    - point of doing it.... you need a strong budget for the visa situation ...... but look like there isn't much cheaper option for travelling in thailand at that time and probably still now..seem like it is very strict and from the people i know...they said ..in the contrary ..its easy .... so i guess i just want to be prepare for any kind of issues related to visa ....

I agree with what you say to a certain extent, if you really want to be prepared then best way to go is get a visa from your home country.

just to make you aware, there is no double entry tourist visa now, only single or multi.

An ED visa might be the way forward for you but these days you do actually have to meet the criteria to keep them valid.

ticket to go to lao ...and apply for a multi-entry tourist visa good plan ? or too risky?

Good plan if you meet the all the requirements, if you can meet the requirements there then you are as well applying for one in France before you travel

    am french.

    And am 30 years old.

    New passport.

    ticket plane (thai airways)

    hotel reservation in bkk (ok)

(i can also justify an adress in thailand )

You will struggle to find a visa for 12 months at least at 30 years old.

you will also require a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days if you do not have a valid visa before travel

    You may have two passports

Might have 2 passports but pretty useless here, you pretty much need to exit on the passport you enter with, unless you have received a new passport but still need to get your extension transferred or show your old passport for the original entrance stamp.

and as already said, if your not in the country then no need for a 90 day report

Thank you for explaining. In normal circumstances I would certainly do a visa run or get a tourist visa from a nearby country. But it's quite an unique situation now in that I'm waiting for papers for my ED visa to come back from Ministry of education, and it's cutting it a bit close to the date of my visa expiration date (1st of July). So even another 7 days would be very convenient.

Could you please explain to me what documents do I need for extending my stay with the 7 day stamp? Same ones as the last time when I extended my visa exempt? I assume it won't matter too much if the whole point is to go there to get rejected :P

It will be exactly the same, even though it is rejected it will still cost you 1900 baht, if I was you I would do a visa run.

if your papers are delayed even more then you will have to leave the country anyway.

Thank you very much for response both ubonjoe and BritTim.

I read about a seven day extension, is that different? I understand additional 30 days is impossible but would I be able to extend a visa exempt for another 7 days? Thank you very much in advance.

There is not a 7 day extension as such, if you apply for another extension your application will be denied and you will get a 7 day stamp in which you will have to leave the country within that time.

I think it would be better doing a visa run than going back to immigration, at least you would get another 30 day visa exempt entry which could be extended again.

that is providing you have not already done 2 visa runs at land borders already this year.

  7. If your wife is thai then you can extend your tourist visa by 60 days.

not too sure about the rest but at least the 60 day extension gives you more time to sort things out.

if your wife is thai then you could apply for a non o multi entry based on marriage at a nearby embassy/consulate and as far as I am aware you could apply for the work permit with a non o visa.

I'm Sticking with Avalon Residence,As Pilgrims Kitchen only had 1 Room left on Booking.Com but that had NO Window & I Think it would've been a bit claustrophobic !!

I found it very claustrophobic with no windows, that is the only reason I would not stay at pilgrims again.

everything else about pilgrims (staff, food, comfort, value) was really good.

My mistake is not to go back to the border but the border guard have made mistake to not stamp my passp

Maybe was a mistake by the immigration but a bit late now to be looking for solutions.

even if you did get a visa exempt stamp in January then you would still be at about 4 months overstay and would still receive a ban if you went to the airport today.

the amount of time you have spent in the country without sorting your problem is definitely your own mistake.

all you can probably do as already stated is use the 20000 baht you offered in an earlier post and go to the airport and hope they just let you pay the fine, give you a ban and board your flight.

  10. You mentioned in a previous post last week that you are already mentioned in a blue book and your father was born in Chang mai, I may be wrong but I think you are a thai citizen by birth.

could the embassy that you are trying to get the visa from not help you in reviving your citizenship or just get a tourist visa and when you are in Thailand then go through the process of sorting out evidence and getting an ID card and passport.

if you were In a blue book once you will still be in one somewhere.

  11. If someone from immigration notifies the school that they are coming for a visit then good chance someone already knows there are illegal workers there.

i think you answered most of your own questions in your op.

personally I would rather be unemployed and looking for a proper legal job than risking everything.

Even before the army were making things more difficult it was still illegal to work without a work permit.

Thanks for the useful info. I can get a visa exempt, but am trying to avoid it. I've already had 3 exemptions this year and have had 2 SETV from Nov. 2016.

    1. Do you know if there's any difference or advantage in getting the re-entry permit at the airport or     immigration office?

    2. In your experience where is best to do a Visa run from BKK? I'm doing Vientiane for the first, but have to plan for the second in approx. 90 days. Haven't been to Malaysia so that could kill two birds.

    Thanks.

Just out of curiosity, how many of your visa exempts this year were by air and how many at land borders?

are you aware of the 2 visa exempt entries per year at a land border
