I agree with that if you have issues that may black ball you, I don't. My extension renewals take 1/2 hour on my way to town, very convenient. Not same for all I'm sure. I wonder if elite visa overlooks foreign criminal record. I had a friend get deported for that when he switched from marriage to retirement extension. Brutal, they gave him 48 hours and escorted him to Laos, He lost everything.

How impossible is this story... you really like to repeat this kind of nonsense ?

Really? You want to bring these in? Already there are enough snakes and scorpions of the two legged variety in Thailand (and some other places also).

So why they don't put them in bottles ? I cannot find snake wine anywhere in Thailand. Only Vietnam it seems ?

The Fairtex gym is now asking 20k for fitness only for new members and 18k for existing members renewing. I can't remember for sure but I thought it was 13k last year.

Seems they're getting a little shy about turning on the AC in there as well. Been a bit hot the last few times I was there and a few people complaining about it.

I was thinking that only Thai who understand nothing go there ?

Everybody is talking about it when it has nothing interesting (or less).

Considering that this place has decided that caging animals and birds is a good look for a restaurant, I will be giving it a miss for the foreseeable future.

    What kind of animals ?

'Duty to disobey'.   What utter nonsense.  It's not a Thai thing.  Short-term condo rentals are banned in most civilized countries--usually both by local law and condo by-laws.

Where you come from you have dogs waiting to catch people at the reception ?

Of course not, so we do whatever we want in the west just as in Thailand (because here dogs are cheap).

I can assure you many of them don't. Nowadays it is hard work to get a hotel license. Previously issued licenses would often not be issued if the same building was to be considered today due to the criteria being tightened.

Of course they don't have a hotel license, people are dreaming here, so funny that they have no idea about real life...

As a condo owner in various projects in Bangkok ie Rhythm Ratchada, Rhythm Sukhumvit, Rhythm Huay-Kwang, Centric Ratchada, Ideo Sapan Kwai, The Room Lardphrao etc, we have made sure that other owners do not rent out on a daily basis and the appointed juristic bodies have put up signs and we all make it a point to look out beside the appointed staff to make sure that no "arse" owner disobeys and do the same. The reason is for security purposes and also most of the daily renters make use of the common facilities ie the pool etc daily and mess up the common areas.Long term rentals with proper documentation and local police and  immigration notification is ok. We normally have the juristic committee report the matter to the local police or immigartion straigth away first. On the contrary, most of the receptionists are not "dogs" but are there to ensure security and that there are no strange characters up to no good at these buildings ie drug courriers, peodophiles, prostituition rings etc or unscruplous owners up to no good. One thing taht we have also done is to get the staff to check the air bnb sites to see any units listed in our properties and have them reported.

I have a lifetime membership for all Tony's Gyms and haven't used it since 2013. Not only is it a waste of time training in very hot gyms, it can have a negative impact on your health, sap all your energy (and strength) and generally demotivate you as training becomes a form of torture. A lot of Thai people like to train in hot gyms with no fans or aircon as they can pretend they are having good workouts because they are convinced one judges a workout's benefit by how much you sweat. Some will even wear impervious sweat suits to make them even hotter.

Even in his aircon gyms they switch it off at a certain hour and open all the windows to let the cool, fresh night air in.

Thank you, but what about cardio, is it better to sweat a lot or useless also ?

Should I do 2 hours cardio in aircon room or fan room like Thai ? :-)

    Thank you for your expertise.

There is great 12 room small hotel in the back of Ban Phe - adjacent to the market - a bit hidden away - very well appointed  Thai family run.  Being in heart of Ban Phe its 300m walk to ferry pier  - oodles of choice of thai food to eat - wide choice - and a few beer bars in there too.    It quite a smart choice to day boat to Koh Samet and come back to Ban Phe for evening.

Check here - Photos on web site a bit old garden is very nicely developed now.  Well under your budget.
