I don't demand any kind of ''elite treatment''but just a fair treat ment along with the official regulations, and not being exposed to arbitrary..any country lay down it's own rules and has sovereignty to let in or not,But here there is no serious ground to give me the hard time of it and so far i'd never had any problem..I asked the police what 's the problem, and I couldn't elicit any answer
The reference to france as the way they treat thai people is off Subject, thailand could impose the same and then I wouldn't go once and for all,I just claim respect of their own law

I'm perfectly aware of the situation getting worse and worse up to pushing people out of the country long time residents included, let alone people like me they don't give a damn I spend money in thailand or not,But it won't prevent me from thinking they're nothing but brainless..
I'm not sure I can get multiple non immigrant O in paris, and report ing to police Thanks but french police is already enough for me
As to the reference to embassy to suggest the required return ticket within 30days it's improper as embases have no say in fixing regulations allowing entrance in the country, they just take care of visa delivery, and i've never been asked at immigration to show this ticket, the only proper ground for rejection being,as far as I know, the money concernant ten ortwenty thousand bahts, that's why I was ask ing a statement from the immigration making this requirements clearly set

Hi everybody
I've been visiting thailand for a long time,my first visit dates back from 1973,i'm from a generation who contributed to make this country more and more popular year after year.i'm now 69 and since my retirement my visits more frequent, roughly speaking twice a year, mid february to beginning
april, and summer time from end june to mid september at most.I've used tourist visas ,exemption visas as well due to my visits to neighbouring countries as long as I didn't need visas for staying under the 30 days limit.i've never used extension process but once in 2012,never overstayed and never questionned neither.
One of my favorite ''escape''is penang, which is a place I envoy particularly, combined with the fact it used to be an easy going place to make visas
and several times I used this facility with no problem, and my return to thailand done through the usual sadao border .
Last year I didn't make visa and the superviser commited just informed on the twice a year limit for overland visa exemptions, and it was just the first one,but nothing more.
Then,I used the same way this year,I stayed 10 days in bkk,had booked plane ticket to penang to cover possible bickering from the Airlines companion with their overzealous check ing we're complying to thailand regulations (by the way i'be grateful to anybody who would produce an official statement refereing to this ticket out of the country within 30days),no visa again for the same reason.
And this time at Sadao the trouble begins.
It goes without saying my passeport is filled with stamps, visas from thailand and neighbouring countries, and i'm aware of the tightening context
which prevails in thailand with foreigners of all kind (except chinese of course),as the thaivisa forum suggest, and my post here should be another
mark of this turn, and is meant to provide information for people crossing there and not being caught unawares.
It happened on march 9th, and after looking thoroughly, but no questionning, the officer sent me to supervisors, two women the younger one overly
disgrâce full, not really talkative, the elder one, probably the superior, asked money ,return ticket, and booking which actually I hadn't,because the place I go regularly doesn't provide this kind of service, but i'd the card..then she said ok,and turned over to the other one who at last said
''What are you doing in thailand ? ''Then,as a retired,I spend some time there, call it holidays, then, what's the real problem?
From there,no answer at all,but the mention,i'll be forbidden using visa exemptions ,inscribed in the passport and of course in the data base of theirc computeurs as well, and finally they let me go with my last 30 days.
At this point it raises several points.
I don't see the point of making visas all the time.If I stay just for a few days,I should waste it once admitted in the country ?And making another one for a new entrance?Bearing in mind visas delivery is also tigntening everywhere as suggested in more and more post here..so it means in practice it should make practically untractable visiting thailand for the future.
Or else, making a non imm O visa in paris ( i'm french)as I did last summer, but not being able to go out during the 90 days validity because of the neighbouring consulates more and more unfriendly?
I'm really disgusted with human sillyness and particularly with the rubbertape one,for the first time i'm wondering if I shouldn't tell them
''Go to hell'' once and for all!
To top it all,at the same time à young german guyin it's 30's was seriously questionned as he ''didn't look german",he was actually slightly tan skinned and then his passport was conclusively forged ! And where did you get this fake..and so on!
Yes,at this juncture,no further comment is need éd, when it comes to this level of filth in the head...go on like this folks and long life to dumbheads

I'm happy to inform on my own experience having just got my visa from this consulate, hoping at the same time putting
some break to persistent anxiety provoking rumors about a rule enforced there limiting to 3 the number of visas
allowed to be applied
I'd already 3 of them issue at this place and stamped on the same passeport,so that's why i'd asked more détails in a precedent thread posted here..but the issue remained unclear because of lack in reference to the span of time, this supposed limit is considered
As far as i'm concerned the first visa was made in JULY 2013,then july 2014,and the last one february 2015
So,please, when people claim being denied,it would be nice they give the full story
I imagine 3 visas back to back at the same place would be another story, and even so,i'd prefer to check myself at the place what's all about.(.nothing is posted)rather than relying on the voraciuous ''friendly''agents, ready to distort the truth to their own profit
In passing,i'll point out the little game of some of these agents, cutting the queue abrutly to place the applications to the nose of the staff, and what's more fishy, the applicans themselves were present, follow ing the normal individual
procedure and then handing over the deposit receipt to the agent, who in turn enter in discussion with the staff
So,this is just my expérience, but I hope to be useful with this comment

