  1. Hi,

Me and my gf are planning to get married and move together to my home country. If we marry in thailand and we apply for her visa, chances are that we have to wait for 6 months. Instead of staying apart for a long time, I want to get her to stay with me as soon as possible.

I heard before that if I get a standard tourist visa for my gf, and we marry during her stay in my home country, that she can stay in my country indefinitely? Is this true and what is the catch?

Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. I came back from Thailand 1 month ago after a stay of 3 months. I entered the country with no visa and got the 30 day stamp at the airport. After 1 month I extended it with another 30 days and when that was finished, I went to Laos for a couple of days and came back to get another 30 days. The immigration officer asked me a lot of questions when I came back from Laos, asking me if I had a return ticket (I didn't) and what my purpose of staying in Thailand was. I could see that the lady wasn't eager to give me the stamp, but the officer next to her (older man) seemed to be more relaxed and told her to give me the stamp anyway (I guess).

I'm planning to go back to Thailand next month (after a 2 months stay in my home country), and I'm just wondering if I should apply for a tourist visa this time (single entry), or just follow the same process (stamp on arrival and extension after 1 month) I did last time, except for maybe applying for a tourist visa in Laos this time if I feel like staying longer than 2 months.

My question is: is there a limit on how many visas and extensions you can get? I only have a few pages left in my passport and 3 used tourist visas for Thailand already.

    Thank you for the help.

  3. I came to Thailand this time without any visa and just got the 30 day stamp at the airport. Those 30 days are soon coming to an end though, and I was wondering if I could extend it with another 30 days by just going to the immigration office in Pattaya or Bangkok? I have done this about a year ago but at that time I had a 60 day tourist visa, so I'm not sure if I can extend my stay like this if I just got the stamp that I got in the airport in my passport? Thank you very much for the help.
