I Intitially thought the story would be about fake degrees held by tourists trying to teach in thailand......Im assuming that is a major issue too?

I suppose that the person hiring could call the institution in question before hiring someone?  Is that not done in Thailand?

What is the impact on tourism really?Does anyone actually know any numbers?  Is it a good time to come visit if one is into flooding and overall unease?

I absolutely hope the trip is different than the vlogs....I hear you loud and clear.   

The advice is amazing guys/gals(assuming all men on here)lol.....Anyway, yeah so im thinking of staying in Bkk for a couple days max...Then go to Issan, Where?  lol  Where is the land of 3$ massages, and beautiful girls who live in country or work in the country i guess either is fine....I do want to see the country as well....Not specifically coming for female interaction, that would be a plus but not necessary.

Really good tips, thanks!  Im 43 so dont feel that old....But i do like the idea of 10$ massages....so thats a selling point.....Maybe ill just come out for 30 days and see how it goes..

Slightly off topic.....I was planning on coming to BKK spending some time in rural areas and beach, then within 30 days going to Vietnam.  My plan was to go to BKK vietnamese Embassy upon arrival to BKK and apply for Vietnam Visa there in BKK.  I am an American so no visa on arrival is available in Vietnam(which sucks).......On a side note, i need a plane ticket to vietnam?  OR should i just take a train as part of my Thailand travels?  

Will Airline let me on plane from California with a round trip ticket spanning 3 mos. considering i will be planning on visa on arrival in Thailand.....?

Wow thanks everyone....Unfortunately i am well aware of all of your jokes and comments.....Ive done the research, watched all the vlogs, etc.....I actually feel like ive already been there lol......But seriously, i do like the work ethic, and dedication of the women there.....I dont want to take advantage of anyone by any means, and want to stay away from the heavy party scene as much as possible......

Seems like good country and good value for my veteran compesnation ill be living on....I may even teach too, but feel the pay is nothing......LOL   The comment about the sheep was pretty funny, and the pick up truck , scooter, etc.......LOL

I have enjoyed the in depth information on this site for a month or so now, and just want  a down and dirty answer.....

I'm 43 have retirement/disability from US ARMY and can produce a letter for that stating 3200$ per month...Should i bring this letter or am i too young to apply for retirement visa....?  Again it is for disability, not retirement necessarily.

Also, I was planning on just showing up at airport and getting initial 30 day visa as I was planning to fly to cambodia/vietnam/etc.......Maybe I should just do that?  I mean if i wanted to stay long term my only option is to fly out of country and back, or possibly qualify for retirement visa????(i think u have to be 50yrs. old for that?)

I suppose i could go to Thai Language school and apply for visa that way?  Is that a thing?  

I am open to suggestions....:)

Hi I am 43 and do not live by a thai embassy here in the states.......

I know i can fly in and have a 30 day visa.   I am wondering what my options are when i get there.....If i show disability income proof can i get a longer visa when i get there?  (what documents should i bring)......Im assuming here that i can apply for longer visas when i get there?

What are your suggestions......?