Then it suggests the so called ''3limit''is nothing but a scam between crooked travel agents and officers in the consulate
If so,it's very bad news indeed,I won't be a party for this, don't blame the corruption if you use it
Actually i'vé never understood why so many people resort to these agencies to settle these matter
I'll make my own expérience and won't fail to inform people on the feed back
Any how if I don't get the visa i'll stay à little bit longer in malaysia, and get à New 30 days exemption visa

I had posted a thread about this ''supposed'' limit for tourist visas at the penang consulat, last month
To say the least it's as clear as mud..nothing written on the official Web site for this, and what's more
the 3limit would apply whatever the dates of precedent issues ?applying 3 times running back to back seems différent from having 3 visas over the Last 5 years for instance..
As far as i'm concerned I got 3 penang visas from february 2013,the third was february 2015,then May I expect trouble there at the end of the month to ask for a new one,as i'll be back home (France ) on septembre 9th?
I've never used extension but once more than 5 years ago
As to the reference to penang travel agents offering ''help''for sorting out some issues, wouldn't it suggest be a
blatant corruption case?
When I posted my thread,I got an answer from elviajero whom I Thank in passing, hinting I should be ok,but as matter stands now,I think the only way to make sure of it is to check myself when I ask for my visa, but definit ely not resort ing to the crooked agents
I,ll give you then, what's all about it for my case, and so as to providence useful informations for New travelers

Hi, i'm a french retired who has been visiting thailand for a long time, always as a tourist, but staying rather longer terms since my retirement period
it means over the last three years, two journeys a year for a duration betweem 55 ou 65 days ,most of the time cut by visits in the neighbour countries, malaysia, cambodia, and malaysia
i've never stayed more than four months and half a year in thailand, and i've never intended applying for retirement visa because i keep on living in my country and see no point in letting myself embroiled in all the paperwork it involves...
but, these days thai immigration seems more and more suspicious if not obsessed by what they call " fake tourists", and in particular people staying longer than they deem "normal",which leads to more and more topics related to visa exemption or tourist visa, where more and more people ask more details about regulations and also relate increasing experience of hassles at different border points
all over the country; that's why this is my turn being concerned with my next trip in a few days now
during my last trip, from february to april, i used two 30 days exemption visa, with a ten days stay in penang; i intend to use a third exemption arriving in suvanaphumi, which shouldn't be a problem at first sight ( i've a bkk-penang fly ticket within the 30 days granted), and as i expect to stay 10 days or so there, it happens i do need a tourist visa on my way back to thailand, as my return in september goes beyond a new 30 days stamp ( what's more, would i be granted a fourth exemption ,bearing in mind some suggest three would be a yearly limit ? )
as far as penang consulate was concerned,it was valued as a easy going place for issuing tourist visa, and i've already used it three times , and that's the point !!
actually, more and more insistent information says this consulate would set a "3 times " limit for issuing these tourist visa.. if so, i'd be in trouble indeed...
but, at least, what i'd like to know better, is, if true, is this limit is a all time limit, or it's for one year only ?
sometimes i read a limit for " back to back " visas, does it mean "consecutive " ?
To make my quest precise my last visa in penang dates back to february 2015, and the first one in july 2013, the second in august 2014,with a visa between,in marseille, france in january 2014
So do you think i'll have a problem in penang with the consulate ? or a problem with a fourth exemption stamp?
to that respect, i've used 6 such exemptions since march 2013
thanks for any useful information regarding this issue

We knew already about the so called ''big joke'' the cowboy dealing with ''bad guys''teeming all over the King dom, and now I get to know his next of kin, lecturing those travelling without a''proper''visa
I remind you of the visa exemptions rules which are limited twice a year overland, and no set limit as far as flying in concerned,i've always respected this and never been questionned..why should I get visas as long as I don't stay more than 30days?my rejection was based on what?
I call you ''big joke''bis, because when you suggest deposits in thai banks of as much as 800000bahts,it's a joke, isn't it?and this just for sending a few weeks in thailand !
You refer to my age as a poor''excuse''! What excuse?you've the guts to infer i'm trying to use my age as a trick to get round the regulations?
This is ludicrous ! The main reason of the chas ing of illegal foreigners is illegal employment, can you imagine a 69 retired university teacher trying to set foot in the thai university system ? And the age isn't an ''excuse''but a safeguard .
Last summer I made a non imm O because I stayed 10 weeks, making visas when it's not requested I don't see the point, but for you arbitrary treatment is no concern of yours, you're nothing more than a condescending and lecturing expat, and Thanks for your advices
