, and they are legion, I don't think Trump or any other candidate should be held responsible for the lunacy or viciousness of a few. Any more than the violent acts of a few protesters somehow indict the millions who are opposed to Trump.

  10. ^^^

What people like you posit is a huge conspiracy of maybe 25,000 scientists all around the world. This is plain nuts.

I'm sure you wouldn't stoop so low as to make that up so can you please cite a post where I have ever asserted there is a conspiracy among scientists?

By what mechanism other than conspiracy would 25,000 scientists not disclose the truth?

And you still haven't answered where you acquired the info that the Planetary Court was going to punish people who disagree with him.

  11. The Democrats must be worried by Trump to resort to this , they should take a good look at their own candidates

A good case of doublethink here. When Trump's people get violent it's because of righteous anger. But when anti-trump people get violent, it's because of a plot by Democrats.

An objective viewer would point out that this is evidence that Trump's ability to rouse up the electorate isn't confined to just his supporters.

What's more, the people who tend to favor Trump already have a higher electoral participation rate. But Hispanic citizens have traditionally had a low electoral participation rate. So they have lots more room to increase their level of participation.

There is no evidence that a band of Trump supporters have ever attended in mass the political rally of any other opponent Republican or Democrat and created a disturbance ... Trump supporters do not go out in the streets - block traffic, overturn cars, burn cars and generally act like gang members. There is a huge difference between Protest and Rioting with Violence... The Anti-Trump supporters have entered into breaking laws - blocking traffic, starting fights outside Trump rallies... and violently pushing, shoving and hitting people who have done nothing but attempt to attend a Trump Rally ... I think you have a strange view on events. If people become violent against Trump and his supporters in an attempt to shut down supporter participation that is ANARCHY ...

My point had nothing to do with defending the violence of those protestors. It was to point out the it isn't only the pro trump forces who his candidacy has aroused. And if you google hispanic voter registration, you'll see that Trump is having a big effect. And just the exercise of simple common sense will tell you which way that vote is going to overwhelmingly go.

  12. Wow, Your intellect astounds everyone....It must

Be wonderful to know what is or isn't in the mind

Tens of thousands of people you have never

met...care to share your "Chrystal Ball"...second

    Thought, keep it to yourself.

    President Romney 55555555!!!

That's right. TV ratings, market research all this stuff that billion dollar corporations use is just a lot of hooey. They should just go with their feelings like you. And now that the Supreme Court has brought them one big step closer to personhood, I'm sure that's in the offing.

  13. Dealing with percentages requires statistical data

that is always manipulated and mostly useless.

"Many" can refer to knowledge gained by interviews,

General knowledge derived from informal meetings,

And listening to the community response to problems,

And who might best serve their community. Case in

Point being; listening to the working class Lation

    Community.

You mean like in the 2012 election when most people on the right knew that the polls were skewed and that Romney was really winning? Remember how the right reviled Nate Silver and his skewed data? Exactly how many states did he call correctly? I believe it was a mere 50 out of 50. I guess he didn't listen enough to the community response to problems. Whatever that means.

And you might want to look up a little something called "Confirmation Bias."

  14. Not being a Yank, I have never really looked at your politics until now. I now watch CNN most days to get an update and can see how really bias their reporters are. Their reporters and panellists laughed at Mr. Trump, cajoled him, called him all sorts of names and when he gave it back to them, how they cried and whined about it and called him more names. And just who is organising these poorly attended protests, none at the Cruz or Kasich rallies, says something I think. Anyway, backfiring, just look at the free publicity.

If a woman wants to play the game then they have to take the knocks, they can't have it both ways. if they put sh@@##t on someone, then learn how to take it instead of falling back of the "Woman Card" and crying foul. Typical of the lefties in politics, can dish it out but cannot take it.

Now that Mr. Trump has 75 percent of the votes, poor old "Ted" and that other misfit, Kasich, joined forces and when it blew up in their faces, tried to deny that they had colluded to deny the front runner the nomination. Wait until Indiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, California, Washington State, vote, they will both be shown the door. Same for the "No Way Trump Brigade", fell flat on their faces. Everything these clowns have done, their ads, money and blatant lies have backfired, with the voters seeing through their BS and rallying behind Mr. Trump.

