I have commented many times on the Mangmoom (Spider) project.
All I will say this time is, don't hold your breath.
I'm sure it will be another well thought out flash in the pan....

Actually, contrary to what the PM is reported to say, I think the government could perfectly well attempt to block access to FB nationwide -- if they actually wanted to.
They already do that with various other websites, and it would simply require the internet gateways or the various ISPs, which are all under the government's thumb -- to block the Facebook domain through their networks for Thailand IP users.
Saying they don't have the legal or technical basis to do the blocking is just an excuse. They have both -- remember Section 44 -- if they wanted to exercise them.
I think somebody at some point may have explained just what a bad move that would be..

If it were not for all the noise about this yesterday I would never have seen what I was not meant to see.
Its all over the world now.
Seems to be so much talk of whats being or trying to be removed here these days.
Facebook
Beach Umbrellas
Beach food and drink
Street food
I am sure there are more. Seems to be a growing list.
Thailand wants to become the hub of things being removed

Utter horse excrement!! The economy is totally in the toilet and these incompetents have nearly exhausted the reserves!
-
These retards are absolutely intent on destroying the economy for what they see as right and proper:
They have total disregard for the wellbeing and financial security of the Thai people or anyone residing here.
Even when Taksin and Yingluck were taking billions with their schemes, at least the economy was healthy.
I lost a business almost overnight when they decided that they didn't want 'zero dollar tours'
Then the nonsense at Songkran and the list just keeps getting longer.
Total disregard for the economy or the wellbeing of the people living here.
These morons need to be stopped!
-
Anyone stupid enough to believe this nonsense deserves the the army in their home which is what this nosense is hoping to achieve

Despite those problems, BKK taxis are generally very good. If the government wants to address negative tourist experiences with taxis they should go after the taxis in Phuket, Samui etc. Extremely poor service and ridiculously overpriced.
Nonsense!!

Not as happy as everyone would be if you did the world a favour and stopped breathing for a week or two!
-
How many of these road deaths do you think are caused simply by the extremely poor standard of driving in Thailand?

Pattaya taxi's are scumbags, they don't want the Bangkok drivers because the Bangkok guys drive you back to Bangkok for 800 baht.
last Songkran I was in Pattaya trying to get back to nonthaburi. I could not get a cab to the bus station from Na Klua for under 300 baht! I had waited about 90 minutes. Eventually a Bangkok cabbie stopped and took me to Nonthaburi, to my door for 500 baht!

Prime Minister? What PM? What mandate? NONE. Just an unelected military junta WITHOUT MANDATE. Everyone knows that you're just another incompetent Thai male with a minuscule intellect and an even smaller penis.

I work in Angola and when I arrive back to the LOS I feel the heat. Its only going to get worse next month. Best to take precausions. Lots of water, avoid baking like a lobster if possible and when its too hot...aircon time.
Is that because you are sat in the air-conditioning doing very little in Angola?
-
There is no government. Do you mean the unelected military junta?
-
He makes a valid point. This junta has no legitimacy and no mandate.
Apart from that, taxation is theft!

There was a thread on the Phuket forum a while ago about AIS offering fibre optic internet access to 'remote' Phuket areas - and I finally got round to 'phoning them at the beginning of this year. Only to be told, it wasn't yet available where I live .
Sorry to hear that dick dasterdly! I think 3bb are also doing a 1200 baht 5g fibre package. Check online.

My Thai GF and her staff and her bosses, all well educated have no issue with the current government
It's mainly farangs who bring with them their high and mighty perception of democracy. Get over it, TIT, it doesn't work here.
How many examples of rioting and failed government do you need? Better still why not use Google if you don't live here.. It's all there

Zorro 1, I find your comments to be rude, arrogant and contrary to the opinions of most of the Thais I speak to daily, from market vendors to colleagues.
You arrogantly dismiss people as not living here yet you talk of your girlfriend not your wife. How long have you lived here? Not married? No family?
Please do tell us so we are aware of your vast experience of Thai politics!
Perhaps if you had a wife or family then you would understand...

Elections will lead to rioting and the bombing of shopping centers and people shot as is well documented. Why would you want that.. I'm enjoying the peace and quite as it is now

Why would I want elections? Really? Your comment speaks volumes!
Please enjoy your quite and your redmi note 3....

Sounds like it is well past time for an election!

and THIS + repeats and other nonsense is why I'm saying a 'GOODBYE' to True after many years and I hope many thousands of others do the same.
Monopolies get lazy, fat and rich and deserve a kick in the goolies.
I gave them the elbow. Rude, arrogant and now no decent channels.
I bought a 5g 100mbps download/ 20mbps upload service from AIS Via FIBRE OPTIC for 899/month.
Got myself a VorkeZ1 octa-core 64bit, 32 GB ROM (plus SD card expansion) 3GB DDR 4 RAM, DUAL BAND WIFI 2.4Ghz/5Ghz, Bluetooth 4.0/3.0, Android 6.0, Kodi 17.0 (plus a load of others) 4K UHD video, Including remote for $150.00.
(I have 4 left, if anyone wants PM me)
Now I don't have to put up with any more nonsense from True and I get to watch everything they had and MUCH MUCH more.
Happy days!! ??

Of course we should believe she is delusional because the 'police' have such an untarnished reputation that does not include, murder, intimidation, extortion, etc.

I've just sold some land. Looking at getting 3MB back to the UK or into an offshore account.
Does anyone have any good experiences they can share?
I just want to get the funds into the UK or an offshore account at the best rate possible.
