The resignation should be applauded...any racist act from a public official should not be tolerated...now move onto the black officials who denegrate whites as well...if americans want to truly end bias, they simply need to treat people equally, without regard to race...so end affirmative action, etc...

Over and over again, experiments have been conducted to see if banks and other institutions treat African Americans fairly. Repeatedly the results show that they don't.

I've really no sympathy for the Greeks and Tsipras has the gall to state that they can't bear any more austerity. One word, tough.

You really believe that Greece was bailed out? No, it was the banks that foolishly lent to Greece that were bailed out. Greece should have been allowed to leave the Eurozone and Germany and France should have indemnified their banks if they thought that was crucial. Greece can never repay the amount that it owes. The  debt will keep on increasing and increasing. Sooner or later that kind of thing leads to violent revolution.

Throwing good money after bad. Break up the EU and let individual countries sink or swim on their own. Even Frankenstein was wrong. The German piggy bank is running dry Angela has got her bags packed and is heading for the exit. Soon like after the civil war the Carpetbagger Banks will descend on you and pick you clean. They will marshal your money give it away free to some and digitize the rest. The will Houdini your money away. Modi has already started the ball rolling to control money. Politicians are growing bolder and growing a pair of brass ones emboldened to push you to the limit. Now the question begs just how far will you let them push you??

The problem is not the EU but the Euro.  It should never have been created. Helps Germany with its exports by keeping its currency artificially low in relation to the German economy, hurts countries like Spain and Italy by keeping the currency artificially high in relation to their economies.

    That is the glaring difference

Obama would urge debt relief for Greece

Trump would urge debt relief for America

too bad the Greeks didn't throw shoes

Trump would urge debt relief for America?  Is that why he's pushing for big tax cuts and big increases in spending?  I don't understand.

Whether America cuts back when their allies step up does not matter to readiness.  US, whether forward deployed or not needs to hang on to the BIG stick.

Britain was nearly driven to bankruptcy trying to defend the "empire" and the colonial way of life.  America could well learn from the follies of over extension.

"Hang on to the big stick".  We certainly don't need to make it any bigger.

Nothing wrong with 7am Happy hour.

One of the problems when people  who move away from Pattaya.

is they  forget what fun is. :saai:

The Op  was asking about Pattaya.

BTW 2015,    352 murders  in NYC

you should be used to a high crime rate by now. :giggle:

There's a company called Numbeo that helps people compare amenities and other quality of life issues in different cities by compiling various statistics. NYC is a lot safer than Pattaya. That's 325 murders out of about 9 million people. And considering that most murders are committed by and against people who know each other, your odds of being murdered in NYC are vanishingly small. Unless you hang out with the wrong crowd.

  7. Have to agree with Trump on this one.  In the late 19th and early 20th century Britain spent a huge amount on maintaining its empire much to the detriment of the working classes.  But the appeal to pride worked.  I believe the USA spends about 6 percent of its GDP on defense. When Japan and Korea start spending at that rate, let them get back to us. But what I don't understand is why Trump wants to hugely increase military spending if he wants to reduce US involvement in Asia and Europe.
