You apply for the yellow book first and then the pink ID card at the Amphoe where your wife's blue house book is for.

Best to ask them what their requirements are for the yellow house book since it varies from one Amphoe to another.

When you get the yellow house book you are issued a ID number that can be used for a tax ID.

Thank you very much for your quick teply...

There is no requirement for your wife and child to be in the blue house book.

As long as the owner agrees for you to get the yellow house book based upon their blue house book it can be done.

Hello Ubonjoe ! I like to ask your advise on two matters..1.).How exactly I can receive a yellow housebook..?.our house is finished now wife has blue book and I want the yellow....what to bring ?  ( I guess pp w. non immigrant a-o vusa 1 yr./ the blue book / any more ?? ) and where exactly to apply ( immigration ? police ? ) and if we go to the local government office.. amphur ..which departement we need to contact ...???

2.) I want to obtain the pink id card...because I was told that the id card number equals the thai tax number..( tax number is the goal ) ..if that is right how and where I can get it...??? I am married but not w. government papers...have non immigrant a-o visa 1 yr.hopefully soon the yellow book ( if ur advise on that one works ) no criminal record whatsoever...enough money...also two thai drivers licenses 5 y. )...

    thanks in advance....

If your in BKK there is a bike shop inside the Mega shopping mall with an excellant range of tools including Snapon and Blue Point. Good quality but with the price tags to match.

thank you for your advices...back home I bought such a tool box and this endet my time fiddling with all kinds of old mostly bad quality stuff I had from before....and lets say 80 % of the tools includet I use regularly....also found it very easy cause each tool alocated a certain marked space in the box ...this also magically endet the endless searches all over the place for the right size screwdriver needed :-[ all others where near by ]...On Ali express I found interesting selections of good priced toolboxes BUT with all kinds of comments from people who bought them ranging from "phantastic" to " beware a total scam"...so I figured lets have a look locally cause its always better to look and touch the stuff before you buy it...well so far I was disapointed from what was available... maybe to buy piece by piece copying the tools I have in that box back home might be the way to go...

the And seems troubling.  If they really meant both.  Could mean lots more pre planning from the home country before one heads to Thailand.  I had gotten one from my local cops before I left.  But if one were heading to Thailand on other visas, and then later going the teaching route, getting visa ad work permit, not having a report from the home country could be a problem

usualy these criminal checks need to be current ( max 3 month old ) so if he already teach a year in asia i think these could be obtained through the embassy...what i dont understand if the person is employed by a language school in phuket why he needs to go to penang to make the visa/extension by himself...???? is not the school responsible to arrange all this and keep it updatet...???

Yes I am sure it would not be accepted by immigration since they expect it to be in a standard savings or fixed term account.

Not sure how you would show the balance in that type of fund for 3 the months required.

They give u a kind of bankbook ( physical ) where u can always update ..and they print it there..same time u can buy more or sell online very flexible and I highly recommend

A LTF fund would not be accepted by immigration. It must be in an account that allows immediate withdrawal without penalty other than loss of interest.

Hello Ubonjoe...Thank you for your quick answer...are u sure about this...???? because LTF can he sold any time ...if u have 20000 shares for example you can sell any quantity for the current rate ( maybe fees deducted but thats up to the bank ) it can be done online and money will be transfered back in the normal account immediately...but for everyday expenses I logicaly would not use these funds as I hope for profit and use other funds for that matter...if LTF  would be accepted these account would have three functions...use for visa security / earn money with it better than in any account ( my friend had a 20% growth in value each yearb for two years but this year his first lost but average very well above bankrates )...tax free after 5 years...and reducing thai income tax ( for locals )...a healthy product...

You will need 2 letters from the bank. One to confirm your account and the balance in it on the date it is written. The other one will be to confirm that the funds came from abroad.

Hello Ubonjoe... I have some question as I am now the second time on a one year non immigrant retirement a-o visa ..i applied both times 2016/2018 and received them in my home country showing 20000 euros in the bank account including a letter of the bank where they confirmed that i am their customer (?)...anyway for the future i thought i just buy some LTF fund in thailand with sone 20000 + euros and let the money there. for ( hopefully ) growth...a Thai friend of mine was quiet succesfull with his LTFs...now can i use this investment to show proof of funds for future visas or extensions...????.? finally as it grows and sits in thailand it will not come from outside in the future...I might apply for new future visa outside of thailand or in Thailand or in the form of an extension .... or in any other thinkable variation ....thank you in advance

Leonics certainly make wind and solar controllers / inverters, I don't think they make wind turbines.

I'm not convinced about wind at a domestic level in Thailand, in northern BKK we either have no wind or way too much. There are some small turbines near Rangsit station, I've never seen them actually rotating.

Solar is, of course, a completely different matter.