Now that Mr. Trump is gaining momentum, winning by more than 60 percent in New York and a couple of other states and 50 percent in 3 more, with a clean sweep on the second "Super Tuesday", just look at how the establishment and the press are now changing their tune. And poor old Hilary and her Democrats, believe me, are very worried, even if they pretend they're not.

Although there are a few things Mr.Trump probably wishes he never said, at least he had the kahunas to say them and it's about time someone came forward and called the establishment for what they are. They do not care about the American Citizens, only their own sorry and ensure they keep their noses in the trough. It is abundantly evident that they are really p@@@d because they have no control over Mr. Trump, who has rejected their interference and money.

My prediction, even though many may not like it, Mr. Trump will triumph in the Republican race and will win the general election. People, despite their allegiances, have had enough of the ruling political elite and want to be heard. They want governments to be of the people, by the people, for the people and that these arrogant elitists learnt that they are servants of the people, not our masters.

He may not be a polished politician but who needs them, anyone who can build a business like Mr. Trump has is far from being a fool and if some think he is, then give me this type of fool any day. He will bring a number of intelligent and worldly wise people to the fore, and will, I believe, bring about a more sustainable relationship with other world powers. I just hope you Yanks give the guy a go and not swallow the BS being spewed forth by Hilary.

Yeah, Trump is definitely going to hurt the ruling political elite. Money is power. He plans to cut their taxes hugely. Thereby giving them more money but less power? They must hate him for that. He also is against raising the minimum wage. Donald Trump strikes another blow for the American Worker!!!

  15. No double lead by the illegals on welfare and

Afraid they are heading back to their countries.

Many hard working Latinos support Trump and

Would like to see this element removed from

    The US.

I'll say one thing about your contention that many hardworking latinos support Trump: it's unfalsifiable. Of course, it's also meaningless without hard numbers. Care to define what you mean by many? How about putting it in percentage terms? Have you got anything that resembles data to support what you contend?

  16. The science on GW / CC has no political agenda other than to present the results of scientific research for peer review and to then be published. Scientists couldn't give a rats what politicians do.

James Hansen (formerly NASA’s chief climate scientist, and director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies for 30 years) recently gave a TED talk titled "Why I Must Speak Out About Climate Change." He has also been arrested, looking like an Amish farmer down on his luck, in front of the White House while on various protests, and led away in handcuffs..

Michael "Piltdown" Mann (Director of Penn State Earth System Science Center) spoke at AGU 2015 on the topic "If You See Something, Say Something" on why scientists need to speak up more to influence policy matters. That was also the title of an article he wrote for the New York Times, in which he talks about a "virulent strain of anti-science [that] infects the halls of Congress" and that "[t]here is a great cost to society if scientists fail to participate in the larger conversation"

Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, the founding Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, and also the chief climate advisor to the Pope, no less, has authored several treatises calling for World Government, a Global Council, and a Planetary Court for punishing people who disagree with him.

So whereas it may be correct to say that real scientists don't care what politicians do, climate scientists obviously care a great deal.

I read what Schellenhuber wrote about having a daydream about a planetary court. But I can find absolutely no evidence that he called for making it to punish people who disagree with him. I'm sure you wouldn't stoop so low as to make that up so can you please cite a reliable source?

  17. The Democrats must be worried by Trump to resort to this , they should take a good look at their own candidates

A good case of doublethink here. When Trump's people get violent it's because of righteous anger. But when anti-trump people get violent, it's because of a plot by Democrats.

  18. 2 words for you: Dick Morris

    and how about stuart varney:

Dick Morris was a GUEST on Fox News and I can not find a quote by Stuart Varney saying any such thing. Sorry if I don't consider Stephen Colbert, the comedian, to be a credible source. rolleyes.gif

Hannity is full of crap anyway. NEVER pay attention to him.

All you had to do was watch the broadcast on colbert. He has Varney up on screen saying it. Or do you thing he created a Varney CGI lookalikke.

As for you ignoring Hannity, well, does that mean he's not part of Fox?

  19. The science on GW / CC has no political agenda other than to present the results of scientific research for peer review and to then be published. Scientists couldn't give a rats what politicians do.

