I am afraid if you are of a slight tanned pigmentation and I am talking from my personal experiences, Asia lives in the dark ages with huge attitudes towards citizens of colour from across the globe. I am a Brit of Asian DNA and have been in and out Malaysia Thailand and Cambodia. I am always treated with suspicion as I have a London accent. When I say I from England the expectancy is why am I black so I cannot be from a European Country? Ignorance, a lack of Education and perhaps lacking in travel skills, I am not sure which but you cannot live your life around their perceptions so it is what it is so enjoy what's on offer and discard the negative. You would have thought as we are presently in the 21st Century we would have a young progressive mentality instead of the old dark days of extreme bureaucracy? We seem to thrive on fundimental stupidity and the application for common sense is not par for the course? Just my thoughts!

PAYG (pay as you go) was someone's advice! My partner who is 100% Thai has always informed me "DO NOT TRUST ANYONE" so I have lived by that Mantra as sound advice. All part of the learning curve sadly.

Get rid and have a young nubile wench move in who can't cook so you can eat out eradicating all evil smells. If that fails get back on your Space Ship and move back to your Alien world which is obviously not Thailand??

There is no doubt Thailand is not whenever you originate from so erase the thoughts of your Homeland and go with the flow. Thai's do what they want to do and when they want to do it so when in Rome so to speak???
I personally take advantage of whatever they have to offer and live a quiet undisturbed and peaceful life. That's what I wanted, away from a City, away from working in a city, away from people in a city?? Am I there? Nearly, but as it stands it will do! No TV Licence, No Residents Parking! Parking in Oxford for 4 hours = 15 quid or thereabouts! Hiked up Road Taxes, Exorbitant Car Insurance, Over the top house Insurance, Rip off Central Heating Bills, Council Tax and not sure when they are going to introduce a breathing Tax next??
No just enjoy what I can and when I can and I do!!!

Just for the record at age 13 I was doing a Daily Paper Round and on a Saturday I worked in Fishmongers! Was I exploited?? I personally classed it as "Work Experience" and it gave me a 360 vision of reality!
