Didn't Thailand decline India's offer of 2 million doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine not long ago?Accepting that offer would have made the process fast by a long shot.
Thailand could not accept a gift from India.
As it would be a loss of face for big brother China.
I think most Thais still believe Covid 19,did not come from there.

Book your flight, get your certificates, pay for quarantine etc. then a new strain or a new rule comes out just before you fly and you're locked up for 21 days instead of 14. Test positive for the SA strain and you might also end up in a private hospital for as long as some official decides is necessary. Thousand upon thousands of pounds down the drain.
Most people will decide it's not worth the risk. Certainly not for a holiday.
Maybe time for TAT to revise their worst case scenario down from 2 million?
I am not sure why they keep quoting 14 days?all ASQ hotel packages I have seen are 16 days.
So the 21 days, will more than likely be 23 day packages.

The African variant is a little too different to the other variants and there are questions about the vaccine efficacy but no real evidence yet - it's panic.
They're even quarantining people in hotels in the UK now due to this new African variant, British and Irish people only - if you're not British or Irish, forget about entering the UK from Africa - it's not happening.
Apparently Portugal is on the list of countries where it's present as well which means it's gained a foothold in mainland Europe.
I think that you are forgetting all the people illegally entering the UK every day.
I doubt they are going to stay in a quarantine hotel.
-
Why do they keep saying 14 day quarantine?
When every ASQ hotel package is 16 days.

Why do they still insist on saying a 14 day quarantine.
When you cannot get a ASQ hotel for anything less than 16 days?
Those extra 2 days make a big difference.
In the UK its 10 days self isolation, which can be cut down to 5 if you pay for a second test.
You are also allowed to isolate at your home.
As far as I am aware(I could be wrong),the vast majority of people to have skipped quarantine in Thailand have been Thai nationals.

How is that? You can extend it once for 1900 baht.
I was talking to somebody else about the Thai elite visa, but posted here by mistake.

But you can stay a lot longer than 60 days.

The Thai elite card does not look so bad after all,no need to show funds.

My bad, just finished a night shift.
And did not read it properly, as I have kids in Thailand,I do not need to show these funds for a 60 day visa.
But friends of mine that also visit have no chance of doing so again, this amount is ridiculous.

I pressed on the link for the London embassy,it mentions nothing about this!
-
Just go to the Thai embassy and get a new one.

I'm spending a month in Thailand.
Two weeks of which will be in a very quite town in the middle of Thailand.
So my question is roughly how much money will I need, for two weeks in Pattaya?
All my hotels are pre booked.
And taxi transfers from Bangkok.
Thanks in advance.
-
Could somebody please explain the Thai elite visa?
As on their Web page it's pretty shady.
Thanks on advance.

If I did the 90 days + 60 extention.
So effectively 5 months.
Could I only do this once a year.
As my kids would live the majority of the time with their Mum(for school).
So that would rule out the one year visa.
And stay with me school holidays.
As where they live is a quite town outside Lop Buri (pretty much full of her family).
Which would make living there almost impossible.
Thanks in advance,
Stuart.

Sorry about the late questions.
So I would need my kids birth certificates (English or Thai?).
And would I also need a copy of their names in the blue house book?
Also one last question, with the visas both options will they be affected by me not living in the same house/part of Thailand as them.
As I could not stay the whole time near my ex wife.
Thanks in advance Stuart.

Thanks in advance.
I have just got divorced from my Thai wife.We have kids living with her.
And she has returned their,I am still living in England.
I was wondering if anybody new of the easiest way for me to transfer money to her every month?
-
Could anyone please help me.
Myself and my Thai wife are getting divorced.
And she is returning home with our sons,is there a specific visa I can get for visiting them.
As the 29 day entry visa is to short a visit.
Thanks in Advance Stuart.

MikeyIdea thankyou very much for your advice.
I don't mind paying 25000 thb a month as I want to guarantee they are okay.
The house even though I paid for it is in her name, but it wasn't that much anyway.
And if my kids are housed I'm happy with the loss.
I definitely need a lawyer to oversee any agreements over funds and visiting rights(a Thai lawyer).
-
Not where they live,as I've said earlier she already has a house.
I've built so no need to rent.
And I will pay all school fees,so 25000 every four weeks (13 times a year),
Is more than fair,or we could go to court and she would more than likely get a lot less,as they will be living in a small town.
I'm not trying to be cheap with my kids future.
But I also do not want to be ripped off,as I am paying for my kids wellbeing and not hers.
-
AlexRRR
She says she wants 50000 thb a month and that's it.
I've explained that 25000 thb a month is more than reasonable, but she refuses to accept it.
-
We are getting the quick divorce near her hometown,no lawyers.
I've built a new house which they will live in,so she won't need to rent anywhere.
When we holiday for a month there,we spend about 20000 thb on everything.
So I've started off by offering 25000thb plus I'll pay the school fees.
-
Funnily enough their website doesn't even load.
Hardly the sign of a top school lol.
-
They are going to live in a little town.
So the living costs are low,but my ex wife is saying ridiculous amounts.
I said I would pay 25000 a month plus the school term fees.
Yet in a sleepy little town(that I've been to several times over our nearly 9 years together)she says the school cost £1000 per term for each of my school age children.
Which I know is rubbish.
-
I am divorcing my Thai wife.
And she is going back home to Thailand to live with our 4 sons.
How much should I pay child maintenance?
They are aged 7,5,21 months and 4 months.
