I publish news articles on a blog about Thailand. Those articles are always translated from English into Dutch, with full credits to the source. I don't want to infringe on anyone's copyrights. When people object, we immediately stop using their news, or remove the articles, if requested. I thought this was all required to prevent copyrights issues.
One newspaper, however, complained. So we stopped using them as source. They didn't want to go to court, fortunately.
I'm just wondering if I have done what is required? Suppose I see on ThaiVisa an article, from that source (in the url). Can I use that? In that case I pick the news up via ThaiVisa. does the copyright also applies to translations?
