  1. I am not flying from Rayong, but from Bangkok. The airport is a 2 hours drive from where I stay in Rayong.
  2. I read that, from Chiang Mai to Huay Xai, and felt irrelevant to my situation. What I didn't read was that I could do another visa exemption on top of my two previous ones via this "3 days 2 nights" trip though. I was reading this thread when you replied and was seeing other posters explaining how they were enjoying the Nong Khai border runs, compared to the "hassle" of the Cambodian border run. Thank you very much for your insights, they're much appreciated.
  3. (Note: I was flying from Bangkok to Udon Thani, then from Udon Thani back to Bangkok, around 6 hours from Rayong to Vientiane) I would rather stay for a couple of months in Lao or Vietnam than getting in any kind of trouble with Thailand authorities. According to BrandonJT: Are those agencies indeed reliable ? I apologize, Dr., but I have never used an agent, never crossed the Cambodian border (and never heard a relaxing story about it).
  4. Yes, I am located in Rayong. Why is does the Cambodian route make so much more sense when I have been successfully going by myself through Nong Khai to Lao (where Thai is also spoken, and the Thai baht useable) without any agency or fixer whatsoever for years and years ? I don't understand the confusion.
  5. I never did that in 20 years, and never had an issue at the Laotian border. I guess I would not try the Pattaya-Cambodia route because I never needed it ? This was a first, and yeah, that was as stupid as it was crazy of me.
  6. I was afraid of that, which is why I am posting here. I can spend the next three months in Lao or Vietnam, but my girlfriend can't leave her job and come with me so I hoped it would be possible to come back. The many many previous years, I stayed 2 visas exempt (border runs in Lao) + 1 Single Entry Tourist Visa (made in Vientiane) for a total of 7 months per year. May I ask what a "border bounce agency" is, compared to visa agencies ?
  7. Because I figured I should come back into Thailand by land rather than flying back, and because I am just used to cross the border there. I am located in Rayong.
  8. Hello, sorry for piggy-backing on this thread. I just had two extended VEs back to back (I exited Thailand through NongKhai to Vientiane where I took a plane straight back to Bangkok DMK), 180 days altogether. My (2nd) extended visa exemption will expire on the first week of April, and I will be around here before going back to work in Switzerland in June. I understand now that I took a risk flying back, especially on the same day. What are my chances of doing a border run in Nong Khai (and staying in Vientiane the two-three nights I just learned about, this time) ? Would I have better chances if I applied for an SETV in Vientiane, then crossing in NongKhai ?
