Thanks for your answer, Tropicalevo.
That's what I got wrong! I didn't get the TM 30 report of my temporary address. -
Hi, I don't usually do 90 day reporting myself (which is why I'm confused).
I'm on a retirement visa, my usual address is in Chiang Mai and I get a visa company to do it for me all the time in Chiang Mai.
The problem is I'm in Samui at the moment. I can't do the 90 day reporting here (I thought I could but immigration here in Samui said I couldn't)
I can't do it online (unless anyone knows how to get that website to work).
The company in Chiang Mai says I can send them my passport by EMS Thai post and they'll do it and send it back to me. I don't know how long this will take and while I don't have a passport I can't move around.
Do I have any other options? Is it possible to do it with photocopies?

why not get the non 'O' in the UK
I don't know. I won't be 50 until May and I'm going to the UK in April, if that has a bearing

Just make sure you get the docs from school, like you done and quit school officially or graduated. You will NEED to cancel your ED visa (signed by officials @immigration too). I was told they may not let me leave the country, i know sounds absurd but i didn't want to mess around. There's bunch of shit needed to get tourist after ED, been there too one hell of a headache. Since you going to UK best would be to change passport to get rid of your ED visa.
I've got a photo of the doc (a letter cancelling the education visa). And I've got the ED visa cancelled properly. What's the "bunch of shit needed to get tourist after ED""?

That is not the case. There is no 'official' rule limiting you to 6 months.
sorry I meant you can't just do back to back tourist visas indefinitely and I was wondering if this would be a problem - getting a tourist after an education

I'm towards the end of a years' long Education visa and I'm just about to leave Thailand.
I've heard that you can't be more than 6 month of the year in Thailand on a tourist visa, so my question is:
is it OK to leave Thailand just before the end of the Education visa and then re-enter on a 2-month Tourist visa? (I'm thinking a 2-month Tourist visa from Phnom Penh would be the least hassle).
And then I plan to go back to the UK for 2 weeks and return on another tourist visa and then start the process to apply for retirement visa.

I'm on a year's education non-immgrant visa here in LOS and I want to go to UK for a couple of weeks in a week or so.
Last April I was successful applying for re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi airport at the departures immigration queue. Just checking if this still is the case?
Iirc it was zone 2 departures immigration.

Based on your original post, there would be no problem getting another TV in Phnom Penh, as the implication was that you only had one prior TV. With the additional information you have given, the chances are still good that you will get your visa, but Phnom Penh sometimes refuses visas to those with "several" already. If you want to be sure, Vientiane or Savannakhet might be safer.
Thanks, BritTim, I'll bear this in mind. I can always travel from PP to Vientiane is there's an issue.

Hey Jdietz and Rayk, I really appreciate your help on this. Thank you very much.

That "shouldn't" have worked, as you can't have two valid visas in your passport at the same time. But they missed it and stamped you in anyway, on a Visa not issued in the country you exited. Mistakes were made but not likely to affect you in any way getting a new Tourist Visa in any of the countries that haven't issued you one yet.
Oh that's interesting. I was worried about it at the time but it seemed to work.
So if I go to the Thai Embassy in PP and get a tourist visa, will it be for one or two months?
So, say I get a two month visa at the beginning of August but stay only an extra 3 weeks or so, come back to the UK for a while in September, could I still get another tourist visa from the UK while that other tourist visa was still valid but running out? I guess that old visa wouldn't matter too much as I wouldn't be allowed to re-enter on it anyway?

Thanks, Rayk.
I actually came to Thailand in February from the UK on a second stint of a double entry visa and then went out to Yangon for one day and came in again on a single entry visa I'd got in the UK before I came out in February.
That's not likely to muddy the waters is it?

Hi, I'm new here so go easy on me. I've never done a visa run before I've only ever stayed in Thailand for less than three months at a time.
I came to Thailand from Yangon on a two month tourist visa that I got in the UK (I have a UK passport) which I've extended by 30 days (see image attachment).
Do I have to go back to the UK to get another visa or can I go to somewhere like Phnom Penn, stay for a few days, get another tourist visa and come back to Thailand?
I realise this is question is probably answered here already but I've heard a lot of conflicting information.
Flying from Samui to Chiang Mai, how easy?
in Chiang Mai
Posted
Hello, this is mostly a question about Covid restrictions. I'm in Samui at the moment and I want to get back to Chiang Mai.
I want to be able to fly from Samui airport to BKK, change, and go on to Chiang Mai.
I will have to do that with two airlines as Bangkok Airways now only goes from Samui to BKK (not BKK to CNX anymore). But I'll be able to get a ticket with another airline to go from BKK to CNX.
So my question is: will I be able to do this? What restrictions will I face in Chiang Mai? Will I have to do home quarantine? Do I have to get tested before I go?
Where am I able to find out this info?
Cheers.