They replied...nowadays they do solar only in the past they did windwheels but encountered uncontrollable problems they told me whatever this means...so solar ok but wind nope

  9. 1 hour ago, Arjen said:

Yes, there are. Check "Leonics" in BKK. They are not the cheapest, but give good service, and good quality products.

    Arjen.

Hey Arjen...thanks for the info...I just wrote to them lets see if they can do a windwheel

Combining a wind and solar sytems sounds good. You need different type of chargers. Not sure how it works when you combine and want to connect to the same battery bank.

there is quiet a bit material on this subject but it mostly concerns central europe where are plenty of companys that can set up one for you...also combo systems...I hope to find a company here in thailand who has the expertise and the experience to set up such a wheel including the tower ( 10 m + height )...but so far no luck...even in thailand there are commercial windparks. but never saw a private wheel...

  11. Hello everybody...very interesting facts and like always read the small print...means check details like heat shade dust etc..a lot of variables to a good idea...and i heared that the production of such panels is everything but eco friendly if anyone concerned...my question : did anyone on the forum tried a windwheel...especially those living near the ocean or up north in the mountains wind happens 24 hours.also at night...i would like to learn where here in los we can buy windwheels and find companys who install it all for you ....any experience with this or with combo systems ( wind and sun )

Thank you for the sound advice.  The Prang Ku police say "mai pen rai"  The GF says "Mai Pen Rai," but I have a feeling this will come back to bite me in the ass if not handled through Immigration.  There's a reason Immigration in Sisaket sent them looking for me.  I've always had great interactions with the Sisaket Immigration office, but as you said it must appear that my exit wasn't properly marked in Bangkok.  GF doesn't want to go to Sisaket Immigration, because of the distance and thinks a phone call to Prang Ku will suffice.  I've stressed the importance of her going directly to Immigration because "They sent the Prang Ku Police"

i.e. They are the big boss, and Prang Ku is just following orders.  It's time to put on her Government Teacher's uniform and head to the Immigration office, take them some Donuts (Nam Jai) and wai them, etc. etc.  I've also asked her to get some supporting paperwork from Immigration in Sisaket stating that I'm not hiding out in the rice field.  I've supplied pictures of my entry, extension, and exit stamps from my Passport, as well as the passport itself.  This way, I will have something to show at BKK on my next return.  Hopefully, it's sufficient to prove I haven't been hiding out in Issan for a year.

You also raise a good point regarding others on overstay perhaps getting nervous.  If this is happening out in the boonies of Ban Kumad (Near Prang Ku) then it could very well happen anywhere.

At least the neighbors were quite entertained.

A few years ago they were not allowed in the military, 100% Thai only.

The rules have since changed, now they can join but not as officers.

the usual racist Asian / Thai mentality once again...smile to your face but in real treat u like a second / third class citicen ...see rules for work for stay for owning land for almost anything...racist small minded...and you write between the lines cause special treatment that you fear...a chinese friend of mine was drafted in the army was postet to a danger zone at the malay border and was shot in the hip...before that he enjoyed this special thai treatment Nazi style ...now 50 years later he still suffers the long term effect of that wound that never was treated well...and hates the thai gvntmt for what they let endure him....his whole adult life was shattered from this experience...avoid thai army / or any army at all costs...

When your GF's house is 80% finished, she can apply for a house number and the mandatory Blue House Book; then you can apply for having your name in the House Book, which mean that you as an alien will receive a Yellow House Book. Rules are little different in various areas – some places it's very easy, others almost as complicated as applying for Permanent Residency – so you and your GF need to ask at the local Tabien Ban about what they require for obtaining an alien in a House Book.

Thank you I will try this....

Ya Jack45k, it does look like that coming into frame but we were traveling only at about 40km through the village. The Thai kid didn’t have a drivers license. His motorbike had an insurance sticker though.
Granted it’s a different perception of reality here in Thailand but to think that poorer people can run roughshod and not be held responsible is clearly just not right. We’ll just let this thing run its course and see if the police will do their job. #Longshot
I’m thinking you may have more money than me - your buying the beer.

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect

if you are broke in almost any country you can make debts ( rental... private etc)  run up bills and not much will happen... look the reality in your own country... not what is written in the law... here in th locals can get away with almost anything... even murder if their uncle is a cop.. its good you wear helmets otherwise u would not be able to post here anymore... my advise take th e. 9000 offered and ask them to do some work for you... maybe in the end of the day yo even become friends who knows

What purpose does the OP want to do this for?

I cannot really see any advantage of it in his situation?

For most purposes of using a bill for proof of address, then most things are accepted, a mobile phone bill for example.

    yes proove of adress

My name is on the electricity bill. No yellow or blue book. Did it years ago. The payment comes out of my bank account so possibly the name on the bill must match the name on the bank account.

How did you manage this in the first place... ????
