Hi, Ive had an extension based on retirement (0-A from Oz originally) for last ten years. After cancelling the embassy letter the last year I used the 65000 baht monthly deposit method. My visa expires early Feb 2020. Can I change to marriage extension on that basis without putting in the 400000 for two months before?
Thanks for any advice

Can I change my retirement extension to marriage six months early? I renewed my 0-A visa in February this year. I had all the documents and bank docs. necessary but we didn’t get to see the IO lady till 4.15. They shut down at 4.30 and she told my wife (married at Huay Kwang 10 years ago) that it was too much work so she offered to renew my retirement extension (based on 65k for previous 12 months plus Oz embassy stat dec.) Foolishly I agreed. Now the Oz dollar is hitting new lows against the baht. My question is, can I go back mid-this year and apply to change to an extension on retirement? Ive kept up the 65k monthly deposit. I realise it means paying for a new visa and maybe the multiple re-entry as well, but I’d save much more by shifting to the marriage extension. Thoughts, advice, please?

Ok, so does this mean the embassy letter is no longer required? Acceptable? Obtainable?
The notification posted says 'Phuket', what of Bangkok?

My OA needs to be renewed on 8 Feb. For various reasons I want to do it earlier (say, 15 Jan). Is this ok?
thanks, Glen

Try 'A Fine Balance' by Rohinton Mistry. An Indian epic worth the trouble.
