  1. the hidden village--This attraction opened this week in Faham. It boasts the Barn restaurant steak house with an interesting menu. I thought i would like to try it so I stopped by. I was informed that I would have to buy a ticket for 200 Baht. I asked if perhaps there was a separate entrance for the restaurant, the answer was NO. So keeping in the counter intuitive business climate here, I asked so I have to pay 200 Baht to eat in the restaurant as I have no interest in looking at the cement dinosaurs. yes I would was the answer so I declined. SIGH

The real name is translated a lot better on some Thai sites and quite easy to work out.  First name reported in OP is correct as in Leonard (so also Leo or Len).  It is also being reported thathe mention to Paul as a general whinge that he was owed a debt from a business investment in a restaurant in CM to the extent that he believed he had been dudded by his business partner.  Then we have the grey area where Paul says he was tasked with collecting, while Len says it was just a whinge to a fellow Oz and evidenced that by showing that he had reported the initial business dispute to the Police a few weeks later.  Then alleged that Paul fronts up and says that he and Ad are out of pocket from attempting to collect on disputed business dealing between Len and partner.

Anyhow all have been here ten years plus and certainly Len and Ad have wife and kids here, so somewhat sorry for them.  Seeing that you an drive unlicensed of a bridge and kill 9 in Bangkok, and drive into cyclists here in CM and klll and still not be troubled by imprisonment, and that surely a decade in CM had taight them something whether there are prospects for this to go away....after all, it's just about money   or is this going to go all the way as bad Farangs under the "good guys in, bad guy out" campaign.

Or, as so often,  we never hear any more about it again.........until the next arrests

welcome back mambo jumbo mods catch on

    Flawed logic? Where?

"It's" not Hong Kong? What are you talking about? I said, "As they (the ones in Hong Kong) say in Hong Kong" (about taking photos of your food before you start to eat it). What part of that foxed you?

So your food looked edible, but was not, and did not look revolting, but was. However, it was your "date" that, "...had biscuits and gravy and it looked like dog vomit."

So can we conclude that the date's meal, although it looked bad, actually tasted good?

Had you ever seen biscuits and gravy before? Would those photos help us to visualize the "dog vomit"?

look at your avatar --you should have working knowledge of dog vomit

Subtlety on the sign, "Farang Food".......can you imagine the reaction if you had a sign outside an Indian Restaurant in England or a Mexican Restaurant in USA which said "Foreign Food"....anyway, never mind, if its closed now anyway.

it is gone blissfully. it is a subsidised venture from the owners of classic burgers which is closed as well.

What was actually wrong with the meal? Photos? As they say in Hong Kong: "The camera always eats first."

Well  to go forward with your flawed logic (a) it's not Hong Kong (b) I've already said it's revolting and inedible (c) photos would not tell the story as it looked edible and non revolting

I would be careful doing this in CM , they are getting more strict with foreigners trying to earn money from rentals.

Much easier to get away with it in Pattaya or Hua Hin .

interesting response balo saying that it's easier in HH or Pattaya. Can you document that sweeping statement?

Are you talking about Airport Plaza?

I think the affluent people prefer Central Festival and their food hall (or Rimping), so not enough demand to make it profitable for Tops in Airport Plaza to stock fresh crab meat and other perishables that few, if any, of their customers buy.

No the festival shopping mall  corner 118 & super highway

  9. When that Tops first opened in the festival complex it was like shopping in Paris or London. It had so many hard to find products. The charcuterie and cheese sections were without equal. They had fresh crab meat, marrow bones so many delicacies. i went back today after an absence and it was like shopping in a 7/11. The bakery and the potato chip sections were well stocked however

  10. Many kitchens is the name of a new restaurant on soi 26 sukhamvit.  Went there yesterday and what a pleasant experience. From the name I guessed that it was a pretty eclectic menu and it was. We order 4 different dishes and all four were superb. Calamari, chicken croquettes, soup and rice crackers. Luckily I live only 100 feet away

    check out this website .

    www.ddproperty.com

Here you might find a lot of land for sale in Chiang Mai. Some of it might be within your budget. Good luck with your search.

dd property rarely responds to inquirers and ofter misrepresents where the properties are located with false drop pins. I have tried numerous times to do business with them always unsuccessfully

I didn't know he had died, we've been going there for the past twelve years and the food has been consistently good or better, it's one of our favorites although not necessarily for pizza.

I too have been going there for many years and enjoyed the food immensely until one day maybe 3-4 years ago it came to crashing halt. The first disappointing meal arrived followed by a string of disappointing meals. I will never go back.

The first time that I ever went they head waiter told us the story of the family and the people who now run it. How could you NOT know that the owner had died
