  1. Particle matter, such as blue PVC shavings or sand can cause trouble, even on a quality water pump. Crossy's observation I have experienced "It's possible that the non-return valve on your pump inlet is leaking and letting the pressure out that way ".  A non return valve can have the "gate open" by particle matter.

  2. All good advice given. Those blocks are going to "suck up" the primer even if cleaned. You may heed the heed the advice on skim coat. It will pay off in savings of primer. 5 gallons of Nippon Flex Shield primer is about 2000 baht a bucket at Global House or Thaiwatsadu. That primer will cover 150 to 170 square meters of wall surface if it is rendered. It never hurts to fill in cracks on fences. Dulux Weathershield super primer is also a product I have bought and been very satisfied with.

  3. In Buriram, the authorized warranty repair station for dozens of brands is YJ Electric. They DO come to your home to look at a fridge problem. I believe the OP should contact the manufacturer and see what repair facility is authorized for his city. Even the mainstream Chinese brands signs agreements with repair service centers in Thailand. Even Beko from Turkey has agreements with repair facilities. Samsung and LG generally have their own dedicated service centers.

  4. The Puma listed above may prove a disappointment for painting. It is a very LOUD model. A Puma with a Mitsubishi or Hitachi electric motor will not be under 5000 baht. It will be a much better long term purchase and will run at a reasonable sound level. TEST the air compressor in any store before you spend your money. Bring ear plugs for the Puma series shown above.

  5. The OP can walk into any Global House Store (when they open up again) and see a nice display on solar options both off grid and tie in. Easy to do the math. HomePro also has a display with prices of solar power options for a home in Thailand. There are half a dozen stores selling solar equipment in Buriram,  There are expats who design and install solar systems large and small in Buriram and Surin Province with actual customers. This blog shows a large solar system power a nice home in Surin Province.

  6. Not sure the Stanley is as accurate as the two Bosch GTS 10J or Bosch GTS 10XC Table saws I see in Buriram. Big Wood Brand is another table saw brand that is worth the consideration of the OP. Bosch offers some nice folding table stands for compound miter saws and 10 inch table saws.

  7. Shaemus and AsianatHeart are giving the OP a good tip to consider HDPE pipe. He can also pay a minor extra fee for a larger water meter. It is only a one time fee to have a larger water meter so he has the ability to draw more water from the PWA line serving his property.  HDPE connectors are widely available in Buriram.

  8. The OP posted a cold water tap. It is not a mixer tap. There are plenty of people in Thailand who choose to not have hot water. VRH certainly makes mixer taps for hot and cold water lines to be connected. The item listed by the Op is very modest in price and not a mixer tap. It is listed as a single basin faucet.

    Product Model: HFVSP-2000C1
    Barcode: N/A
Product Name: Deck single basin faucet
    Product Category: FAUCET

    Product Spec
    Stainless Steel 304

    Warranty information : 12 Years
    Product Status : AVAILABLE

  9. Maybe too far for the OP, but Stihl and Husqvarna chain saws are repaired 7 days a week in Buriram. German, Spanish, English translated for the Thai repairmen at Buriram Builders Merchants. Parts have been ordered for me for Husqvarna lawn mowers and Stihl chain saws and garden tools in Buriram.

  10. I've bought my share of corded and battery hedge trimmers in Buriram Thailand. The Makita 36 volt hedge trimmer has served my Thai wife better than the previous corded Makita hedge cutter and the under powered 18 volt Hitachi hedge trimmer. My wife is comfortable with a petrol self propelled lawn mower, yet she was not game for a Hitachi or Makita petrol hedge trimmer.  The actual warranty repair service, after warranty period repairs and spare parts help me decide where to spend money in Thailand on any power tool, water pump gardening or electronic product.

  11. The Troy Bilt Mustang Zero Turn Lawn mower is at least 130,000 baht less that the Toro Time cutter HD X5450 model with 137 cm Cutting deck in Thailand. Both are excellent zero turn lawn mowers given the limited selection of actual zero turn lawn mowers imported into Thailand by authorized importers. Limited models of genuine Castel Garden, Orec, Husqvarna riding lawn mowers are also imported into Thailand by authorized importers. In my experience some lawn mower importers are far superior in stock of spare parts for the models they import than some other importers of lawn mowers.

  12. The OP could do the right thing and buy and install proper septic tanks for toilets and urinals. Any store sells these in any good size community. If his builder acts confused on a black or grey septic tank then he needs to consider a different builder. I guarantee you that every licensed architect plan will include proper plastic septic tanks in the drawing in Thailand. I've seen more than my share of actual real architect house plans in all house sizes and building budgets.  The previous posts have given the OP some great accurate replies. To give the OP a real sense of PEA monthly electric bill I noted that this 5 bedroom home with a swimming pool for sale in Buriram has posted PEA monthly bills of under 3000 baht each month.  PWA government water bill of under 600 baht a month. Solar exterior lighting.

Two kitchens with Siemens Gas HOB, and two water pumps. The home listed for sale in Buriram includes Ethernet wiring, video cameras.

  13. Yes I have seen retired Railroad Ties on sale on Highway 2447 on the left side of the highway as you depart Buriram and head towards Surin. These wooden railroad ties are stacked up at the largest second hand truck dealer in Buriram. There are dozens and dozens of oil tankers and large commercial trucks on sale at this dealership on Highway 2447. Not far from a PT gas station.   Next time I drive that way I will post a photo and the GPS coordinates. The used truck dealership is at least ten minutes from the traffic lights intersection of Highway 288 and Highway 2447.

  14. The OP would be well served if he bought one of the VRH models. Made in Thailand, and backed by a real warranty. I've bought many brands, yet only VRH has worked as well for so many years. The Cotto and Toto toilets with the built in sprays are well worth consideration if you have the budget. My next home will have one of those brands with the Japanese style sprayer and dryer. VRH is sold at most every Global House or ThaiWatsadu.  HomePro does not stock this brand.

  15. As a general rule TCI is a less expensive swimming pool tile than Kera. However it is manufactured in Thailand by a very established company, and is not a random broker import from China or Vietnam. Kera tile would be my first choice for  swimming pool in Buriram, yet there is a price difference.

  16. Those in the photo are in fact TCI swimming Pool tiles. The "series" is written in Thai. Check the website or printed catalog and you will understand they are sold and installed as swimming pool tiles. The Buriram United Sports Team swimming pool and the Rajabhat Buriram Olympic size swimming pool which was built in 2017 both are tiled with TCI swimming pool tiles. Those tiles are thicker than Cotto swimming pool tiles, but not nearly as thick as Kera Brand swimming pool tiles.
