Regarding the time period for the application of the one year extension of stay having already obtained the 90 day extension. The time period of 45 days is widely quoted and was mentioned to me at Chang Wattana. Is there a minimum time period you need to make the application?

So am I correct in saying the only difference is that a Non-OA dispenses with the need to obtain a re-entry permit but the 12 month extension requires one?
-
Thanks. I did ask the 'helpful lady' specifically for application for a Non-OA but she supplied me with a TM.7 and information entitled 'Requirements and Documentations when applying for Extension of temporary stay in case of Retirement' which I took to be equivalent to a Non-OA of which I have a website
http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/4908/15385-Non-Immigrant-Visa-%22O-A%22-(Long-Stay).html
stating that this is indeed able to be obtained at CW.
Is there any difference between a Non-OA and a 12 month extension of stay?

Just been to Chaeng Wattana today to pick up my 90 day Non-0 and wanted to clarify a few things so I asked a helpful young fellow with a yellow 'Smile' shirt on and he led me to an equally helpful lady. There I was informed that I could apply for my Non-OA 45 days before and that there were only three things I needed, my Non-O, my proof of 800K and my passport-no police check, no medical check, no notarisation and none of the other random things listed on web sites.
I confess to leaving a little happier then when I went in.

I am off to Chaeng Wattana on Tuesday armed with my TM 87, and I will get a bank letter tomorrow.
SORRY, ATTACHMENT NOT COPIED
Looking at this guidance above I am interested in sections 5.1 and 5.3.
5.1 Does the letter have to be the exact same date as the application?
5.3 refers to evidence of funds transferred. Will I have to provide this, for example a copy of my UK bank transfer, or will Kasikorn take care of it?Thanks Ubonjoe!

Thanks, got an email today formally announcing the end of my contract, I'll print that out.
Thanks for your help gentlemen.

.........or I bin Weds and just go Thursday, no worries!
-
Thanks, I think I'll chance it on Weds and if that doesn't give me 30 days I'll retrace my steps on Thursday. What's $35......?

It is a working B that is about to finish, I have ended my contract.
The passport stamp says 'Extension of Stay Permitted up to' (stamped 31 Aug).I have a UK passpot.
So you both seem to think I'll have no problem getting 30 days crossing into Laos for an hour or so.
The reason I initially posted is that whenever I have arrived at BKK in the past I had nothing added to my passport as I had my Non-Imm B.
Or I am making a wrong assumption (never having entered without a Visa), is there nothing added to the passport apart from the entry date and this is sufficient to establish the 30 days? -
Just to clarify I mean that I want to cross on the 31st, which isn't tomorrow! Do you ever get the days mixed up??????
-
My Non-Imm B is dated to finish tomorrow (31 Aug). If I cross the border for a few hours to get the 30 day exemption will it be deemed that this is still valid and I will not receive the 30 days or will the 30 days be added?

Thanks Ubonjoe, your words of wisdom are always very useful

Has anyone been over the Friendship 3 just to get a 30 day Visa Exemption? I am looking to convert a Non-Imm B to a Retirement and would like to do this to initiate the 3 stage process of Visa Exemption, Non-Imm O and Non-Imm OA. My wife's family is in Nakhon Panom and we live in BKK so I can keep Mer happy and be legal!
What type of Non Imm visa can I apply for?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
