Well, after lots of conversations with this girl I have concluded to run for the hills, and I still have my wallet lol. The first red flag she had was having a really low self esteem. The second was she kept asking if I liked her friends. Then she refused to tell me her age. She lives in Phuket but her family is not. She has been a lesbian for over twenty years. She kept wanting me to meet her every time the ship she works on is in port. Yup cruise girl, she has been working there a month so I think she is to dumb not to have relations with guests. Last but not least, her number is from US but she does not know how to add air time to her cell phone since she not in Thailand. The comments on this forum did help with what to look for, so thanks for the comments.

Ok guys, this has been an interesting read. Why did I start this thread when I am old enough to know what I am doing? Truth is I am afraid of going to Thailand and meeting a ladyboy on accident or saying something that gets me cut or put in jail. So knowing what to look for helps. I am retired from the Army and been all over the world, so I know learning about where you are going helps.

Ok, for clarification. I made another thread before this one in regards to a cruise ship. Both threads discussed behavior, the cruise ship question was specific to my experience and this thread is a question in general. So sorry if anyone is mad and thinks I am a troll. I am a noob to this forum and I am sure what I have asked is very typical noobish questions.

I recently spent a few days with a group of Thai friends and I may have offended them. They would greet me with their hands together and bow but I would not return the gesture. I was afraid it was a Buddhist thing and it would be insulting for a non Buddhism to do. Also in a taxi I would play with their hair and touch their heads and kissed in public. I am not sure if they were afraid to tell me or know it is common behavior if you are not Thai.

I am new to the Thai scene and not sure what are the ear marks that tell me where she is from or her education. I had a girl tell me she lived in Phuket but her family lives in another town. She has one child and can hardly speak English. Any tips would be appreciated.

Thai girl raised in Thai, I stopped speaking to her and her friends since I am back home. It was a unique experience though.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I don't feel like chasing a random girl on a cruise ship (unless I am on the ship). So the few days of my experience was fun and why ruin that. I learned a lot about Thailand and Thai women lol. From what I have gathered from you guys is always stay in control of yourself, finances and always have the option to bail if you want to.

Since the U.S. military removed the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy not much has changed. Instead of being kicked out for being gay you are kicked out for sexual harassment. The military has just changed the wording. If you run down the hallway with a strap-on yelling "Give it to me Sir!" you will still get kicked out.

I would not mind visiting Thailand for a few weeks or even a few months. In the future MAYBE she could be my tour guide. If I wanted to get married to a Thai, Vietnamese or Korean girl I can go shopping around any military base in the U.S. and save on the plane tickets to Thailand. So I am on this cruise to Mexico and hit the spa. This Thai girl cuts my hair etc. I invited her to hang out once we reach Mexico, she said sure and we agreed to a time. I didn't take her seriously and when I walked off the ship she was waiting for me (I was an hour late). So her Thai friend was playing third wheel while she followed me around for the day. We were pretty physical the whole day and for the rest of the trip I had a little Thai girl friend if you want to call it that. The last day of the trip about five other Thai girls arrive at our table and tell me she is a good girl and we get into a conversation about keeping this going after the trip is over. I don't really know what to do with this. I have never dealt with Thai girls, ever. She was a darker complexioned Thai than the other women and had a few very generic tattoos.

A few western dating sites like AshleyMadison (for married hook ups) were artificially sending messages to members from bots created by the company. I would not put a lot of faith into dating sites.
