I know the stance Thailand has taken isn’t popular and it’s caused me no end of grief too but they appear to have fared better than many far wealthier and supposedly brighter western countries.

Has the question been definitively answered? Is it the law or just advice and guidance?

Did they say what would happen if your balance falls below 800k?
Good question. I have assumed that the visa would be invalid if that happened.

Who is responsible for paying the transfer fee, the buyer or the seller?
How much is the transfer fee (excluding tax and insurance which is already paid)?

Great advice. Thank you. I will get a quote from the dealers.
And you are absolutely right about reading the detail properly. I had no intention whatsoever to ship my vehicles.
THanks.

What is it with people not understanding the question and others suggesting things the op is not asking? Classic example of how unreliable a forum can be. I'm sure folks want to help, but why not read the Original Post before commenting? Strewth!
They are asking:
#2. They are wanting to know the best way to sell the vehicles and furniture HERE.
For me, the best way I found to sell a newish vehicle was direct with the dealer I bought it from, who gave me a better price than any yard + the paperwork is easy. Although you have time to go private, where you'd get the best potential deal, I'd give them a try first. Bikes might be best sold on Baht & Sold... TV Classifieds is still fubar. As for furniture, you could also try Baht & Sold or get the neighbours around and have a yard sale. I got rid of as much as possible before repatriating.
Great advice. Thank you. I will get a quote from the dealers.

do not use these: Siam Pick Pack (Chiang Mai) Co.,
they transported my stuff from Chiang Mai to Hua Hin, and were hopeless. Tiny van arrived with my stuff in there, my pcx in a crate, and just a tiny driver and his daughter, and no way to unpack. I had to get a security guard to help me, absolutely terrible.
Thanks. Very useful to know

I will be relocating back to UK early in 2017.
Could anyone please advise me re:
1. Is there a reliable and affordable company that will ship some belongings ?
2. What is the best way to sell my car, motor bike and some furniture? ( Honda HRV with 7,000kms and Honda PCX 150 with 2,000kms)
Thank you.

Thank you.
I researched a useful website to try to find the best way and the best place. it advised against Laos and favoured Penang Malaysia as the best option, travelling by the night sleeper train from Bangkok. That seems to be the least expensive, least hassle, cheapest and fun way to travel.

Thank you. Thats helpful

Can anyone help me with this please?
My daughter is here in Thailand currently on a Tourist Visa. She wants to learn Thai and has applied to a school in Bangkok. I am advised by Thai Immigration that she will have to leave the country and apply for a student visa from outside Thailand when/if she is approved as a student and gets a contract.
1. Where is the best Thai immigration office to apply from outside Thailand if she is travelling from Bangkok (Hopefully she will be able to complete everything in 1 or 2 days)?
2. What documentation will she require?
Thank you.
