  1. Maybe it's time to rebadge this page to 'The Month That Was' or should that be 'The Year That Was'.

What happened? Did you get stoned and you missed it or something? I certainly do miss the weekly rave. After a 6 year break from late 2017 till now I'm headed back in July for a couple of months to see for myself how things have changed in southern Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia.

  2. Looking like it's time for me to renew my passport and head back over after a 5 year break from the place. Things went downhill badly following the Coup and death of the old King as it became increasingly difficult to stay in the country for any longer than 60 days.

Had thought I'd never venture back again and looked at Malaysia and Indonesia as easier visa friendly options. However recent events have given me hope that perhaps not all is lost!

Thanks for writing a much better column than last episodes lackluster effort.

A nervous flyer, Rooster would admit to praying on planes. Not for another dear wife but my dear life.

I share your thoughts and feelings on this topic, and your comments about children being subjected to violence reminds me of the time when awaiting a train on Phumpin station (Surathani), witnessing a woman smashing her 10 year old +- child's head into the concrete wall whilst nobody on the crowded platform and train that was stopped at the station, said a single word. I yelled at her from the train I'd just boarded but the woman just sneered at me and carried on regardless!

    Discuss with a Thai ???? 555

Only my 23 years old KIK understands what's happening and supports democracy.

Older Thai all are pure idiots.

Agreed. My 2 Thai GFs are both university educated and relatively wealthy individuals yet neither of them will say a word about the situation. Afraid to do so I strongly suspect.

  5. I have had this for decades now and found that HIIT exercise routine 3X/week together with

a yoga, stretching routine and keeping my weight down goes a long way towards keeping it under control. However, winters are particularly painful for me and being stranded in SE Qld means my usual winter trip to Thailand for massage, swimming and warmth have ended. I was lucky enough to qualify for CBD oil script and it works where no other 'pain' killer or anti-inflammatory has been of any use.

Saudi has loads of sunshine too, but guess how they power their desalination plants. Hint, it's not solar.

If you were stupid enough to use coal fired power plants to solve the water crises, you should realize that you need clean water to run the boilers in order to produce electricity!! So you'd be 'robbing Peter to pay Paul'. Engage your brain my friend.

There is no retirement forum. But many topics about other options for retirement  have been discussed in the pub/epat life forum.

    Moved to there.

Damned if I can find it. How about if you move a topic, you post a link to it at the same time and place please. I'd very much like to read it!
