Hi, where in Thailand / which hospital did you get this at? Did you need to make an appointment or did you just walk in?

Heading back to the US after 2 years and my pharmacy of choice doesn't carry it anymore. The stuff is an absolute miracle for jetlag! Thanks in advance for your reply.

If you decide to fly in, make sure that you have everything that they might ask for: a flight out within 30 days, a hotel booking, cash.

Even at U-Tapao, they might question you, but you have a better chance to pass than let's say at Bangkok's airports if you can give satisfactory answers.

    Absolutely, thanks for these reminders.

There have been bad reports from Krabi. There have been positive reports from U-Tapao. I am not aware of recent feedback from Surat Thani. In my opinion, it is unwise to try to enter visa exempt at any airport with an extensive recent history of tourist entries, but U-Tapao would be my choice if I did decide to take the risk.

This is good to hear, considering UTP is by far my 1st choice given my current location. But you're right, it's still a risk regardless, so I'm not sure if I will bother staying in the country past May.

You could apply for a tourist visa instead of using you last visa exempt entry at land border crossings. That would give you 90 days of total stay by extending your 60 day entry for 30 days.

Krabi is not good. No reports of problems at others you mentioned and you could add Hat Yai or Hua Hin to your list.

I was denied a tourist visa at Savannakhet last September (2019). It was with my old passport which was packed full of 6 years worth of visas/stamps/extensions, however I understand now that even with a new passport they can still look up my history using biometrics (I know folks claim the embassies/consulates can't look up your info yet but I still don't want to take the risk). So long story short, I don't want to bother with even trying for another tourist visa. I'm only planning to stay until May or July this year anyway then will be out of the country rest of 2020.

  5. By May of this year, I will have used up my 2 land border entries: The 1st was this month, January, and the 2nd will be in March (back-to-back visa exempt stamps + 30 day extensions). I understand BKK / DMK / CNX / HKT airports have been rife with entry denials/deportations upon arrival for those of us with excessive stamps. Can anybody give any experience of entry denials at UTP (Pattaya), KBV (Krabi), or URT (Surat Thani)? All 3 of these airports have direct international flights from either Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.

I have started going by air to Phnom Penh for a few days holiday instead of the minivan hell runs to the border and back. Much more relaxing and fun. Obviously a bit more expensive but I enjoy a mini holiday for my money. I much prefer a 1 hour Emirates flight to a 6 hour minivan ride, especially on crazy dangerous Thailand roads.

I can understand that. However, in n' outs by air are far too risky for those of us with excessive stamps.

  7. I did a border bounce at Hat Lek / Koh Kong last November 2019 with no problem (across to Cambodia and back in 30 minutes, 300 baht 'fee' paid). However, reading reports today on Thai Visa Advice group in Facebook of folks being turned away upon re-entry on the THAI ARRIVAL SIDE after already paying the usual 300 baht/stamping out of Cambodia ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/1395920320731833/permalink/2622470434743476/ ) and had to be stamped back into Cambodia (another visa for free, though 300 baht 'fee' not refunded), got a hotel for the night, and successfully re-entered Thailand next day. Unfortunately Admins of the group are strict thread-enders and no more news so to speak. Would have liked to hear any more reports from anyone else if they have experienced the same, please let us know here. I need to go 8 January and already paid and got my Cambodian e-Visa.

  8. I am fresh off a 1 Year Non B Ed visa, exited Thailand at Mukdahan Sunday 8/9, applied for single entry tourist visa at Savannakhet yesterday Monday 9/9, went to pick up today 9/10, and after a lengthy interrogation, was denied. To echo the sentiment of many on this thread, there were about 10 of us that had to stick around for interrogations. Anyhow, I got the big fat "Void Without Prejudice" over the visa in my passport.

Having a passport packed full of Thai visas from 2013-2019, I expected this. However, my question is, has anyone had this happen and after ALSO been denied 30 days visa-free entry back to Mukdahan at the border, i.e. stuck in Laos? I have until Thursday the 12th and I'm starting to sweat a bit.

  9. Has anyone had experience doing this? I work for an online teaching company and would like to start teaching a few students independently. However, as many of you probably know, transferring money out of China is difficult and expensive for Chinese people.

I understand Bangkok Bank, Krungthai, and maybe a few others are doing UnionPay cards now, which perhaps could make it much easier for Chinese customers to transfer money to a Thai bank account.

Anyone have experience with any of this? If so, what are the fees for Chinese customers using UnionPay? I’d appreciate any insight at all on this.

  10. Hey guys, I am planning to pass through Dubai next month on my way back to Thailand and I found that there is a Thai Consulate there. After checking their website, I found that they only give Thai visas to people who have a UAE Residence Visa.

I find this very hard to believe, and am wondering if any of you have applied successfully for a Thai TR visa without a UAE Residence Visa? I am a US citizen for reference. Any insight here would be much appreciated. Thanks!
