I am thinking of moving Cebu. Have been living in Phuket almost 20yrs. I don't want to live in the city. Hate traffic. Can anyone recommend somewhere that has a bit of selection of beaches and bars nearby.

Can anyone recommend  someone to take us for an overnight W.W. rafting trip. We don't need any of the add-ons. Dont need to be picked up. Safety is not a big concern. A cool guy with a boat is what we want. Thank you in advance for any recommendations.

Hi . Has anyone gone this route lately. I believe showing an official document from your embassy stating you have sufficient monthly income is the main thing they are after. Do they also want to see your  bankbook to back this up? I am Canadian, living in Phuket. Thanks for any input.

If you actually have the 800k you should be fine for the 7 days after an extension request and they can provide a new extension - if you are saying you do not have the 800k (in account 3 months) expect an illegal service can not obtain without a new non immigrant O entry.

Most offices now advise people to do a short overstay and then apply for the extension.

I had the "long stay visa". I went to do my 90 day report the other day, and was informed it was the last day of my visa. Could not believe the year went so fast. I was told if I got everything in order for the next day they would renew with one day overstay. Then one of the official farang helpers that work there said I could get a 7 day extension which I needed, to try to come up with the 800,000. The lawyer that was going to help me with that informed me that my long stay visa is not valid any more, and I need to fly out of the country and start over. Does anyone have any suggestions

Does anyone know a good car mechanic around Chalong area. I had a good one across from Wat Chalong, but he has packed up and moved away. I took my car there at least 20 times, and he only ripped me off once

It seems to be common knowledge that you can not get a work permit to be a boat captain here. I am sure I saw it on the restricted list many years ago, but I have recently heard different. In a short search I did not see it as something a farang can not do.Does anyone know anything about this particular position.
