Everyone know this. What problems you have ?
Oh, you don't want to begin to hear my problems. I think the relevant question is what problem do you have with Thai Chinese nationals celebrating the Luna New Year? Are you offended, affected or just bloody ignorant to another culture?

Mr. or is it Mrs. Cat. I'm to your information very well aware of the presence of Chinese descents in Thailand being married with a Thai Chinese for nearly a decade but that not mean I think that a government without support from all the citizens (doesn't they call it democracy!) should have the right to decide a new foreign public holiday. Btw, good luck with your polite attitude.
Felt.
Yawn..."I'm to your information" Lol! One last comment Mr. Felt, a democracy does not necessarily have "support from all of the citizens" A democracy is supported and voted in by the majority of citizens "doesn't they call it democracy" Now, just consider yourself privileged that you encountered my "polite" attitude tonight.

Whatever? You are not very clever are you? The ratio of Thai's or Thai decedents in Europe does not even begin to compare to the ratio of Chinese decedents in Thailand. Perhaps you could upskill at some stage and come back to class with a more informed opinion Mr. Felt.

They are not "making every Thai observe" It has been declared a government holiday. Therefore, government run departments etc. will not be open. Everyone else is free to carry on and celebrate, or not, as they wish.

What’s your point?
Just saying that there is a large contingent of Thailand's population that have every right to celebrate Chinese New Year. Why does that bother you to the point of feeling compelled to start a thread denouncing the whole tradition?

I'll donate if we crowd fund a one way ticket out of Thailand, if you really don't like it here.

When there is a putsch in Asia, it is the Communists who take power, so after Prawit's declarations that China is our family and the new dictator of Miramar who asks the Thai government for assistance how to make a putsch has a democracy e always remained in power, it seems logical to me that the words communist are applied much more every day to Thailand and China and become the dominant country in Asia, the strong repression of the last years of the dominant Buddhists and which had more power over the populations and although this process which is underway, the celebrations of the Chinese New Year is nothing other than the ongoing process, to remember many festive and religious celebrations with the guise of Covid are also disappeared or canceled. The shopkeepers must follow these new unwritten but well-written rules to survive
Welcome to the new Thailand, any more LOS,
Have you noticed how many people no longer smile ?
Have a close look and you will see that most of the shop keepers and / or big business owners are Chinese. Yet another conspiracy tragic,

Agreed but you still can't take the Chinese out of the Thai Chinese and you are never gonna stop Chinese New Year being celebrated here, no matter how much winging you do.

The girls look cute dont get me wrong, but it's new to me.
Is this a state sponsored push of chinese nationalism due to the covid pandemic?
are they forcing thais to be more china centric this year?
even in my local 7/11 they are all kitted out in chinese uniforms.
tbh, china can do one after what they have bestowed upon the world.
That's my thoughts on the matter anyway.
Have another wine WineOh, not everything you read is a conspiracy. It is now a government holiday and after all the suffering and huge numbers of the population being gutted by Covid, let them have their fun, you miserable sod.

-
a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease
Can a vaccinated person be a carrier for the disease they are vaccinated against and spread it to other people?
To clarify- I'm not talking about a situation where a person gets vaccinated but may already be infected and then can spread the virus. If a fully vaccinated person comes in contact with someone who has whooping cough (or another disease) can they carry the disease and pass it on to someone else? I think no. Especially with something like whooping cough because it is spread through coughing. If you are a carrier and would therefore be asymptomatic you wouldn't be coughing and therefore wouldn't be spreading the disease
lMost definitely. Not only are there no vaccines that have a 100% efficacy rate, but you can have variations within a disease (classic example being influenza) that allow you to become infected even if you're vaccinated. Some vaccinations have scarily low rates of efficacy, an example would be the BCG Vaccine against TB, which has an efficacy between 0 and 80% depending on a whole range of factors.
Another fairly obvious way in which you can spread disease despite not being infected with it is simple physical transmission. I shake hands with someone who has sneezed on their hand, then shake hands with a third person, and they can catch the disease person one had due to infectious agents such as viral particles or bacteria being physically transferred person to person, regardless of whether I became infected.
A final way that this can occur, and perhaps the most interesting is that some diseases can form physical structures within the body and effectively 'hide' from the immune system, then can be released at a given time. The classic example of a disease doing this is Tuberculosis. If you do happen to inspire some particles of M. tuberculosis, and they happen to reach your lung, they can form what is known as a Tubercule within your lung, a small round nodule of bacteria surrounded by fibrous tissue that is ignored by your immune system. You can carry these while not infected with TB for decades, but rupturing one through physical trauma or respiratory distress (Such as heavy coughing) can activate an infection in you and/or make you infection to other people.