James Hansen (formerly NASA’s chief climate scientist, and director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies for 30 years) recently gave a TED talk titled "Why I Must Speak Out About Climate Change." So whereas it may be correct to say that real scientists don't care what politicians do, climate scientists obviously care a great deal.

I agree that up2u's quote was at best poorly worded. But the question is do climate scientists care because of the results of their research or despite the results? As has been cited here before, Dr. Richard Muller was a prominent physicist who questioned the temperature readings that climate scientists claimed strongly supported global warming. The Heartland Institute (the Koch brothers) funded him so he could assemble a dream team to reexamine climate scientists' use or misuse of this data. And what were the results? Muller's team found that their results exactly matched what climate scientists were saying. Do you have any idea of how astronomical the odds are against this being a coincidence? And what did the Hearland Institute do with these results. They ignored them.

What people like you posit is a huge conspiracy of maybe 25,000 scientists all around the world. This is plain nuts.

  20. We've seen this kind of reasoning before. Or is it unreasoning? Remember 2012? When Fox and similar outlets were claiming that the polls were skewed?

The usual dishonesty. Fox News never claimed any such thing. Some of their guests did and they also claimed the same thing on other networks.

2 words for you: Dick Morris

and how about stuart varney: http://crooksandliars.com/heather/colbert-mocks-fox-complaints-about-skewed

There's also this: "“They want to deflate enthusiasm of conservatives. The narrative the media would like to advance is, this is over, don’t even bother paying attention, let’s move on. That’s not true by any stretch. These polls are so skewed, so phony, that we need to start paying attention to what’s going on so that you won’t be deflated.”

This was Hannity on his sep 26 radio show. Unfortunately the archives on his website are so poorly arranged and dysfunctional, I couldn't get to the actual broadcast.

  21. We've seen this kind of reasoning before. Or is it unreasoning? Remember 2012? When Fox and similar outlets were claiming that the polls were skewed?

The usual dishonesty. Fox News never claimed any such thing. Some of their guests did and they also claimed the same thing on other networks.

2 words for you: Dick Morris

and how about stuart varney: http://crooksandliars.com/heather/colbert-mocks-fox-complaints-about-skewed

  22. Trump is going to mop the floor with Hillary. He's drawing record crowds and record numbers of voters and many of them are Democrats and Union workers who also want jobs.

There are whole cities such as Detroit that are wiped out due to loss of manufacturing jobs. There are places like Pennsylvania where the coal mines have been shut down by environmentalists even though coal can burn clean now. Those places have always voted Democrat but look where it got them.

Stupid Democrats talk against any type of fossil fuel but offer no alternatives while wiping out millions of jobs. The list goes on.

The same people who said he wouldn't last a month as a candidate then said he couldn't get the nomination and now say he can't beat Hillary.

Are people NEVER going to stop underestimating Donald Trump?

    Where to start with this?

First off, you must be living in 1980. The Reagan Democrats split off from the Democratic party back then and have pretty much stayed Republican. The ones who stayed with the Democrats have remained Democrats. And as you ought to realize, that generation is now is now a rapidly declining segment of the population.

As for coal mines being shut down by environmentalists...no. As any personally moderately aware knows, coal mines have been shut down because of the very low price of natural gas thanks to fracking. Coal can't compete in the marketplace. That's a hard fact.

And no, coal can't burn clean now. That you believe this just shows how the gullible have succumbed to the PR emanating from the coal burning industry. Burning coal isn't clean. It's just less filthy than it used to be. And that goes only for modern plants. The older coal burning plants still spew out huge amounts of pollution including neurotoxins like mercury. And conservatives have been massively opposed to taking steps to clean them up.

As you may not be aware, under one Stupid Democrat, Barack Obama, fracking has flourished.

And what really makes your post bizarre, is you seem to think that the only people Trump's candidacy has aroused are people voting for him. It cuts both ways, you know. As can be seen from the violent counterdemonstration to Trump. And before you think of making some pointless wisecrack about Hispanics being all or mostly illegals, that's not the case. And Hispanic voter registration is booming. Also, the're been a big uptick in Hispanics who have a green card and are now becoming citizens in order to vote. Even though the cost is $680.

And most of Trump's supporters don't even realize that he's against an increase in the minimum wage. Or that his tax cut plans hugely favor the .01%. How do you think that's going to play out when that fact is pounded on over and over?
