Hi Guys,
is it possible leaving the country on a re-entry permit during my under consideration period (year extension based on marriage).
Thanks in advance

First of l dunno why you are using capital letters, I find that impolite since it's like screaming, secondly, judging from what you wrote, you've assume THAT the OP ain't got no money... Maybe I misinterpreted it.
Where do you see the word job in my post ?
someone can have a revenue without a job...If you aint got money don't come is the lowdown on the new rules.
TOURIST VISA WITH MULTIPLE ENTRIES
COPIES OF LATEST 6 MONTHS BANK STATEMENTS SHOWING MINIMUM OF £5,000 CONTINUOUSLY BANK STATEMENTS MUST SHOW APPLICANT'S NAME AND ADDRESS
COPY OF CONFIRMED RETURN OR ONWARD AIR TICKET WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF ENTERING THAILAND COPY OF CONFIRMED RESERVATION AT A HOTEL
or
IF STAYING WITH RELATIVES/FRIENDS, COPY OF UTILITY BILL SHOWING THEIR NAME & ADDRESS IN THAILAND
LETTER FROM EMPLOYER STATING HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED AND THAT THEY ARE AWARE YOU ARE GOING TO THAILAND FOR UP TO 6 MONTHS
or
IF SELF EMPLOYED, PHOTOCOPY OF LATEST SUBMITTED HMRC SA100 SELF EMPLOYED TAX

As said the income tax return, an hotel booking for at least 2 nights, return flight at 6 months and of course the 6000 euros. They accept also the equivalent in baht on a Thai bank account. In Italy, precisely in Naples, a friend of mine just got it presenting an income tax return, he's jobless.
If 100% confirmed, it would be great if you could post everything he was asked to present to the METV thread.

They double-checked the reason for the application and he pulled out the thai birth certificate copy for my son and then said ok.
So you've obtained your Multi-entry visa based on your Thai Son, not wife, am I understand it correctly?

I'm Italian... the others I really don't know...Siriam, what was the nationality of your passport? What were the nationalities of the other passports applicants that you can remember?

Where was the bad experience?
Farang loss of face.
I've just came back from KL's Thai consulate,Pretty sure in KL it would be an embassy, not a consulate.
I saw many people pissed off with this new procedure and strict requirements… personally I'll try to avoid this consulate for the future.First of I didn't loose my face, they did. I had all the paperwork they required and more in my briefcase.
Yes it is an Embassy, but visa are taken care by the consular section... besides, is it so important point that out ?
I made my report because I believe it could be useful to many ... if you don't like it just ignore it.

if you had the 400K in a bank account why not get an extension within Thailand? If the money had not been seasoned for long enough you could have got an extension to cover the time required for seasoning.
The answer is very simple, I was under annual extension until august 31st, I did not have 400 k and therefore I asked an extension of 60 days and I booked my trip to KL, very convenient for me since I live in Phuket. I've got my funds 3 weeks ago... and beside the fact that it's also pleasant living Thailand once in awhile, I couldn't have asked for any further extension... could I?

There have been many reports about KL not being the best place to obtain any visa!
At least they accepted your application!
Yes, but few months ago a friend of mine went there for the same visa and the proof of funds wasn't a requirement.

I've just came back from KL's Thai consulate, where I've applied and obtained a Non Immigrant O Visa based on Marriage, and I have to say that it was a bad experience.
I arrived there at 9.30 and there were already 30 people before me waiting for apply… not a big deal. At 10.20 they called my number and I handed to the lady at the counter the following paperwork:
-
Application duly filled out and signed
-
1 Photo passport size
-
Copy of my Passport (page with all the info and pic)
-
Letter of my wife asking a visa for me (not mandatory but someone says is useful)
-
Copy of Marriage certificate
-
Copy of the ID of my wife
-
Copy of the Tabian Baan
She asked me to take a seat and wait up. At 11.30, after more than one hour, she called me back to the counter and she asked me a further documentation: “The Bank statement” proving that I had 400k deposited in my account. Please note that I just asked a single entry, non a multi-entry.
Fortunately I had with me the bank book updated on Oct. 25th and a copy of the last page. I waited again patiently until 12.15 and finally I paid 300 ringgit and told to come back the next day at 14.30.
I saw many people pissed off with this new procedure and strict requirements… personally I'll try to avoid this consulate for the future.

If you are working you are not a tourist, the Topic is about a tourist visa.

Right, and if you have a job you have time to come and stay in Thailand for 6 or more months...It also says you need to show proof that you have a job

A friend of mine just sent me this shot of a Notice at the Thai Embassy In Rome and it basically says that on the 13th of November they will start to issue this visa at the fee of 150 euros and that at the same time they gonna stop issuing the double and the triple entry TV. One of the requirements for the application is showing a bank statement with minimum 6000 euros in it.
Just wondering if it's gonna be like this everywhere...

Thanks Guys, precious as usual.

Hi all,
The immigration act that I can find is dated 2522 http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/doc/Immigration_Act.pdf and I don't see any sort of revision since then... Is it still the same or it's me that I can't find a fresh one?
Thanks

Hi Guys,
I've read somewhere that since may this year it's possible crossing the border to Myanmar from Prachuap Khiri Khan... anybody knows if it's true?
Thanks
