  1. If that's you on the profile pic... same reaction from me
  2. Imagine if this happened a century or two ago when advancements in the study of genetics, molecular biology, immunology, epidemiology and microbiology were either non-existent or in their infancy. It would have eradicated most of the planet's population and most of us wouldn't be here as a result of our ancestral lineage having been wiped out. This is a scary scourge.
  3. I always renew at least 6 months before expiry date. Always have a contingency plan when you live on foreign soil. A plan b and even a backup plan c during these difficult times can provide that extra safety net and peace of mind. The exact same measures apply to credit and debit cards. Having a backup card securely stored at home helps in case the primary card is compromised in any way or "eaten" by an ATM. Let's hope you get that passport soon. The sooner, the better.
  4. Pressure from embassy perhaps? Danish court might want to see an active investigation before formally declaring him dead? A recently discovered life insurance policy that might have gotten someone very excited? A long overdue warrant of arrest from the Danish Rigspolitiet?
  5. Appropriate and correct decision. This variant is highly infectious and target visitors are from countries where infection rates are critically unmanageable.
  6. Yes, you are 100% correct. Thank you. Many simply have an embarrassingly elementary knowledge about the IDL. There is NO such thing as an international driving licence. The IDL is simply a translation of your government-issued licence. It is not a licence. Your IDL lets you drive legally in foreign countries when accompanied by your valid driver's licence.
  7. Not a fan of regurgitating dull tunes so must be the former. Tee hee... enjoying my good life sans visa issues unlike others. Ciao
  8. No.. it's plainly and clearly about this i'm-being-followed paranoia and, on an even more pernicious scale, exporting this Karen-esque approach from the nanny state where, during my years of living and studying there, one can't help but notice a stubborn predisposition to rebelliousness and chronic cynicism.
  9. Asking people to make an effort to locate your helmet Kingdom-wide is not a "simple post" as you surmise or attempt to portray pathetically. You are literally provoking readers to react to such an impossible task. "Jeez"
  10. Spotting the helmet and actually detaining the thief are worlds apart. Thieves can be quite aggressive and antagonistic when confronted or cornered and, especially when high on meth, will not hesitate to round up the rest of the gang (10 vs you as per tradition here) to make you instantly regret playing the hero role for that reward.
  11. That there's even such an option is a dark and disturbing thought.
  12. Indeed indeed. Neither left nor travelled since that day the virus first struck.
  13. Not the end of the world, Mr Baggs. In other news, I'm having a cappuccino this morning.
  14. Terminal Karenitis. Incurable, sadly.
  15. No end to meddlers and bureaucrats envious of early birds and successful investors in this sector.
  16. Sell, by hook or by crook. Less things to think about. Spares you the Por Ror Bor and tax. 2 years... that's a long time to leave it parked and idle.
  17. You can only order the card if the country you want it sent to (and proof of address is required for this) is listed with a check icon under the "cards" column on this page: https://wirexapp.com/en/help/article/supported-countries-0182 For APAC countries (eligible Asian countries + Australia and NZ) it is a Visa card sent by Wirex Singapore. For Europe, it is a MasterCard sent by Wirex UK. Unfortunately TH is not an eligible country. I had mine delivered to Australia.
  18. I have Wirex card which is reloadable with a variety of cryptocurrencies. I also have debit cards from a major Cambodian bank (ABA). I only have good things to say about this bank during my 11 years of banking experience with them. I use my Kasikorn debit card for retail purchases and ATM withdrawals within Thailand only. When travelling, I use my German credit and debit cards (DKB Bank). I also use Spendl (yes, an "L" after the Spend). It is a prepaid virtual card reloadable with digital assets.
  19. If it's worth 2 mil and the residual amount owed is in the region of 100k or 50k baht, let me know and i will give ya a symbolic 1k for the transfer of ownership. ????
  20. The appropriate and right step. Anti-vaccine Karens and Darrens imperil the lives of a forward thinking, responsible and unselfish people. Danke vielmals, Frau Merkel.
  21. Finally. From medieval period to semi-enlightenment age. Hopefully, more improvements to come (i.e. complete eradication) so we can truly say au revoir and good riddance.
  22. Warning ignored. Thank you very much. Hoarded my bitcoins since 2012 and will continue keeping and using them.
  23. No "if"... you MUST demonstrate that you can speak and write Thai which is a good thing as other countries also require us Asians show a satisfactory command of their languages if we intend to apply for citizenship.
