  1. I have friends visiting Phuket in December and looking at the domestic entry requirements, it says you need to be fully vaccinated or have recovered within 6 months.

how does one go about getting one of these certificates? Is there a standardized certificate that must be shown or hospital records? Doctors note? Does anybody have any information regarding this covid recovered entry method?

    thanks

First you would talk to family, then neighbors, the village headman and finally the police.  That is assuming there is a genuine problem.  You should probably spend some time getting to know the background of your girlfriend and where she comes from.  Go spend some time in her village and learn how things work.

Sound advice. I do not expect to be going to chiang rai though. The girlfriend is not exactly long term, but she will be overwhelmed and unsure of what to do, and will look to me for advice. Thank you for your reply.

Police missing persons report after 24 hours.

24 hours is coming up soon. Will the police actually do anything though?

  3. Hi guys.

My 21 yo girlfriend has just messaged me to say her elderly/frail mother has disappeared. Me and the gf are in Bangkok, the family is in rural Chang rai, and are poor.

This is all of the information I have right now, but the Gf is inconsolable. This has never happened before apparently. She disappeared yesterday at some point.

Im trying to formulate a plan should she not show up. I have found a k9 SAR dog group on Facebook that I may contact should this carry on.

Looking for advice on how to proceed and what I can do to help should it be confirmed she is missing? Are there any professional bodies up in chiang rai that will help a poor family?

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: I mention the age of my gf because she is unlikely to have the presence of mind to be proactive about this, her brothers and sisters are outside Thailand, and her father is also elderly. I am suspecting should the bad news be confirmed, I am the only one who is likely to be putting some sort of rescue attempt together.  Me and the GF are in Bangkok

when I renewed they did not ask for a new photo.  If they do require that, you can upload a new photo from your computer  on the DVLA website if you need to, alternatively, if you have renewed a UK passport recently, they will take that. It's got nothing to do with the Embassy,  provided you have a UK address on your licence, which is where they will send the new licence?

I meant for the Thai driving authority to use the license. Some websites say they need the license appraised by the uk embassy for authenticity, others say that is not required

Paper counterpart to a UK licence was abolished some time ago.  The most effective way would be to just renew your UK licence and then go and apply for the Thai one, that saves the possibility of having to do a test. You can renew online easily.   If that is too much hassle, just go and see what they say.  if all else fails, the local Thai driving school will run a short course for you and get you through the test and licence process. My daughter did it last year on holiday from the UK and it cost 5,000 Baht.  She had her Thai licence within 2 weeks.

If renewing online I’m guessing I would need  The updated photo card right? Also some websites say that this needs to be appraised by the Uk embassy, some say this isn’t nessesary. Any info on That?

thank you to both for the replies so far.

  6. I have a Full UK driving license, and have the full motorcycle endorsement.

I only have the pink photo card here in Thailand, and it is expired.

The license its self is still valid, just the photo card is expired pending an updated picture.

I have all of the requirements for the Thai driving license, could somebody tell me if I will run into problems regarding not having the paper counterpart, and the photo card being “expired”.

what is the process to obtaining a Thai Driving license if the UK license is not accepted?

    Thanks

  7. I had a plate inserted into N my arm around 4 years ago and I would like to speak to a orthopaedic surgeon for advice with regards to possibly getting it removed.

    I am currently in Bangkok.

So how do I go about booking a consultation? Is it just a case of walking into a hospital and requesting this?

Also what is the likely cost of the OP? I have bupa insurance provided by a school. Is this likely to cover any of the cost?

    any info appreciated.

  8. I have a large open wound on my leg as a result of road rash.

A puppy has been licking this open would every chance he could. Maybe 3-4 times. This puppy is from a street dog litter and my friend picked it up off the street.

Should I be getting checked out for rabies?

  9. Hi all,

I'm working in CM and finishing at 4pm, looking to train muaythai.

Every camp iv found does not have an evening class starting after 4:30 which is the earliest I could make.

Anybody got any ideas on where I can train muaythai classes after 4:30?

    Regards
