What if some day soon, the Thai government enacts a law that anyone who has had a previous overstay cannot enter the Kingdom? Make it a blacklist offense? Impossible? We shall see....

I don't understand what good is having "unlimited local access"? This may be good for gamers but most people need to access the international line.

AirAsia creates history with Baht 99 one way fares on domestic routes in Thailand!
Bangkok, - AirAsia, Asia's first low fare no frills airline launches its famous "red hot" low fares in Thailand and creates history with the lowest ever air fare in Thai aviation. From February 3, AirAsia will operate daily point-to-point flights from its new Bangkok hub to Chiang Mai, Phuket, Hat Yai and, from February 12 to Khon Khaen.
To celebrate its arrival in the Thai skies, AirAsia offers 20,000 seats at a promotional launch fare of Baht 99 one way (excluding taxes and fees). The promotional fare applies to all its flights and is good for travel from February 3 to February 29, 2004. Seats must be purchased from January 14 to January 19, 2004. The promotional launch fare may not be available on all flights and guests should book early to avoid disappointment.
Once confirmed, bookings for these promotional fares cannot be changed, transferred or rebooked to another date, and payments made are not refundable in the case of cancellation.
Bookings for these flights can be made at AirAsia's website www.AirAsia.com, or by calling its Nationwide Call Centre in Bangkok at 02-515 99 99. The Call Centre is open every day from 8.00 am to 9.00 pm. Payments can be made by credit card for all on-line as well as telephone bookings. Telephone bookings can also be paid by cash, within 48 hours of the booking, at any of the 600 Krung Thai Bank branches.

You're mistaken, it is 99B one-way. I booked it and paid for it already. Cost me 532B return including all taxes.

Anyone know a good chiropractor in Bangkok? At a good price? I visited the office of Sanctuary Chriopractic Natural Health on Soi Langsuan today, they want 2,500B for first visit and 1,200B each additional visit. Quite expensive. Their prices went up 30 percent since November. At that time, additional visits were 800B.

The CAT cards can be obtained at the Thailand Post (post office) or other designated retailers (business with CAT ad for phone cards). The rate for Thailand to USA is 9B a minute. No extra charge for pay phone use. This information is from the CAT Call Center as of Jan 6.

Not to put anyone down, this is just my observation from reading many posts here. It seems to be that the two main business ideas that farangs come up with is to either open a bar or a massage business. From what I can see here in Thailand, I think those business sectors are already struggling with the established companies. And if you point this out to the farang who is thinking about it, his/her response would be, "Yes, but my business idea is different than the others." In the end, it really isn't anything new.

Melatonin is also considered a "drug" in Thailand. It is available over the counter in US.

The numbers look great. However, it only takes another SARS incident, terriorist act, or military action and the numbers will dive. The world is changing....

So much misinformation out there. It is downright scary!

Just because steriods are sold at some pharmacies in Thailand, doesn't make it legal to possess. Also, protein powder isn't illegal in Thailand. Two brands are available at GNC, Sports One 2lbs. 2,500B and GNC brand 2lbs. 2,900B. All food (sports nutrition) products sold in Thailand must have product registration certification from the Thai FDA.

I wish you the best in your venture. However, if I had a nickel (2B) for everytime I heard someone say they wanted to open a bar in Thailand, I would be in line now to buy the "Thailand Elite" card for 1 million Baht. Sorry krub, just my two cents (75 satangs) worth.

Website Development & Networking

I am a farang who wants to set up a new website for my business in Thailand. The problem seems to be finding someone who speaks English that can do the project for me. It is quite technical because I need an advanced shopping cart system and help networking the PCs. Anyone care to share their experiences within Thailand or point me in the right direction?
