went to Promenada Mall in CM last Monday...found the perfect leather moccasin slippers I have been looking for for 4 (444?...shud I buy a lottery ticket?) months...a bit pricey at 2300 baht per pair, but hey it is BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE!!!...

I don't WANT 2 pair, I don't NEED 2 pair...I simply want ONE PAIR!!!...but could I buy ONE pair of slippers for 1500 baht???..."NO SIR, U MUST BUY TWO PAIR FOR 2300 BAHT"!!!...Thais believe this is a gr8 marketing tactic, but it is really STUPID!!!...T.I.T....

he has to book a flight out, go to airport and pay a B20,000 fine, leave the country and never return for a looooooooooong time!!!...simple as that!

do US passports really have to go back to US for renewal?...never used to be...I had a passport stolen about 6 yrs. ago and a new one took 3-4 days at BKK Embassy...

just for comparison:  I have rented a 3-bedroom (all with aircon), 3-bathroom (all with hot water heaters), for the past 4 years, fully furnished modestly (TV, bedding, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, etc.) in rural Chiang Mai area (10miles from the city)  for 7000 baht per month plus 300 baht per month for maintenance......this was a real bargain!...even Thais thought so!...probably u can get more for your house...