and your point is? Do you think that the TVF brethren are not that smart that they don't know what a vaccine is? With a few exceptions that spring to mind, we are a mostly intelligent community....

Gotta let tourists in...screen them and if they jump through the hoops let them in! Also don't screw around about vaccines...if someone has a vaccine LET THEM IN NO QUARANTINE! Enough is enough time to get over the excessive fear.
So, I haven't seen any talk about, if someone has been vaccinated, can they still be a carrier of the virus and possibly still able to transmit to others? Just asking.

Maybe they have a more realistic view. The “woman” are equal to man is PC nonsense. Men and women are not the same.
Some things women are generally better at, but name me a really significant life changing invention by a woman.
If it wasn’t for blokes inventing electricity, cars, planes, TV, the light bulb, the Internet, refrigeration, heating etc etc etc we would all still be living in cold dark caves.
plenty of rapes, murders, shootings depicted in Western film fiction, which is also a lot more violent.
It is only fiction. I don’t think real life rapists sit around watching soaps or are influenced to rape by them. Soaps are overwhelmingly more popular with female viewers
I am in no way a liberal, woman deserve equal rights, burn the bra sort of guy and believe it or not I have even figured out that men and women are not the same but what you are purporting is pretty extreme.
"Real life rapists" don't probably decide to rape anyone unless motivated or triggered by something else.
So, you have a survey to back up your statement that lesser educated females are the most prominent soap viewers?

Viewed from an outside perspective, they are the weakest "men" I have ever encountered. 30 years in Thailand and I would'nt call 1 Thai "man" a good friend!
Agree on the manhood thing however, over a similar period of time in country, I have gained some really good Thai (bloke) Mates. That being said, the examples of useless Thai blokes definitely out numbers the good guys. Many angry, self entitled varmints, trying to fight above their weight but fail miserably. Good morals, ethics and purportedly, the ability to conjure up a decent <deleted> are sorely missing.

Amateurs! Oral Roberts is rolling in his grave, laughing at the TQ owners' puny efforts 555

On a more serious note, how long does 16 grand (480 k thb) last when running an operation like the TQ? Rent, salaries, electric bill (you could hang meat in there) would chew through that money pretty quickly. The economic conditions that have caused bars to fail haven't improved, so how long until the next plea for money? Something strange is afoot.
I'm also surprised that Gofundme held a fundraiser for an establishment that profits from the avails.... you get the idea. Something tells me that that aspect of the business was omitted when the fundraiser application was submitted. I laughed out loud when I read the blurb from whoever started the campaign (.... Rock n roll bar... 555).
Best of luck to the TQ. I love the place but haven't set foot in there for quite a while. Hopefully the offshore guys will return and the 10k + bins will start to flow again.
There was a lot of meat hung in there. I contributed my fair share over the last nearly 25 years btw ????....Classic venue, awesome meories, long time friends and I sincererly hope that the legend lives on.

Just watch the Thai news channels. All sorts of gruesome events being filmed and broadcast there. But hey, hang on a minute, they do blur out handcuffs and the occasional corpse.
I agree, the Thai soaps are way over the top and definitely present a real bad example and what they portray as normal behaviour. Excessive amounts of women getting slapped around really annoys me.
