Thanks for the nod.....my final comment on this subject, is that I have negated inflation over 20 yrs.....as well as the baht value and finally what is the cost of any visa going to be in 20 yrs time...nobody knows, but I will always be paying less than 137 baht a day in other words, whatever is going on in 2036 I will always be paying 2016 prices.... as I say to my friends there is more than one way to skin a cat and everyone has their own way of doing things here. This is my take on the TIT system and how it suites me. Anyhow thanks for the conversation and enjoy yourself..I live in the south, don't like anywhere above 9° 46' 23.39" N..

Listen I hear all the arguments both fore and against the TEVC, and yes it is not cheap in one lump sum, but I am in a the situation where it is for ME the only option in the way I want to conduct myself here, now and in the future. I even looked at the MM2MH but that ain't cheap either. "JayBird," again I am only in it for the 20 year visa the perks are of no issue to myself that is a fallacy about Fosters, we don't drink it and to my Ozzy cousins hopefully I have not offended anyone by lumping everyone together

It used to be advertised for wealthy individuals with deals at all the most expensive hotels, restaurants, limo service to the airport because naturally one is travelling at least club class
Mate, I'm from Oz, have you not seen my country folk in the bars' of Bali, Phuket or Pattaya upmarket we don't do. Yes your right in my case it is ONLY about the visa

Although nice to have easy entry for Thailand (or any country), I'm unsure just how many people actually *need* it
Jaybird it is NOT about easy entry but about the ease of long term stay and my refusal to place large sums of Baht in a TIT banking system. I have been here a long time, and for myself this is the less problematic route for LONG term stay without leaving the country as I will never marry a local, hell I have never been married why start now as I said for me this works fine....

I'll rephrase that i paid 1 million Baht for a 20 year "visa" (one payment) = less than 137 baht per day if my math is correct

You guy's make me laugh, always looking for an "angle." Now it's about privileges and drivers licenses no wonder the authorities have cracked down on visas. For what it's worth I paid for the 20 year x 1 million baht membership (limited perks) and happy as pig in s.... that equates to 137 B a day for the next 20 years for the "PRIVILEGE" of living here and if I want, I never have to leave this fair land as within the terms of said membership/visa. Try that in a western country. On the RV I think 99% of the commentators seem to have collective memory loss as I am sure that you have to lock in 800.000 baht into a TIT bank for the term of stay + the usual add on's and what you're really forgetting, rather than whether or not the E.P membership/visa stays liquid, but can the bank of your choice in TIT stay liquid. I would suggest you check how much in Baht the TIT banks are covering/insuring your hard earn't, or how much you are at risk within the TIT banking system. I know my investment will be safe as it's in the form of a VISA....don't need the perks only a hassle free visa.

Thanks mate, I was actually being a bit sarcastic as I put the wheels in motion after looking up their website. (a better deal I have not seen) for T'land that is.

This is a no-brainer and I am over 50 only wished I looked into it earlier when you could get the life membership. 20 years @ 1 million baht
where do I sign up? No more Immigration hoop jumping, finally NO more visa runs as the REV also does not suit my lifestyle and this ticks ALL my boxes.

Yes, as I said mate, this is my slant of achieving what I want out of this country or my take on it (visa wise) and everyone has their own. I commented many posts ago that I don't do hoop jumping well in TIT so for myself this is the best suited course for my needs. Cheers
